Honestly, -regen is more for things above a boss level. I made a Poison/rad, but it is currently shelved. I haven't decided on keeping it or maybe just changing the secondary. Mostly just trying to figure out a build which clicks for me.
-
Croax's thread has a build for everything. I haven't looked at it for Em/ea, but I have used one of his builds and minorly modified another. Em/ea lacks AoE but it is the best for ST damage.
-
At level 35. I did a Carnie and Freakshow missions at +1/x4. I used 2-3 blues which dropped. I pushed my end bar as much as I could, and didn't really avoid the end debuff coming from the Carnies. Brimstone Armor has a Res/End in it. The added damage helps so mobs die quicker now which means less end used overall. I still assume using Ageless so end will be fine. Leveling pace is fine, but I still might bump diff at a point.

EA or Stone. I have a Stone Stalker and Brute, but end has been manageable, Granted, I just hit 35 on the Brute so seeing how that goes with the latest toggle added, but really blues which drop are enough. End drain based mobs makes life a bit harder, but I still find it manageable. I think my toggles only dropped once in a long time when I simply ignored my blue bar for a time. Note, I have been using IOs as I go. I used cheaper ones up till 27, and aimed for end game ones sans purples after that. This is my Ice/stone Brute which should be easy enough to convert over. I've taken EA to 50 twice, so that will quite good as well. WM will like the recharge both offer. There's no reason to delay in taking an EA power when it becomes available unless it is an auto power as those have lower priority. It is a Scrapper build, but I laid out my Claws/ea build below. I have a Em/ea Scrapper, but it is kind of sitting at 37 so I don't have a build for it. I know Em/ea builds have been posted so you can look for those. Swapping out a single power shouldn't be too difficult. To be honest, the cloaking aspect is mostly on the character versus the auras themselves. You might want to ding 20 and try it out and then decide. You can do a respec if you don't want it. Attacking does not suppress the cloaking aspect though. Hell, the T2 isn't needed on my Claws in the end, but it is there because I had to take something. I would super obviously take more attacks as I leveled then what you posted.
-
Numbers look fine enough. I assume this is for a build which doesn't exempt like ever since your placement of powers is terrible.
-
Someone grabbed a non-superior ATO at 20 million.
-
Dinged 31 on the Brute and only soloing it so far. Still doing fine. I will say if mobs do end drain like Freakshow, then it can be more of an issue, but that isn't really unique to Stone.
-
/fire also makes up for Staff's mediocre damage. For 801 missions, I'll honestly do more of them solo than on a team. Case in point, I was on my previously mentioned level 27 Ice/stone Brute after I updated my slotting. I soloed a regular mission and got in a situation where I was screwed and yet found a way to get past it. On a team? Meh. I doubt I blink. Some of the most fun I had playing a Defender was soloing a Rad/sonic. My knowledge of the game has improved the most through soloing.

Scrapper specifically since the recharge on it is shorter than other ATs.

Are Defenders the equivalent of support Tanks?
Without_Pause replied to Ankhammon's topic in Defender
Knock yourself out showing how many Def based sets can also cap Resists while soft capping. Soft capping all types is difficult if not impossible. I said types. Not positions. Getting S/L Resist capped alone can be difficult for a Def based set. I have multiple Def based IO builds which have high but not capped S/L Resists. I even recently did a Brute build where some resists are quite low as there is no way to get them up in that sort of build without gimping it and even in that case likely not getting capped. This says nothing of a having a build soft capped and having credible DDR. -
Damage cap is 400%, 500%, 700% depending on the AT. Players can get in the 195% range as a default. So no, Overgrowth is nice but nothing close to damage capping a team. https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Limits#Damage

O.o. Why would you follow yourself?

