  1. I also prefer Claws in how it plays since I prefer faster playing sets, and the needlessly there ranged attacks. WP doesn't need Body for an Epic, but you honestly don't need Epic attacks either when you have Claws. WP can give you a bunch of End, but it also doesn't protect from End Drain either so more End isn't a bad thing. I have no qualms with WM, and I am getting back to leveling one soon enough. It is just a playstyle thing as I have taken Claws to 50 three times.
  2. There is a difference between being hard and being auto fail.
  3. I have a feeling this might of happened in a similar way with a mission I did the following day. I rescued the three NPCs. I didn't see them anymore so I assumed they eventually died. Mission would not succeed or fail and it was timed. I logged out and back in and abandoned it. And yes, I cleared out the map. Some missions are just quirky. I had another where I had to rescue a NPC. Ends up there were 5 different versions of said NPC, but they only cared about the named one. The funniest part? All of the NPCs generated ambushes except for the named one.
  4. The only difference between 0/x8 and +4/x8 is currency drops and ego.
  5. Scrapper forum has the pylon thread so you can look there, but Em/bio in offensive mode is likely the top one in terms of ST. Rad/fire Brute is the AoE king partly because IG from Rad is super good in how procs work. It does come at the cost of being more flimsy. I find FA to be middle ground at best when doing non-farm content.
  6. Without new power sets, it is basically the state of the game. New content is needed and nice, but I don't think a new TF adds as much as a new power set does. A TF can be done by existing characters. A new power set means more characters.
  7. I think the game is in the mode of where we will get spikes based on releases, but people will likely just play it casual coming in and out as needed. I'm slowing getting to the point of playing for the sake of playing and not really having an answer for "now what?" I have like 4 builds to get to 50, and after that, I can't think of any I have a real desire to get to 50. I'll just play my 50s.
  8. In terms of the build, you don't really need Swipe around level 20, so you can one slot it and put those slots elsewhere. You can two slot Sprint to get some S/L Res.
  9. Current numbers on my Brute Ice/stone/soul build. S/L: 50.19 E/N: 43.87 P: 42.62 F/C: 40.66 I can't get S/L Res as high as I want, but the Def is high enough it matters little. E\N Res is lacking, but again, the def is quite high. Psi Resist is terrible, but I have stood in the middle Psi-Cops and their ranged attacks and been fine. On it and my Claws/en Scrapper, I put a grand total of maybe one proc in an attack and Shockwave has the KD one. I see no reason for Claws/stone to not work out really well. If I hadn't taken Claws to 50 three times already, I would roll one. Scrapper Claws is the most fun melee set going. FYI, the build skips Evis. I concur on that. I can make an attack chain of FU, Spin, and Shockwave.
  10. Savage and Stone Armor both do.
  11. Only level 41, but Ice\stone\soul has to be in the running for best overall build I've run regardless of the map. It has cake walked some of the maps with heavy doses of Psi-Cops and their ranged attacks. Biggest con right now is lack of En Resist, but the Def is high enough it isn't that huge of an issue. I had about a 3 level run where end became an issue but more slotting and hitting 40 for that extra row of inspirs has helped. Still only +1/x4, but I see no reason to not do +3 for more of my standard soloing whatever map at a casual level when I hit +1. x8 when I can add in for DDR with Ageless as mobs are small enough now stacking -Def hasn't been much of an issue. Likely more getting Ageless for the Recharge and End. I will say how DoT heavy the build is I had to change how I attack to more spreading my attacks around to let the DoT work versus focusing on single targets unless it is a boss or EB.
  12. I couldn't tolerate leveling that slow, but your goal is different than mone so I get it. Also, depending on the build, KD becomes KB and that gets annoying on melee characters.
  13. Damn it. I was too angered and I crossed the streams.
  14. The story arc mission was a calk walk "destroy an ancient artifact." Sorry, Black Widow. You weren't more important than a hunk of stone.
  15. Yes, I know, I don't "have to solo" on +1/x4 while leveling. This issue only gets worse when you do end game content at x8 diff setting. But. Rescue Black Widow. I cake walk the mission and free her. Instant mass ambush and I don't mean a single mob. The beauty of it? A boss instantly puts me in Detention Field. I can literally do nothing while Black Widow gets slaughtered. I barely get free, do all of like two attacks, and see the load screen. "I'm disappointed in you. I thought you would have been better." I would have expected a better mechanism for soloists, but alas. Out of all of the BS destined to fail missions I have done while soloing, this had to be the most infuriating one yet. I could literally do nothing. And yes, I was trying to pop purples when I saw how big the mob was. The mass horde was around a corner so there was no real chance to see what was coming. Good luck knowing it is that Longbow boss as well. I enjoy a number of the most difficult arcs while solo, but this is simply anti-fun. This says nothing of possible failing arc ending missions with similar mob spams with NPC rescue. There's a special hell for those.
  16. You do realize other power sets offer recharge right?
  17. There is also a budget version in the guide section as well. Granted, it is for Spines/fire, but it would give you enough of an idea of how to do it cheaply. I use a variation or exact copy of the listed fastest one for Rad/fire, but it isn't cheap. I was doing +2/x8 on level 25 commons, so that should give you a base line of what to expect. End was a mild issue until Incarnates. You ideally want capped Def/Res for Fire. Go Recharge after that.
  18. IO levels are mostly about set bonuses and when you can slot them. I honestly slot so many attuned IOs these days. This way if I need to remove them for any reason another build can can use them asap. I know people who use max level IOs and them get them to +5, but I only do those for common IOs. I default to converting a specific level IOs to attuned as soon as I get the chance. They cost the same on the market anyway.
  19. StJ actually has small AoEs. They recharge decently quick though.
  20. I don't think I have ever seen an End Mod in Transfusion before. IR and Fly don't need to be two slotted. Hasten doesn't need three slots. Some of the controls are under slotted. It is so rare to see a SO build, and even that's done poorly and even on the redo.
  21. I haven't looked at numbers but one AoE is going to make larger mobs a bit of a chore. Even if add one via Epics, you can still be behind other primaries. I think you want a damage aura with it or some sort of AoE damage via /rad. The added Def for Brutes and Tanks means it can play better on those ATs.
  22. If they are a glass cannon, then there is risk in being able to do all of that added damage.
  23. I want to roll /nin, but the lack of resists make me hold off on doing so. I only use offensive mode in Bio when I'm on a team with my Brute. Giving up resist isn't something I'm fond of when soloing.
  24. The only real con for a resist based set on a Scrapper is they are better on ATs with more HP. Otherworldly could mean a number of sets though. StJ/ea would be easy, but then so would StJ/dark or Stj/rad. Why is the build "otherworldly?"
