  1. I was thinking how cool of an arc would be if there was a dragon who could shapeshift and was the one selling and buying the stuff from heroes. "Man, they always got such great stuff."
  2. 1. CoT maps. Most likely to make me go, "So where the hell are they?" or "How do I navigate this thing?" 2. Cave maps. Because apparently making an underground fortress has to have the smallest tunnels. 3. Arachnos. I have no ideal who thought that's what a base should look like. They're so evil even they don't like them. There is a red side mission where you go in a cave which has actual spider webs and such in it, and I'm like, "Where the hell has this layout been?" Office and warehouse maps aren't even great, but they are so above the rest it is almost like taking a breath just to see one.
  3. There's no lack of guides and conversations in the Market forum. I have at times openly posted outside of the Market forum how I can take a newly made character and set myself up for my first billion using that character alone. The literal best answer I can give for a starting point in terms of generating currency in other MMOs is to first hit max level. In case anyone needs it. Pick a number 0-99. I like using the year I was born. Lets say 75. Create a character. Put them though the tutorial. Don't use the Inspirs. Exit the tutorial. Sell the Inspirs on the Market for 5 currency. Take your new coin and start putting bids on common salvage at 75 a pop. By all means do stacks of them. Go play the game. Hit up Posi I and II and Synapse at some point. Sell those stacks to the Vendor. Rinse and repeat until let's say around 90k*. Put 87k-90k bids on common IO recipes for Acc and Damage. Again, do stacks when you can. Sell them to Vendors. Once you hit 1.5k*, start putting bids on Level 41 Red Fortunes and their salvage. Take your Merits and convert them to Enhancement Converters. Craft and convert to another Defense set using 2 Enhancement Converters since Enhancement Converters have to convert to a rare Defense set in this specific instance. Sell the Reactive Defenses for 1,999,975* unless it is the Scaling Damage one. Add a mill or 2* on that one. Sell Luck of the Gamblers for 3,999,975* unless it is the +Recharge one. Those are 5,999,975*. Rinse, repeat, sell stacks. That's literally how I do it and one of many ways I have done it. Converting purples is another. So yes, it is trivial even without farming and no real resources. Sure, prices on the market for certain items can go crazy at times. That's why you watch it over time. Hell, the last 5 don't even display correctly on a consistent level. They can literally be displaying prices for the wrong item. In a different well known MMO I have played. it took me two weeks to gain a single gold. Now I can pound out 2-4 gold on a daily basis on the casual if I want to solely because I hit max level. You want that really awesome mount? Well, its starting point is 250 gold. Oh, you want to buy a legendary item? (chuckles) Oh, go on. Go craft it instead. There's nothing like time gated crafting so a single item in a list of them can take 7 days to craft. You want a new character? Well, if you earn enough gold you can convert that to gems so you can spent the hundreds of gems to unlock a single character slot. I played that MMO for months, and I can say I never want to hear about the problem with currency in CoH because this game doesn't even know what a true grind really is. * Prices may vary.
  4. I took a character this past weekend who was farmed to 22 and decided to generate some currency for them. I think they had one rare salvage. I sold it, and pounded the common IO recipes since I don't have any merits on hand for that character. On the the casual, I had near 4 million after the weekend. And honestly, I didn't really need the rare salvage as start up. If I grabbed a new character and pounded out Posi and Synapse this past weekend, 20 mill would have been cake. If people want to complain about generating currency here, may I introduce you to other MMOs.
  5. I don't understand why making it a toggle hasn't been done already unless the Devs think you must have a Rage crash. I'm all for unique sets, but there's a reason why Rage crash is only done on SS. Hell, Hemorrhage has a downside for 15 seconds, and it's that you can't gain Blood Frenzy. Rage is -20% Def for 10 seconds, no real damage for 10 seconds, and a 25% loss of your end. Those aren't even remotely compatible.
  6. Live: Claws/regen Scrapper. While not my main, it was the one I was most sentimental to. I was on common IOs. It would partly be interesting to see what it would have been like to fully IO it out back then. My guess is I would have played even fewer alts. Homecoming: Claws/wp Brute. Version 2.0 since WP gave me what I wanted out of Regen in a nicer set. Claws/en Scrapper. I did this after I got a StJ/ea Stalker to 50. It's an absolute joy to take out and blow through missions with it. Claws/en Brute. Currently level 30. Mostly just wanting to try out EA on a Brute. It's so close to flipping the switch. Maybe I'll be able to decide on the Brute version versus Scrapper, but gladly I have both. Claws/ice Scrapper. Currently level 27. I just wanted to see what it would be like to have a damage aura with Claws. I would have gone Stone if I could find a look for the character which I actually liked. I'm mostly waiting for Ice to come together a little bit more. I just really need slotting in Shockwave. Bit of a cheat, but my Fort. What an utter and complete Swiss Army Knife of destruction. I fully expect there is a Claws/sr of come kind in my future. Next would be Claws/elec, and Claws/rad.
  7. Clearly you don't want to take it even though you asked if one should. It's your build. Do what you want, but for me I play aggressively and want all of my bigger hitters back asap. So sure, having a power back lets save a second faster doesn't seem to be that big of a deal, but it absolutely can be in the right situation, see any AoE control or Transfusion. Also, you absolutely want Hasten on a Ill/kin.
