  1. Tequila won't let me play the regular game until it has finished to update the beta client, or more exactly its new pigg files , which appears to be a significant one today. That's poor design, so I want to remove beta from the options list, save some harddrive space and let me play the game instead of waiting how do I do that?
  2. So you just download the new client and off you go? Should you uninstall the old client? I can't find any explanation about this.
  3. 3x an hour sounds about right, unless I'm afk, but then I wouldn't use windfall.
  4. I made it a point to solo this build a lot because I find it's the best way to understanding its powers, strengths and weaknesses. I didn't use 2x XP at all. I did do all TFC task forces in teams as soon as I was high enough top run them, or not close enough. This game is kinda slow at low levels. You're fighting endurance issues, your attack chain and mitigation is limited, etc... Make sure you get the P2Win attacks like sands of Mu and Nemesis staff to fill those in. I levelled with something close to this build (I think the OP has suggestions for leveling, like tactic tactics to get perma snipe). I thought it was a very effective build for levelling, with the usual caveats, like endurance management. Juggling slow on one for and attacks on another really helps, and the -ToHit aura helps survivability a lot (but not endurance). Do what all lowbies do, use inspirations, use the prestige enhancements with their DMG Process component... By the 20s I started really feeling invincible and bit the dust more than once for taking on more than I could chew. I am an aggressive player. I don't mind debt, although I hate time wasted in trips to the hospital. Pushing the limits of the build at every level is what helps you get good with it. While I don't care that others PL or DFB/DiB I enjoy the early levels and getting to see your character grow with every level. The hollows used to be my favorite zone. Even getting to the mission used to be a challenge, but it taught me to move around better than anything.
  5. That was my experience with Windfall as well. Didn't get any purple in an hour if comic con and the main increase was in rare useless recipes. I think it may have also boosted inf but I can't remember for sure. It's still all an RNG. Out of 20 packs I have gotten 13 ATOs, one windfall and tons of pretty worthless crap like respecs, team inspirations, etc... I don't think I made my money back and if I did it was way too much work to get there. I am done with those. I'll leave them to others with better luck.
  6. I didn't know who Darth Malak was and haven't fired up the game yet, but after looking him up I can see how you can come up with a good match. Now my kids are asking me to stop fighting so they can see the characters better. Time to take one of my heroes that has invisibility and go on an exploration your only. I tried to make a Buzz Light-year costume in my own a while back and want satisfied so I can appreciate the genius in you pulling it off.
  7. The invulnerable Seer grants you fortitude which is nice, but Lore Pets has a such a long recharge time that they rarely make much difference. I also like the Warworks because they have -regen and help AV fights go faster
  8. you're going to make me go farm just to spot Malcom
  9. Hovering doesn't mean that I'm far away. But I find that hovering above or slightly to the side of the group is often a good way to hit the most teammates with AM, place my ice storm or blizzard, etc... Rad toggles have a decent range too. In the end it's as a much of a character concept thing as anything else. I have a Fire/Time corruptor that is very much a middle of the pack, stick-to-the-tank build and I wanted them to play differently. The good news is that the current build isn't really broken. In fact i'm constantly surprised at how much I can get away with and not die given the not so stellar numbers in Pine's. For example I ended up in the Council mission from Unai Kemen and wiping entire groups by myself without breaking a sweat or bring in danger. Ice has great mitigation built in. It's also the one character I tend to run LRSF with and tend to fare better than a lot of teammates. Looking forward to see what you come up with. I can always store my WIOs for an alt or sell them back if it turns out they weren't needed. I'm hoping I don't have to buy another home set if purples or WIOs but I will find a way to find it off it's really worth it.
  10. I don't have access to a computer atm but I wonder if the KB protection can be freed by putting a blessing of the zephyr in one of the travel powers like one of the sprints? This a hoverer character so KB causes you to do a quick flip in place and IOS not nearly as bad as on a ground based character, so one -KB IO is enough. I like to say that her feet touch the ground only when defeated or when she needs to open an Ourobouros portal. Not sure where I would put the slot yet if indeed I can drop that.
  11. Defense is often the priority however it may depend on synergies with your power set, especially your secondary. Sometimes you can't get there with positional defense, I which case you may want to focus on S&L. Don't ignore AoE if you go for positional. I myself make recharge a big priority, it feels like no matter what AT or power set there is always something I want to make perma (including hasten) and then your nuke and other big hitters are up almost very group. There are many posts with suggested builds that you can analyze even if they are not your power set . What is interesting is that you will often taken or slot powers that you wouldn't otherwise. Someone helped me improve my ice/rad in a different thread and I have 5 winter IOs in brawl (which I never use and is not in my tray).
  12. Sounds impressive. What level do you run those at? +0? I haven't tried to solo a TF since homecoming brought the game back, maybe I'll have to give it a try again.
  13. Thanks, good ideas. I'm definitely not getting my money's worth out of fallout. Teammates either don't die, get rezzed before I can fire it off, or are out of range to fire it off too much of the time. I have also delayed incarnates even though she is vet level 15 or so. I do have my alpha T3 and T2 or 3 Judgement but I have been wishy washy on Destiny. Mostly not sure if I want to go Radial for the secondary boosts or Core for the perma mezz protection. I will likely have both eventually but I don't have enough threads/salvage yet for that.
