  1. HO's did indeed have 50% enhancement values. I'm not sure when that changed but it was sometime prior to the change to the raid, likely around the time that ED dropped.
  2. Back on Live CMA had somewhere around 5k hours online. I haven't checked anyone here but I doubt any character's much over 200.
  3. That was my recollection as well. Ideally I'd like a respec system where you'd export your build to Mid's, make changes and then import the Mid's build into the game. I know, that's a pie in the sky thought and likely way more work than it's worth.
  4. I've noticed it shifting at times when undocked but not to that extent. I have it in the lower middle left of the screen and it'll move up and right a little every so often. Not much, but slightly annoying.
  5. I've done the arc through Oro on a level 50 and I got the ring for the full 2 hours. I hadn't done the arc before on that character so it worked like it was supposed to, first run gets the 2 hour version. I seem to remember on Live that the Oro second version was supposed to be 30 minutes, am I wrong in my memory or was it changed somewhere along the line?
  6. The buds still spawn now and their a PITA since they prevent Hami from spawning until they're all gone.
  7. I remember seeing that years ago on Live once. When it happened NOTHING would cause the mobs to do anything other than stare at the dead player. On the good side since they stood there ignoring everything but the dead body the rest of the team simply killed them while they ignored the team and the incoming damage. It only happened once in all the years I played and it was on a mid level mission on an office building map, I can't recall any more specifically than that other than I think it was pre-IO and we were likely in the 20-40 level range.
  8. Yep, false positive on the AV program. Part of it may be that you have the game in one of the protected folders; I always have a /Games folder in the root of the drive to avoid that. My CoH folder is C:/Games/City of Heroes And like Roderick said the playerslot.txt file simply tells the game what order your characters are in, your characters themselves are stored on the server. Deleting your entire CoH installation on your computer will have no effect on your characters at all.
  9. It's possible I'm miss remembering, it was a long time ago and I'd just started playing. My first raid was late issue 3 and it was a 45 and up zone then and getting a hit on Hami got you a HO when he died. I do recall low level characters getting HO's somehow and forget the exact mechanic.
  10. Yep, you need to create your (free) account before you have your login credentials.
  11. Sounds like your CoH install is corrupt, I'd completely uninstall COH, reboot and then install from scratch. Does this problem occur on all characters or just one?
  12. It was still running about a year or so, I rolled up a trial character to see what it was like now. It seemed it was fairly similar to what it was when it launched and I quit after a week.
  13. I'm not sure if he's a plus or minus for an MMO. From the opinions and attitudes he posted on the old forums I think COH was successful in spite of him, not because of him.
  14. The Orbweaver is a bit of a stretch if you don't have long fingers so be aware of that. For me with the palm rest as short as it goes I can't comfortably reach the top row of buttons... but I do have shorter than average fingers.
  15. Immediately it will be the one you already have, no need to reroll. From what I understand it'll benefit AOE the most however.
  16. They work like SO's actually, so they scale just like SO's do. They're just 2 or 3 SO's in one slot.
  17. That was kind of my thought when I rolled CMA. I'd played 20 or so levels with a blaster with a severe fetish for munching carpet (and not in a good way either) and wanted to stay alive. The first time I jumped into a group that would have flattened my blaster instantly and noticed my health didn't even move I was hooked. Tankers were tough! Then I found the early Invuln guides for issue 2-3 and respected... I was INVINCIBLE! I think CMA only died once or twice the entire 1-50 trip... a huge change from that blaster who died multiple times per mission.
  18. Way back in issue 2 or 3 it was possible to get into the Hive below level 45. Lowbies would SK to get their hit on Hami during the Hold phase, then they'd drop team before he died and would get a lower level HO. That was patched somewhere around that time making it impossible to get in the zone below 45 and HO's were patched to always drop at level 50. I really don't know why the auction house has categories for below-50 HO's other than for legacy back on Live. Now as far as I know it's impossible to have a non-50 HO. In today's game HO's vary from useful and desirable to utterly worthless thanks to the availability of Set IO's. Even setting aside bonuses you can still use a multi-aspect IO to accomplish the same thing a HO could do. There's a few HO's that are worth money and a lot that aren't worth much at all.
  19. First travel? Flight of course. By the time CMA reached 14 I picked up TP because some idiots had told me how uber it was. Suffered with it until 24 when I ran the respec mission then I went with Combat Jumping/Super Jump... a combo I've had on many characters since. That and Fly are the two I end up choosing between on everything.
  20. Separating the 4 patrons is easier said than done. The most reliable method I've seen is to snipe one from extreme range. Anytime we tried to pull from closer in we ended up getting all 4 eventually.
  21. Keep your defenses up and you should be good.
  22. After running the Hollows on dozens of alts over the years I have zero interest in the zone. Frostfire is a good mission and it's fun but after so many years I just hate the zone with a fiery passion. I haven't set foot in there except for the badges since shutdown.
  23. Are the debuffs auto hit? If not how about some purple candy? Or orange candy? Edit I don't remember having much problem tanking it with both Shield and Invuln, if you can keep your defenses up it should work. If your resistance is getting debuffed then orange candy may solve the problem.
  24. They sure are, if you're the one putting it together you're going to be buried in tells, answering, inviting etc and you'll tend to miss channel comments. I've frequently had a teammate tell me someone was wanting to join that I hadn't noticed with the tells I'd been getting.
  25. It was sometime in the summer or fall of 2005, late issue 2 or early issue 3; I can't recall exactly. I saw the box at Best Buy and though it looked interesting. My very first character was a Fire/EM blaster that I played up to about level 20 when my unskilled play style clashed with my desire to avoid the floor. I rolled up an Invuln/Stone Melee tanker named Call Me Awesome and found my niche at the time. CMA became my main, my first level 50 and for the entire run of the live game my most played character with over 5,000 hours at shutdown. That first blaster was deleted and it wasn't until after Going Rogue that I tried again, ironically with the same Fire/EM combination. This time I knew what I was doing and had a lot of fun with that character. In fact, that blaster was the first character I rerolled here on Homecoming and the first 50 I had here. It took awhile before I turned my attention back to CMA, rerolled him and played him to 50.
