  1. OK fixed the post above, for some reason my build pointed to my plant controller instead when clicking the link I also made a few changes from the original as i discovered I had forgotten to slot Haunt. It's now a source of additional recharge and a place to put the pets bonus resist. Ranged defense is at 47ish, so there probably is a possible optimization for get it down to 45ish but I haven't found it yet. as part of fixing the post I made the slot order more friendly to leveling up. Fearsome stairs can get slotted with Will of the Controller early on and catalyze it at 50. Malaise's illusion is a good substitute for Coercive Persuasion before 50, similar bonuses, just not as large. In fact Malaise's illusion still gets you 45% Ranged defense so the biggest benefit of going purple is the extra 3% recharge, so it's still a good build if you can't afford the purples So I'm happy with it for now, as long as I didn't overlook some way to play the powerset.
  2. I started a Dark/Storm a while back but got distracted by other things. Now getting back to him. Anyone running that combo? I've never done Dark control before so I'm still discovering the different powers. Some of my thoughts: - I want tons of recharge, I didn't especially want Fly but I couldn't slot the LoTGs without taking the fly pool - I wanted this to be a pet heavy build, and Mako for the spout to echo the tornado seemed a natural fit. With enough recharge the coralax will be out 2/3 of the time. - Does the Kismet +6% acc also apply to pets? otherwise I might move the slot somewhere else - invisibility through mist and Stealth IO so I can stealth and ATT - soft capped Ranged and AoE defense, high S/L resit. I couldn't get Melee defense high enough, and with Fly this likely will end up being a ranged controller. So I skipped the PBAoE disorient later in the game, although I use it quite a bit right now while leveling up. Hurricane will help keep most baddies away from melee if needed. - I think the biggest weakness is lack of AoE controls, Fearsome Stare will be my opener and bread and butter control since Shadow field would not be available every group. immob+gale is a pocket AoE control through knockdown, which I use a lot at low levels. - Possess seems decent at low levels but not sure how it translates at higher level. A dominator could take a boss out of commission in one shot, a controller will generally need 2. On the other hand it's a signature Power for the set, so I decided I will try it and skip Shadow Field to take it. I do have an alternative build that uses shadow field slotted with the winter hold set. It lets me use Expedient Reinforcement in one of the pets (umbral beast or Coralax) instead of Blood Mandate so I get to slot the pet bonus resist - speaking of that pet bonus resist, is it worth lose the 5% AoE def from Blood Mandate? If I slot Expedient Reinforcements my AoE defense drops to 40% and I didn't find a good way to rebalance it without taking out Posses for Shadow Field. Agility Core doesn't quite make up the difference. - Does Interface Procs apply to pet damage and pseudo=pets like lighting storm? - I'll see how much I get mezzed in the endgame and whether I want Clarion or Ageless - I do like the high S/L resist as a second layer of protection, and I need two pool powers to get the Coralax and Bile Spray doesn;t seem that impressive The build below has slots for a level 50 respec, I haven't worked out the order while leveling. 3. Do you have double XP on? Then no influence. When dead double XP is off, so you are getting inf. That's my guess
  4. yes you can pop clarion like a breakfree to break mezz, or pop it preemptively to not get mezzed and drop offensive toggles in the first place.
  5. Yeah I put the kb to kd in Repel last night and it sucks, as highlited above, the chance for KD is now minimal although the end cost in a crowd becomes manageable. I will definitely respec out of it once I figure out what I want instead. Probably another Sonic power (Siren's song? It very useful in teams)
  6. I opened some winter packs and hero packs and have a couple of Windfall boosts in my email. They boost drops and inf for an hour. I would like to send them to my farmer on a different account, but it I can't forward the email (forward is not lit up) and it says if I claim it it will go to that character and start the timer.
  7. Clarion Radial also acts as a power boots power and greatly increases secondary effects of some powers. My /time controller can significantly boost tram defense thanks to it
  8. Any specific power set for your slasher?
  9. I decided to get it at 44 last night anyway, I can respec out of it. Without a KB-KD it's a load of fun but somewhere between useless and situational. I was annoying myself with how it tossed does, so I'm guessing teammates would not be amused. I do want to try it with a KB-KD in something like an ITF ambush with Conserve power on, but it's probably not sustainable that way either. Maybe with the right Destiny that boosts recovery 600% but I don't like powers that are too situational. I'll likely grab a power from my secondary as I don't know that I want anything else from kin/, unless you guys can think of why I should be excited about Inertial Reduction? Between the prestige powers and jet packs I have never felt the need for an additional superjump-like power I'll likely look at Patron powers as a place to get more us out of my 40s slots.
