Mostly single player titles. Revisiting Skyrim, Surviving Mars, Valheim, Borderlands 2. If I had a comp capable of pushing it, I'd be playing Marvel's Avengers and Icarus.

I grew up watching TOS, and wasn't immediately fond of Next Generation, but grew to like it. DS9 and Voyager.......I just couldn't get into at all, but the lore was still interesting and viable to me personally. When Romulans were made into STO's "gold side" equivalents, I was....not pleased. I saw it as plagiarism and still do. Additionally, the game started taking too much of a pay to win turn. (at least to me, it did. Side note: all this is just my opinion, and what I took away from my in game experiences) Ground mission gameplay was atrocious and balance in PvP was nonexistent. When Cryptic put out Neverwinter.....I tried it. Even max leveled a character. Then they introduced their equivalent of a mission architect and as I recall, claimed they pioneered the concept of players building their own missions. I was vehement. Emmert was again plagiarizing CoH and their innovations as his own. Each one of Cryptic's games left a sour taste in my mouth and I stopped playing them altogether. Again, all this is based upon my in game experiences, and only my opinions. I hope this answers your question. 🙂

I tried CO after the sunset. Even gave it a shot at subscribing, just to give it an even break, but it still felt like a temper tantrum made by Jack Emmert for his "dismissal" from this game's dev team. Plus, outside of the Borderlands franchise, I really don't like the cell shading type graphics. All in all, I'd give the game a "one of" worst MMO ever rating. Craptic...I mean Cryptic games completely screwed up Star Trek imo, and don't get me started on Neverwinter.

Noseless face option. While we're at it, how about that hat too, hmm? Pretty please?

Alternate? as in optional, or another option? Then I'm game. If alternate means replacement, then this sounds like a sure-fire way to get me to delete my PB and WS. I lurve my human form kheldians just the way they are.

Just like the title suggests, hopefully this can become a pinned thread where we can suggest costume pieces. Mine is a noseless face. Not like there's no nose on the mask, and you can turn sideways and see the profile of a nose, but no nose at all. Example: Cad Bane, or Image Comics Pitt.

Great games that were completely wrecked by the end
OldManMercy replied to Techwright's topic in Video Games
I reeeeeeeally enjoyed the mechanics and art and game play of a game called "Worlds Adrift". Basically the planet had shattered, leaving scattered floating islands you could get to by building a skyship. Resource collection, fairly free-form wire frame ship building, excellent character movement concept and application, such a peaceful and tranquil soundtrack, SO MANY things about that game were great. For instance: The materials you gathered for ship building really mattered Several types of wood and metal with quality ratings from 1 to 10 actually had impact on your ship's performance. Oak= heavy and sturdy, Birch= light and flexible, Iron, Steel, Aluminum, Titanium all from quality ratings 1 to 10. What killed it? Well, some people would say it was the addition of another server where PvP could not occur until the highest tier zone.....oh, which reminds me. All zones were separated by walls. Not physical walls, though. Lowest threat wall (from T1 to T2) was a wind wall. Then a storm wall from 2 to 3, and finally a sand wall from 3 to 4. Back to what killed it, though. As far as I can recall, there was a dupe glitch that never got patched out, leading to those that knew how to do it ending up with tier 10 materials to build ships out of, and endless supplies of them. That was the main factor. I personally believe that another huge factor of the game's demise was the seal clubbing that went on. I recall several more popular streamers getting seal clubbed by those with the top tier items at the best quality on live streams, which totally killed any kind of popularity the game could have had. At any rate, Bossa (the developing studio) is at it again, making a spiritual successor to Worlds Adrift called Lost Skies. Animated trailer and one of the devs talking about it here: -
So, back on live there was an odd bug that in the later years nearing shutdown got patched out. It was a character animation bug that swapped the hand clap version of Dawn Strike for the Foot Stomp animation. Is there any way to add that as an optional animation for the power? I really enjoyed the aesthetics of the foot stomp over the hand clap for that. Made my little ball of death look like she was having a temper tantrum, except much cuter.

I was unaware of how well versed in the game lore you are, WN. Kudos to you on that note. However, I remember back when the game was live, the forums at the time of the announcement of the Well of Furries were very split. Many people did not approve of the announcement that their characters' origins weren't what they had initially intended, but simply spooge of the well. I could be mistaken, (and probably am) but I seem to recall you were one of those against the lore announcement. Maybe it was somebody else I used to RP with back on live. If you've had a change of heart, good deal. Change is, after all, the only universal constant. However, I read your post and it seems to me like you're trying to make everyone else follow what -you- think roleplay should look like. Not everyone follows game canon. This does not automatically make them a "bad RP'er" or invalidate their characters in any way, shape or form, and while you certainly didn't say anything like that, I got the distinct feeling it was heavily implied...... which is exactly why I stopped hanging around and involving myself with your RP back on live. Intentional or not, you made me feel like I was either "doing it wrong" or "inferior", and things should always happen just the way you wanted them to. RP is fluid, much like life itself. Constantly changing, and no opinion is invalid or wrong, simply different. Sometimes unpleasant, to be sure....but never outright wrong. Well, unless you're talking about butchering babies as a norm. Or child pornography/abuse. Things of that nature are just sick. (At least to me they are.) To make it clear, I'm not being hostile, nor am I "butthurt" in any way. I moved on. I just felt I had to point this out. I wish you much success and happiness in your gaming. 🙂

well, since it's necro'd anyway, might as well ask a question. Does the incarnate recharge buff to all powers affect permadom building in any way at all?

Neither are my "main" character, but these two are perhaps the most/least played, respectively.

When one persons RP and world building intrudes on everything
OldManMercy replied to DrunkFlux's topic in Roleplaying
Y'know....I had the sheer audacity to make as a character the devil. THE devil. However, I realize the temptation to godmod is powerful, so every time I play him I remember in all the movies I've seen with the devil in them, he's (almost) always beaten. Thusly, my goal when RP'ing with him isn't to be all-powerful but merely.....creepy. Sinister. Perhaps downright scary but never impossible to outhink/maneuver. He's never unbeatable because I've had the extreme displeasure of running into people who play characters like that and know just how frustrating and infuriating it can be to have someone come along and completely wipe out your concepts, ideas and plots for the character you're playing at the moment. I'm not perfect, and do sometimes slip, but it's rare. I encourage anyone who runs into Shaitan during roleplay to call me out if I do. -
....when you could summon a certain celebrity by uttering (well, typing. It's an internet forum, after all..) their name three times. Hickman. Hickman! HICKMAN!!!!!

What is your favorite villain personality?

I wholeheartedly agree. I even have a costume like this, complete with the oozing feet. -
What is your favorite villain personality?
OldManMercy replied to The_Warpact's topic in General Discussion
Pick (almost) any version of the Devil from film or comics. Evil to -be- evil. Manipulative. The kind of personality that just feeds on suffering and misery. I find it a tie between Gabriel Byrne's version from End of Days and Jeff Goldblum's version from Mr. Frost. -
Share your Puns/amusing Character Names
OldManMercy replied to Venture's topic in General Discussion
On live, I made a spoof of the Hulk and called him "The Inedible Bulk". Turns out there's actually a character named the Inedible Bulk. Got generic'd.