  8. The only one I can think of honestly has a decent chance of being done. Sonic Melee. Why? It would give melee a way to do -Res. Since I prefer a blender style of play, I see no reason by current animations why Sonic Melee can't be insanely fast. Also, doing even partly Energy damage would be nice as well. It's the only set I could see rivaling Claws for me.
  9. And for your other powers? Fireball animates in 1 sec. It recharges in 32.
  10. What is this Hasten is skippable talk? Others may feel different, but I can't imagine not having Hasten on a Kin. You're damage capped. Do you not want to attack even more?
  11. I assume I'm north of 3 billion if I went looking. My current goal is to have a character either IOed out, self sufficient in gaining currency, aka they work the market, or having $500 mill on hand for any future needs. If a character is north of $500 mill, they send extra to someone who isn't.
  12. As Blackjoy mentioned, this partly depends on what level you are trying to solo. Also, once you hit 50, do you plan on using IOs on the character to further max it out? If you want to solo on lower content and just kind of explore the game as is, Kat/wp will absolutely work. IIRC, I got my Claws/wp brute to 50 on common IOs until I could go and add in sets. My only real issue with WP is just how much the set fears debuffs. To add, I would pick WP if I am playing casually. Note, I think it is better on Brutes and Tanks due to more HP and hence regen. If I'm about the end game, Dark/sr. Back in the day the first build to hit 50 in a Hardcore SG was a Dark/sr Scrapper.
  13. I think the important part is playing the Kin. As someone who had a Kin/elec main on Live and a Elec/kin controller on here, I don't find end drain all that worthy. It is more work then it cam be worth if it is worth anything at all. Some AVs simply will not be drained of their end and will attack even with a sliver of end. I would outright question anyone saying end drain can be effective against AVs. If mobs die too fast and it is about the AVs, Kin/sonic or Kin/beam are the first I would look at due to -Res. After that you are looking at ones with solid ST damage or pets. Ill/kin is on a pathway to pretty easy to perma PA.
  14. I can't get Stone to really work for me in terms of look when using Claws. I got a Claws/ice up to 27 now though, and I'm still testing it out. It isn't quite there yet. Energy Drain handles end issues for me when using EA, but I honestly slot IOs as I go along to I don't feel end issues like I used to. Honestly, I can hardly touch ED on my Claws/ea Scrapper, but that build is close to being done even with Incarnates. Stone is incredibly good though. I have a Ice/stone Brute at 50 and the Stalker version at 28. My only complaint is the look. I don't use Granite on my Brute.
  15. I took a break for about 200 or so days recently and still am trying to get use to what got changed during that time. There is a strong chance if you think it changed it has.
  16. I'm also totally okay with not having every set go to every related AT, but we've already had sets go to ATs which are a bit of a stretch, see Stone Armor for Stalkers. I just see no reason for EA not going to a Tank.
  17. Other weapon sets work well for his Planet/World Wide Hulk storylines. He's often shown holding two weapons, but not similar enough to call it DB. Hulk being DB would just be odd anyway. I think Inv and WP work well for the defense set. I think Invul works best thematically, but you have already done it. You could honestly spin his Planet Hulk storyline and go Shield if you want even if Hulk would be closer to not wanting a shield. I mean, a big green guy holding a mace and shield will still make people think it's Hulk without you just going big green guy in purple pants.
  18. I'm currently trying to fix an issue in a C++ CLI app. I don't envy anyone working with C even if it is more simplified as a language.
  19. Since I took a decent break from the game, the Claws/ea finally hit 30. I picked Shockwave over Energize at 30, but I will grab Energize at 32. Still liking it a lot. I need to bump my diff as it is only +1/x3.
  20. -End without -Recovery isn't really all that controlish. End drain might be the weakest form of mitigation in the game outside of the argument for Sleeps. There simply are targets which go, "Oh, that tickles." if you try to end drain them with -End alone. I'm not even sure it matters if -Recovery is involved. It's work regardless, and I will die on the hill that if a target has a sliver of End, they will attack. My main on Live was Kin/elec. I rolled a controller version as soon as I hopped on Homecoming, and got reminded just how ineffective -End is.
  21. Shield adds to your offense. SR has better DDR.
  22. EA would be S tier on a tank, but having played a /stone Brute to 50 and working on a /ea Brute, I don't think its going to be any more over the top than other S tier sets. Last I checked at least a few of the old timers here thought Shield as the bees knees.
  23. Getting the badges for level 15 and 25 common IOs are helpful, but a bit of a money sink in this version of the market. It will cut down on the cost of crafting them after you have the badge though. I'm still not sure the badges are that useful in today's game. Craft what you need and move on. You technically don't have to do the mission for it. The only real advantage is it gives you a free common IO. In terms of end use, I'm not sure if you are talking Hover or Fly. Here's the break down Hover: .195 end/sec. Fly: 0.455 end/sec. Compare those numbers to Flares. End Cost: 3.692 Recharge Time: 2.18 seconds. Attacks will default to always being more end hungry than your toggles. Data: https://cod.uberguy.net/
  24. I don't know if this is due to an ad blocker or not, but I haven't been able to. I haven't found the option to post something on a forum like previous versions did. I just upload the file itself.