  10. I do want it to be a spider. Oubliette, some good ideas there, thanks
  11. I'm at lvl40 with this build and getting pretty down on it. Pets are always laughing behind. I didn't realized pets died after 4 minutes, even if they take no damage, and one set recharges at 8:00 minutes base. I feel useless on teams, I'm not taking any damage, but also not dishing anything to a level that matters. Maybe double maneuvers, etc... helps the team, but I don't want my main contribution to have that I showed up. I'll need to take couple days break. Maybe PL to 50 and try the purples and superiors, but I doubt it's going to.ake much difference since it mostly brings me extra recharge.
  12. I made a crab spider, currently with the default armor and backpack, for my Itsy B Spider character. Male model. small (4ft?) and uses the beat run power to look more spider like when moving around. I don;t really like the default armor, too solider, not "insect" like enough, but I have not been able to come up with an alternative. Ideas?
  13. I think this should allow you to save Omega's build for import in Mid's Reborn. I know back in the day my crab had Mako's pool for Bile Sptay or whatver it's called for extra -res, so I will play with that instead. Click this DataLink to open the build!
  14. It would have been nice if you had exported the data blob too, makes it easier to import in Mid's for tweaking. Maybe I'll recreate it and post it.
  15. Oubliette, I don't get it it. The trick to modify files above only affect your own PC, other people will have to do the same on their side to get the same benefit
  16. Happened to us a couple of days ago, I did use the base TP to get to Steel (I was the leader) and a couple other teammates went with me. No idea what door it was. A couple people seemed upset at losing the 6 merits. We looked around after finishing the AV but couldn't find him.
  17. The thread was not as much about being able to use both as the fact the SP doesn't only affect the caster as my teammate was claiming. It's a relatively cheap and fast power to cast so I find myself using it along with FS without worrying too much whether everyone is already at Max boost or not. Teammates don't always seem to realize that by not engaging with the rest of the group they may be missing out, so they may at least get the mini buffs from later SPs.
  18. I don't know, did anyone say they didn't comprehend it?
  19. Ah yes, I forget the +3% def comes with some resist too, so that explain why you delayed it. I need to read up on AoE def, I seem to be reading different opinions about how much pure AoE there is out there. Thanks for the advice on Repel, I haven't taken it yet and remember not liking it on Live in the days you couldn't make it do KD, and the endurance cost definitely is high.
  20. Yeah I agree, even if my damage is still a small percentage of the team, Amplify's ToHit component makes it the more useful of the two. You mentioned that the -res proc in Howl doesn't necessarily proc much, would you move the slot somewhere else? Extra EndRed in Repel or even EndMod in SB? I could add that slot to Tough to get the 3% def from Gladiator Armor earlier, and replace Increase Density with Inertial reduction potentially (I like ID early in the game, especially for the status protection, but I feel like in the late game most people have their resistance and status protection taken care of, but again IR is more of a nice-to have and if you don;t have access to it before 41, maybe it's not worth getting? So many choices 🙂 You obviously think proc in Dreadful Wail is worth it since you're giving up 2.5% AoE defense for it. I will likely swap a few slots order to gets bonuses earlier when leveling or examplared (possibly swap the last slot in health with the one in tactics) and move the +3% def from Charged Armor to Tough, probably swap Kismet and shield Wall in weave, minor stuff like that.
  21. actually which build has the edge is really a matter of opinion, the second build has softcapped melee/ranged withouht the epic shield, and softcapped S/L resist (capped at 75% for Defenders). I do like the ton of accuracy and extra recharge of the second build though, in addition of the already mentioned access to more powers in the secondary.
  22. OK, so I am hesitating between your build (or something very close to it, I would consider replacing Superspeed with Repel with an EndRed and a Knockback to Knockdown IO) and the following build They both have advantages and disadvantages, and your has a slight edge at lvl50 I think, but I like to examplar a lot, so it's going to take work to figure out which works best at lvl25 for example. I do like the fact that your build has more attacks and uses more of the powers from both sets. 23. So I was on a TF yesterday and a teammate kept insisting that Siphon Power only affects the caster, despite the obvious icon on every teammate next to me when I cast it (and possibly next to my target? I wasn't able to determine that, things were going too fast) As far as I know Fulcrum Shift is like running Siphon power of a group of targets simultaneously no? Once you get FS, do you keep using SP much? I assume they stack with each other and so does the -dmg, and SP is up more often, so maybe spam it in between FS applications?
  24. how bad is the per hit endurance drain? Mid's doesn't seem to show it. It shows a .78/s endurance drain, so it's an expensive power to run (so is hurricane for that matter).
  25. yeah, I have Weave and Tough, but I really mostly needed an attitude adjustment, I have been playing mostly 50s for too long and every one of them as softcapped defense and high res, so even my corruptors and controllers can open and take the alpha. I just need to remember to jump in second, right after the tank or brute or scrapper takes the alpha, then jump in for Siphon Power for the melee characters, jump back out for AoE howl and possibly another SP for ranged characters. I did 2 TFs yesterday andthe only times I died is when I forgot and tried to absorb the alpha (although I also had a teammate spamming ice shields on me and got the occasional Fortitude, so I need to remember I had help surviving).