  14. OK, what was confusing is that the HoT component adds up to the same number as RA's number so I thought you were saying the total heal was the same as RA when it's in fact significantly higher. Makes sense, thanks for the explanation. One thing I like about the HoT is that you can fire it off preventatively.
  15. I'm loving /time but didn't follow the comparison with Radiant Aura. It heals the same but is not up as often. So only hit RA very 18s unless you need it now?
  16. You can talk the gull in Pocket D and change alignment instantly, so go Vigilante or Hero long enough to run it.
  17. Took the build for a spin last night. I did add the Sudden Acceleration KB->KD to Quasar, and I switched the Performance Shifter in Stamina for a regular IO because as far as I know it makes no differerence (both at+5) and I beyond stamina, I only boosted the recharge in Hasten, but I haven't yet boosted the defense IOs The build gets a double thumbs up! It will get a little getting used to after going triform for so long, for example I miss Nova for navigating vertically, but I have other superspeeders so I know it's not a problem. The Tin Mage TF felt a little awkward at first, but I also ran an ITF and finished clearing the towers by myself, and had no problems at +4. Next step is to try farming with it, but I suspect that as long as you don't afk and let Eclipse lapse, it should work pretty well. EDIT: tried it quick over lunch. No problems, Comic Con Bloody Rainbow farm on x8+4 is easy, the damage is more bursty than on my dedicated farmer toon but you have plenty of bodies to reful, explode, etc... The extracted essences die before you are even done summoning them. so don't bother. If you run the fire farm you don;t even have to bother turning your shields on. the reaon I lie this farm is that if you are lucky you cn get into a "supermob" state where the entire map crowds around you so you ar ealways hitting the max numnber of mobs without chasing. The downside is that it means constant incoming extreme fire so it;'sa good test of sustained survivability and htis build passes with flying colors. You can afk and live like my dedicated farmer which costs me less than 1/4 the price to equip, but it's nice to know oyu have the option to farm with this one hero.
  18. I wouldn;t know what a 70's European porno would like I'm sure. I took the screenshot above on my old laptop and it's not the best either. I should take one form my "good" computer, that's another excuse to farm.
  19. >his Burn would launch mobs a solid 30 feet. you got to post a video!
  20. yup I understand that, that'swhat I asked if I needed ot change them manually. Might be easiest to see if the smae set fits both builds, becuase I'm lazy :)
  21. An example of what I mean about aggroing the whole map and have it feed into your grider (I'm in hte middle of the pile), I've probably cleared 2/3 of them at that point and I have not moved once after recahing the ally. I wish I could create this situation every time I run the map, but sometimes the ally doesn't cooperate, but that't the Nirvana to my Zen, to mix metaphors. I was so busy worrying about taking a screenshot I didn't realized I detoggled Weave which is why my health is moving :) I also was ignoring hte popmenu to generate Red inspirations, under normal circumstances there wouldn't be combinable enhancments in the tray for more than a few seconds.
  22. The farms I like are the relentless ones where every mobs queues up to hit you without any respite between "groups". This means you need to be able to take continuous incoming damage for the 5-6 minutes it takes you to clear the map without any rest. I find that often takes a special build since you can't have any time where a particular defensive power is down for example. Or so that you can attak at full speed continously wihtout endurance probelms and keep sustained dmage. If you do "farm" maps structured like regular content, where you go from group to group in a cave environment for example, then it's not different than soloing any other content. Actually it's easier because I can't think of an AE farm map that has mezzes coming at you so you don't have to worry about that, you get to chose the damage type form the mobs (fire or S/L for exmaple) and some well designed maps have buffer NPCs. My scrapper before incarnates could do any normal content at +4x8 but had a hard time doing the bloody rainbow farm "continuous damage" because even with capped fire defense and high (but not capped) fire resist the damage would eventually overwhelm the regen and I had to run around the outskirts of the map for a lap or too to avoid some of the incoming damage while my green bar refilled or I had to pop green inspirations. I solved it by taking a Destiny ability that has +regen (rebirth?) so that I can refill every 2 minutes. Even the bloody rainbow can be handled as almost regular content where you take mobs one at a time (although patrols often join in) but it's so much slower than using the ally for mega agro and have the entire map piling on you at once. Just like regular content, there are many ways to farm, just find the one that suits your Zen and your character.
  23. noone answered my question about the empty slot in Quasar? I assume it;s for Knockback to Knockdown and the latest Pine appears to have that IO listed, but on the other hand someone mentioned Quasar sending foes flying out and dispersing bodies?
  24. I've never used to alternate build option until last night and I did so right before I had to log off but I noticed my alpha icon was showing along with my accolades on the status bar. I'm glad accolades are not tied to a specific build, but it seems to imply that incarnates are not either? I haven't quite thought that far but if I decide I want different incarante abilities to complement my two builds, they will not change automaticlaly with the build, I will have to swap them manually? I can figure it out in gmae but I had to log and it may be a few days before I can play again.
