I've never taken Aid Self on a Shield character and I've played 3 of them to 50, BS/SD scrapper, Elec/SD stalker and SD/Fire tanker. Of the three the Elec/SD stalker is the most capable of dropping huge spawns very quickly... 3 moves and everything but a boss is dead. One thing you may want to consider about a Stalker though is you'll always have Hide active, it's a significant amount of AOE defense even when suppressed and a core part of a stalker's functionality. If you don't want the transparent effect then roll a Scrapper or Brute. It does sound like SR fits your character concept; it offers defense, recharge and run speed bonuses. For the primary you could go with MA or Street Justice for unarmed attacks. As an option you can go with Claws and choose the "widow claws" option giving you spiked gloves instead of actual claws. Would that work with your idea?

I want a new mouse, looking for suggestions.

I never liked the 12 button on the side mice, I couldn't keep track of what was what. I've tried a couple and I have a Razor with interchangeable side panels, one is a standard two thumb buttons, one has 9 arranged in a radial pattern and one has 12 set up in rows. The 9 thumb buttons was ok with some getting used to but the 12 button was a waste of time, I could never tell without looking what button I was pushing on it. The Logitech has 4 very distinct thumb buttons that are easy to discern by feel and the buttons on top are simple enough. -
Most TF's I've run the leader will ask about desired difficulty, and depending on level typically it ends up +1 for the first mission and if we're handling it easily it gets bumped to +2 for the rest of the TF. If it's a team of all 50's then likely we'll go to +2 from the start. I do think Synapse should be run at base level, it's long and boring enough without taking the added time killing higher level mobs. That's the "big 6" TF that's most in need of a rewrite.

Indeed. Currently there's only 2 or 3 that are valuable, most are, or at least were a month or so ago, worth only a hundred thousand or so.

Cytos are the ideal slotting for Invincibility. It's a tough tradeoff to either slot for set bonuses or to enhance 3 aspects of the power.

You know Hyper, I was running an STF years ago, not long after they added his tether when we tried the hover tanking method. He jumped up to the balcony, jumped up to the next ledge and then stood there doing nothing at all. It was the easiest kill we ever had even though we had a couple of characters without any method of vertical travel. The tower buffs dropped off of him, his AI went for a cup of coffee and his avatar ignored everything. In all the STF's I ran before or since I never had that happen again. We took the win of course, and reported the glitch afterwards.

Finished Peebles Missions in Striga and Didn't get Wedding Band

Well, as of a couple months ago the Oro version gave the full 2 hour ring provided the character had not yet done the arc. I can only assume that the characters in question got flagged as having the ring but never actually got it. -
HO's did indeed have 50% enhancement values. I'm not sure when that changed but it was sometime prior to the change to the raid, likely around the time that ED dropped.

"You've spent a total of 1343 hours on patrol."

Back on Live CMA had somewhere around 5k hours online. I haven't checked anyone here but I doubt any character's much over 200. -
That was my recollection as well. Ideally I'd like a respec system where you'd export your build to Mid's, make changes and then import the Mid's build into the game. I know, that's a pie in the sky thought and likely way more work than it's worth.

I've noticed it shifting at times when undocked but not to that extent. I have it in the lower middle left of the screen and it'll move up and right a little every so often. Not much, but slightly annoying.

I've done the arc through Oro on a level 50 and I got the ring for the full 2 hours. I hadn't done the arc before on that character so it worked like it was supposed to, first run gets the 2 hour version. I seem to remember on Live that the Oro second version was supposed to be 30 minutes, am I wrong in my memory or was it changed somewhere along the line? -
The buds still spawn now and their a PITA since they prevent Hami from spawning until they're all gone.
-
I remember seeing that years ago on Live once. When it happened NOTHING would cause the mobs to do anything other than stare at the dead player. On the good side since they stood there ignoring everything but the dead body the rest of the team simply killed them while they ignored the team and the incoming damage. It only happened once in all the years I played and it was on a mid level mission on an office building map, I can't recall any more specifically than that other than I think it was pre-IO and we were likely in the 20-40 level range.

Yep, false positive on the AV program. Part of it may be that you have the game in one of the protected folders; I always have a /Games folder in the root of the drive to avoid that. My CoH folder is C:/Games/City of Heroes And like Roderick said the playerslot.txt file simply tells the game what order your characters are in, your characters themselves are stored on the server. Deleting your entire CoH installation on your computer will have no effect on your characters at all.

It's possible I'm miss remembering, it was a long time ago and I'd just started playing. My first raid was late issue 3 and it was a 45 and up zone then and getting a hit on Hami got you a HO when he died. I do recall low level characters getting HO's somehow and forget the exact mechanic.

Yep, you need to create your (free) account before you have your login credentials.

Sounds like your CoH install is corrupt, I'd completely uninstall COH, reboot and then install from scratch. Does this problem occur on all characters or just one? -

It was still running about a year or so, I rolled up a trial character to see what it was like now. It seemed it was fairly similar to what it was when it launched and I quit after a week. -

I'm not sure if he's a plus or minus for an MMO. From the opinions and attitudes he posted on the old forums I think COH was successful in spite of him, not because of him. -

The Orbweaver is a bit of a stretch if you don't have long fingers so be aware of that. For me with the palm rest as short as it goes I can't comfortably reach the top row of buttons... but I do have shorter than average fingers. -
Immediately it will be the one you already have, no need to reroll. From what I understand it'll benefit AOE the most however.

They work like SO's actually, so they scale just like SO's do. They're just 2 or 3 SO's in one slot.

That was kind of my thought when I rolled CMA. I'd played 20 or so levels with a blaster with a severe fetish for munching carpet (and not in a good way either) and wanted to stay alive. The first time I jumped into a group that would have flattened my blaster instantly and noticed my health didn't even move I was hooked. Tankers were tough! Then I found the early Invuln guides for issue 2-3 and respected... I was INVINCIBLE! I think CMA only died once or twice the entire 1-50 trip... a huge change from that blaster who died multiple times per mission.

Way back in issue 2 or 3 it was possible to get into the Hive below level 45. Lowbies would SK to get their hit on Hami during the Hold phase, then they'd drop team before he died and would get a lower level HO. That was patched somewhere around that time making it impossible to get in the zone below 45 and HO's were patched to always drop at level 50. I really don't know why the auction house has categories for below-50 HO's other than for legacy back on Live. Now as far as I know it's impossible to have a non-50 HO. In today's game HO's vary from useful and desirable to utterly worthless thanks to the availability of Set IO's. Even setting aside bonuses you can still use a multi-aspect IO to accomplish the same thing a HO could do. There's a few HO's that are worth money and a lot that aren't worth much at all.