Rad/Stone build and compilation of Stone Armor builds.
Without_Pause replied to Sovera's topic in Brute
I took about 4 passes before I finalized my Claws/ea Scrapper and this is pass one for a Ice/stone Brute. I converted this over from Croax's Stalker version. I think the debate here is how much recharge do I want to give up for more S/L resist. I can't say skipping Granite was intended, but it just fell that way. 4 ST attacks means that's set and 3 AoEs with a damage aura means things will die quickly enough. Power picks are actually quite close to what I use for leveling. I used Fists to start with Kick as added filler. Currently at 37, so I plan on upgrading the build and taking Ice Sword this time. I'll toss in whatever until I hit 50 and can swap in the purples. It should ding 50 sometime 4/2022. Update: Pass #2. It helps to have the right version of Mid's. A couple of slots changed as well. Update: Pass number 4. I bumped the def F/C numbers to get them in the 40 range. The sacrifice was essentially 10% recharge. I yearn for the day when someone mentions FA and doesn't feel the need to talk about how well it does fire farming. Fine for most content isn't the same as being very solid. Again, my IOed out /fire Brute got flung around a map and it has some KB protection.
-
I'm doing Ice/stone/mu on a couple of builds, so no, Body isn't required.

Ice/Regen - Why would you roll that on a Stalker!?
Without_Pause replied to Due Regard's topic in Stalker
Ice is actually pretty legit on a Stalker. Ice Patch is going to give /regen the breathing room it needs. I would dump Placate for Frost and not go so heavy on Health and Stamina. -
I actually see 801 missions being offered up fairly consistently on Excel. I have yet to see someone ask about doing PvP in game. Based on people who have run them, FA will be middle ground at best. I don't think Rad/fire is a very solid Stalker build. And again, you pair them together on a Brute or a Tank due to the dual damage auras. Neither of which a Stalker gets. Rad's ST attacks have long animation times so you want it for the AoE. I know it is old data, but FA is the least played secondary for a Stalker. Rad melee is 11th.

When You Want to Run Solo, What Scrapper Do You Take?
Without_Pause replied to 00Troy00's topic in Scrapper
The downside is there are two powers with pets so they don't crit. This is lesser of an issue for a Stalker as the pet means it doesn't break Hide. Add in AS and the ST damage is solid. It is more just how good the combo is on a Stalker versus it being bad for a Scrapper. -
When You Want to Run Solo, What Scrapper Do You Take?
Without_Pause replied to 00Troy00's topic in Scrapper
Claws/ea or Ice/stone. I have a Ice/stone Brute and Stalker so I see no reason why it won't work for a Scrapper. If I could talk myself into trying Claws/stone, I would do that. I've already taken Claws to 50 three times, so I don't feel the need to make another right now. -
Burn is technically broken to my knowledge. I don't deny it being overly good. I still wouldn't roll a /fa Stalker if I care about min/max/staying sane. Stick a FA build in a AE 801 mission and see how far it gets. FA is great against easier mobs. Stalkers also don't get FE or BA. It is a cheap imitation compared to what a Brute or Tank can do with it. Out of the ATs which get FA, I would put Sents and Stalkers at the bottom.
-
I find FA even on a Brute to be middle ground at best. Even with an IOed out build for non-farm content, the build got literally flung around a map on a red side SF. I still need to finalize T4ing all of the Incarnates for both farming and non-farming content, but I don't see how it stands out versus other builds outside of farms. On a Stalker with even less HP? It feels like a lot of work for no real benefit when other ATs do FA so much better. I would go EA or Stone.
-
I was looking at CoD. Both do the same damage overall as do all AS attacks. The quirks are how damage is split when it is and cast times. I would hold off on the idea of rolling Rad due to doing more energy damage for its AS. 1. What makes Rad great is IG which Stalkers don't get. 2. Rad's animation times are not great. https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=villain_pets.radiation_melee_assassins_corruption.assassins_strike_quick&at=stalker https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=villain_pets.energy_melee_assassins_strike.assassins_strike_quick&at=stalker
-
Mine is Cold/water, and I don't have a build for it yet as it is level 27.
-
Flipping back and forth on Ice/stone Stalker and Brute builds. I like both so far. Random odd fact. In terms of AS, Energy's doesn't do the most Energy damage. Rad's does.
