  1. I started a Psi/Nin Stalker tonight because I have never played either set or AT (and I played for years on Live too!) Any builds or at least recommendations on how to slot or what;s skippable? Current concept, this is a flying character. so I think Hover and Afterburner, for LotGs is nothing else, and try and get enoguh +movement to hover "all the time" while in combat
  2. I like those reference pics! I think dual blade has an energy blade like the above, or maybe go with Psi Melee. I'd love to get wings similar to the above! A quick pass at it, I may see if dual blades has the energy blades I remember. Celestial Armor gloves are too large to fit even though they are thematically very similar to the refernce pic
  3. Proper answer from the patch notes: The following change was omitted from the beta patch notes due to a related exploit: Influence gain can no longer be increased by disabling XP We’ve made this change to reduce the influence income gap between players who farm and those that do not. The amount of additional influence gained by abusing level 49 missions simply wasn’t healthy for the overall economy of the game, and generally unfair towards those who play standard level 50 content instead of farming. Additionally, there were various exploits that could be abused in order to further increase influence gain through this option. Overall, we concluded it was best to remove the mechanic. Even with this change farming is still far more efficient than every other method of influence gain.
  4. I disagree with the answer above. the Inf in AE maps has definitely been touched last week, and plenty of people are whining about it game. I came here to get more info and details, but this thread isn't it
  5. Some good thoughts. Yes, Superior Invis is exclusive with Shadow Falls. There are great uses is SI in solo, for example to confuse a for without aggroing, or simply to position, etc... But I mostly team and rarely find it useful except for stealthing missions and then switch back to Shadow Falls. I generally don't like "always on" invisibility, I work hard on my costumes, I want them to be seen (that RP aspect again). I even often switch shadowfall off for travel. But this powerset combo makes it mostly inevitable. I finally respec'd in the build above with purples, superiors, etc.... and I'm quite happy with the results, whether min/maxed or not.
  6. Here is my current version, I think I like the fighting pool in the end, the maxed S/L resist helps survivability. I don't have purples equipped yet, just their weaker equivalent, but I'm able to take aggro for a x8+4 team (doing any meaningful damage is another story...). I did take the advice to bring Soul Absorption earlier. The order slots are used in not necessarily right for leveling. It started that way but since I'm 50, I didn't worry about it as I moved things around in the build I'm going to try Flash as my lvl 50 power. Not sure if a Superior Entomb Recharge/Chance for Absorb or a Lockdown Chance for +2 Mag hold is best. I think since the power is on a 70s cooldown with my build, it should proc pretty reliably? Do you know if the +2 Mag hold is chance is per target or per activation? 7. Does the Superior version have a higher chance to proc, or a higher absorb value (no clear how absorb works) than the regular version? Not sure if I can tell from Mid's, although I see the Superior recharge is about 10% more than the regular
  8. it looks like the easiest way to understand the effect of SA is to monitor the "totals" window and see how the recovery and regen bars are affected. Deosn;t tell you if it's the same for the team or not
  9. Doh! I fell so stupid! thanks! New numbers with Numina in Soul Absorption: what's the difference between the left and right Regen(s)? also case #1 showed 3 Regen(s) numbers? Mid's doesn't provide a tip, so I'm still not sure how to compare the numbers So I still feel stooopid 🙂 I think I'm leaning towards leaving the Numinas in Twilight Grasp, living with whatever I got from Soul Absorption in terms of regen, but I can easily slot it much earlier than 41. 22 seems like a good target, Hasten is at 24 and I may need some of the recovery when examplared that low with Hasten. EDIT: oops, can't take it before 28 anyway
  10. Thanks for the explanation! all clear now!
  11. Oh, I'm taking it, it's just a matter of when and what slotting. Because of set bonuses I want a 6-piece set of Numina and a 4-piece set of Cloud Senses Both Twilight Grasp and Soul Absorption will take either, but I'm having a hell of time understanding the Mid's numbers for Soul Absorption Case #1 slot Cloud Senses in Soul Absorption and Numina in Twilight Grasp: TG heals 1084 per activation TG ToHit debuf is -5% I just realized that's only the TG target, I always thought this was an AoE around the target. 😞 Aslo the Numina proc is now active at any examplar level SA number say this: (set to a conservative 3 foes hit) Case #2: reverse the slotting TG now heals for almost half less: 663 TG To-Hit debuff is now -5.7% So TG is defeintely a lot more efficient in case #1 but why do the SA numbers look so different than above and which ones are best (Numina has got to best)? It seems that Numina is best in Twilight Grasp unless the recovery/regen from SA is worth all the sacrifices
  12. I've seen some build that rely on boosting a defense click power: as long as you click the defense power within the short time power boost is active, the defense is boosted for the duration of the click power. For example Fade from Darkness Affinity lasts a full minute: hit Power Boost then Fade, and you defense provided by Fade is doubled. Just a few enhancements gets you 20%+ of defense, and getting Fade perma is not that hard. I've seen a Fire/Time build that uses the same trick, although it uses the power-boost like built into Clarion Radial to achieve the same effect. Someone commented somewhere either in this forum or in /help that it was a bug and wasn't supposed to work that way, but the description of Power Boost does mentions defense buffs as being affected, although is seems in game descriptions (and Mids') are not being kept up-to-date. can someone confirm or deny? Power Boost also doubles healing effects but I'm not sure I want to take it if it doesn't also apply to the defense boost (Fade and others are also a Team defense buff!)
  13. So, my Ill/Dark controller hit 50 last night and I'm about to respec him into purples, and one topic of conversation was when to take Soul Absorption. I took it pretty early on the way up, but when I respected into attuned IOs in the 30s, I moved it out to my 40s because I realized I never used it. Some people talk about it as one of the cornerstones of the set, so I feel like I am missing something about this power, but I haven;'t found a good Darkness Affinity guide that goes over its tactical use. My understanding is that it gives you a base regen and base recovery boost, and that this boost is increased bythe number of ? around you. I use ? because some of the wikis and Mids and in game descriptions don;t seem to agree on whether this is impacted by live foes, defeated foes or both. I mostly don't have endurance issues with my build and have what seems like a more effective heal with Twilight grasp which is why I rarely used it when I had it. But i's a team buff, so I guess I could help the team with recovery and regen, if they're willing to stand still long enough over a pile of (dead bodies?) to benefit from the effect. It also has a -10% toHit on the affected foes, so you want to use it on live foes for this to have any use, which would be contrary to using it on corpses??? So can you guys tell me why you like (or don't like) Soul Absorption and how you use it most effectively?
  14. bummer Ignore the nonsense about Maneuver being an LOTG mule, I was thinking of a different build (I'm levelling 3 controlelrs at the moment)
  15. I examplar a lot. Until I respec'd into the current build in around lvl 37 I had it earlier but found I never used it, so I actually pushed it out. Do you use for the Regen or the recovery? I'm using the fighting pool more for the Tough resist than the def in Maneuvers but Maneuvers is also a mule for LoTG. I do see the utility of using TP to get the most out of HT. I'd love to get out of the fighting pool as I tend to have it on most of my builds. Going Energy for Power Boost is definitely something to think about. Even though the build above says group invis, I'm currently planning on Flash. It group invis could be an LoTG mule if I get out of the fighting pool Some good thoughts I might play around with.
  16. This is my current build (I'm in the mid 40s) very heavily inspired by a post in this forum. (almost) Perma PA, Perma Fade, and Perma Hasten. softcapped S/L resist, and gobs of ranged defense and I believe softcapped for all positional defense 50% of the time. Relies on Spiritual alpha for perma hasten but still looks pretty good at lower levels. The reason I said I "believe" I have sofcapped positional defense is that I'm not 50 yet and don't have incarnates so I can;t verify my theory: Clarion Destiny Radial has a built-in "power boost" that will increase secondary effects of your powers for 22.5(?) seconds. If I use it and hit fade within those 22.5 seconds, I believe Fade defense increase is boosted for its full 1 minute duration? That's not bad endurance-wise, but since Beast Run and Combat Jump are mutually exclusive, I never use combat jump, at the loss of 2.6% defense and the Acc from Kismet. Between Beat Run + Sprint and jump/fly packs I can also forgo Superjump from the original build (allowing me to slot Maneuvers and its LoTG earlier). I'm also not sure what to take at 50. I originally had Assault for +15% damage but most of my damage comes from PA and my understanding is that its damage can't be boosted. Same reasoning for Soul Drain. Same with Tactics, although it would help with the control powers. And of course benefit the team, just as Assault. There are few reasons to stealth at lvl47+ so Group Invisibility would not be the best choice this late in the game. Black Hole is not very useful So either travel power of Flash with an Endoplasm? I'd love to get comments/feedback
  17. you both took Blind. Is it because of the Set bonuses or do you think its' a useful power? except at low levels I'm not sure I see the use for a single target sleep Nevermind, I now see that it's a ST hold with a chance to sleep targets next to it.
  18. Sometimes when I use Propel if say "impact" above the target. I haven't quite figured out why or what it does and was hoping to be enlightened.
  19. yes purples are automatically attuned, but you gotta be 50 to slot them, so I like to slot attuned "baby versions" while leveling up (you can slot ATOs as early as 10 for example, non-superior of course). I enjoy leveling up, don't use 2x XP, don't PL, but don;t wantto just stick to SOs or non-set IOs. I wasn't saying purples are better, but hthat a full Positron's Blast set will get you closer than using non-set IOs
  20. Female dresses/flowing robes options are pretty dismal, I'm trying to do something along those lines: But all Ihave been able to do so far looks more like Padme from StarWars, starched and stiff
  21. what is Impact?
  22. I was in the mood for more alts and in a controller mood, so I made an Ice/Poison villain and a grav/traps hero (also looking at an Ill/Dark or Ill/Time) Having a blast with Grav/Traps even though I am in the low teens. I haven't played Grav since Live and have never played Traps, so for now I'm just getting a feel for it. I'm feeling lazy so I hope someone will post their awesome Grav/Traps build so I have as starting point, otherwise I'll take any advice you have...
  23. I'm soloing x8+1 in the early 40s (Tina's "army" arc. It's become a "tradition" for me to solo it), so I'd hardly call that ineffective, but my fire corruptor or archery blaster would tear through x8+4 at the same level. I find myself stealthing on this character because because killing is a bit slow. I always use attuned enhancements (I examplar a lot after 50) and they scale as I level up. I always use the non-purples that offer similar benefits just in smaller quantities (like Positron Blast instead of Ragnarok or whatever it is), so while purples and superiors push it up a notch, the 40s do feel a lot like what 50 will (the biggest difference being builds that have perma Dom or perma Hasten at 50 but doi quite get there until then).
  24. Thanks, some food for thoughts. I definitely can get better at monitoring tidal stacks and opportunity to maximize damage. My build is currently almost identical to the one posted above. At 43 Geiser is not well slotted but it's still a great power
  25. That foxy costume is awesome! I'm stealing it! Too bad the muzzle is a bit shiny
