  1. tonight! at least 100, well at least 35 people showed up to help Figs kill ada-mast-or. excelsior's finest, all decked up and prepared - synchro'd buffs. all lore like, all the pieces. he died in under 3s from spawn, his portal still warm enough to toast 'smores. good showing, heroes! also - by popular request, I keep getting whispered, here is Figs' costume file. now you too can dress up as your favorite new hero! (attached, put it in your costume folder and load it up!) figs-dark.costume
  2. I'm @finnthehuman (gasp, yep, my global) - and everyone can feel free to send me kind messages! except if your one of the crazy supremacist people. i enjoy thunderstorms, goats cheese, and expensive character builds! you may have heard rumors, and received excited whispers from other player - about my great costume designs, or my latest fighting HERO - Figs. Hes very famous and quite admired, even at lvl 21. he could use some new shoes.
  3. super strength / radiation! smash, and atom smash! proc bomb, heal your allies, big success!
  4. drop vengance as direct swap. however, if maintaining 5x lotg is a priority: tldr; drop vengance, keep maneuvers, take combat jumping. tactics >>> quicksand ditch leadership and get flight? - !!avoid!! you must be on the ground to cast staligmites. pita to trun on and off all the time. its a cost of earth sets for some abilities. - stealth - its nice, and its a travel power too with infiltration. others: if you have enough powerpools available in build, Leaping/combat jumping is low end toggle and super useful for combat movement, and slots an lotg. --- you can have plenty of accuracy from set bonuses, and if i recall the controller ATOs provide this as part of their sets as a start. you can monitor (in combat attributes) 'last chance to hit' to very closely see if youre missing or not. i use this to know 'oh, hey honoroit (me), its time to turn on focused accuracy' where thats relevant on a character. good luck, have fun!
  5. also a 'dont worry, fairy guidebrother is here' announce on your stone/stone/stone tanker types. well for me anyhow. quicksand is good on controller. yes plus plus. things are hard to hit when theres lowbies in farms, or theyre all buffed up to the nth degree and angry. this, plus other earth control powers, help put a check to that.
  6. i'm excited about Figs' progress! hes lvl 21 now, and because there were not many activites happening this evening, aside a quick posi 2, he became a rogue officially, and ventured both in cap au diablo, and echo: dark astoria! he can kill +5 luddites, so he cleared out cap university grounds in his late teens. the pavement isnt as hot on the rogue isles, and the lighting of the zones is more washed out, so that was nice. dark astoria was tricky, because the mobs start at 21... had to ninja a kill then run away... not very effective, and too much at lvl 16. but a posi 2 was a big lvl boost, and robot do not like energy damage + toxic. nor do cot ghosts. so that went well. and... soon... he'll have devastating blow! if you see him in your travels, wish him the best! (figs - who misses the sea and wishes he could be a titan weapons stalker) also wishing i took the cone attack, but am sticking without it... sands of mu, keep me whole.

    Magic

it looks very magical, all rune tracing and so.
  8. the prism drop rste could use a big bump. it takes a LONG time not to buy these of you prefer the coh cycle of 1-50 on repeat, across many alts, styles and things... as opposed to running (less than) a handful of activitrs for reasonable accrual at current rates. and indeed, theyre for rp, fun and that. theres no power break. ive bought 10x copies of the legacy cot guide robes now... theyre about 430-450M each. its silly, kupo. and out of reach for folks whore just normal players.theres no need to lock up the candy. psst - especially higher drop rate for prisms redside... was lonely in cap today.
  9. even if for only the def debuff (25% base defense on controller), which stacks with your other -DEF powers, quicksand is up all the time. your team will appreciate it, even if they dont actively notice that theyre hitting everything. i like it.
  10. hasten its that good, kupo. it speeds all the cooldowns, including its own. it really is amazing, kupo! stacking other cooldown reducers with hasten, also great, bigly huge great, kupo. for a kineticist, siphon speed is faster recharged by hasten, and hasten speeds siphon speed. how marvelous, kupo! we'll leave aside the others delivered such as a quicker heal, mana refill, stacking dmg boost with a set duration, and other greatnesses, kupo. all the offset powers are sped up too! - so inferno or blizzard / else is MUCH more frequent, kupo. when kin, you put probably 50-60% of power activation time to kin, kupo. thats a lot, kupo, so the openings you have, you want to occupy them with hard hitting skills, heavy cc, or whatever your offset can bring best, most often, kupo. (you wanna use the strong ones, so you have to go fast)
  11. sure, but point being, you spin up faster in general occupying all the abilities, and can reduce slot focus on recharge one you perma hasten, using siphon speed on cd. same reasoning behind inclusion of force feedbacks, its to reach a point of recharge reduction, and keep it as high as possible. how much one wants to focus on that - bc hasten help a LOT, is of course to the taste of the player, kupo.
  12. if you include siphon speed on cooldown, thats dragging hasten recharge with it too. we want fulcrum on max / damage capped NOW and ALWAYS, says every team. tighter helps with a crappy hit, which can occur on occasion, such as post alpha strike from empowered team. got to go fast! run on a hamster 🐹 wheel, thats what kin is all about!
  13. so far rad/rad: Figs, who was banished of his forest, and found himself upon paragon - when captured by crey scientists, no less, via some portal experimentation magicks, no doubt. wide eyed, and squint, blind stung from oil glanced shiny, too shiny! over shiny concrete! it was morning again. it was too hot for figs. there was no lichen here, no birch bark to crunch for lunch in this place, no buttered hot porridge, not even rasberry jams. only hard stone boxes, a dismissive, clear browbeaten, metropol citizenry, and ground too hard for bare feet. it was too hot for figs. the waters not clean, he drank from atlas park lake, it tasted of silt, lead, and paint, no brine and froth, no snails and stuff! Figs was lost, and terribly misses the sea. contaminate splash is exceptional, dmg is good, survivability is poor, but am lvl16 so thats just a thing. very happy with it!
  14. nice ones (i think): 10x prisms: clockwork prince several devouring earth ones the rikti gunman (who has a gun arm, looks like youre shooting it on some powersets without a weapon, but unfortunately clips badly on dual pistols, assault rifle, and worst beam weapon - in all cases. we need an 'invisible weapon/bare/hands' option. note: 10x prism rikti gunman looks better than the 100x one. 100x prisms: cot legacy guide cot legacy thorncaster 250x prisms: shadow aura elec aura fire aura visit icon costume change to set the effect, there are several for each.
  15. the atlas park one is about 30s run from where you spwn as a new character. run up the stairs, go right along and forward past the front of the city hall building, along its right side facing it. in a car park, and marked on the map, is a white box truck, jump in! youre in pocket d entrance lobby, locate the elevators, be sure to tip the bouncer, and youre there. essential route - directly over to the red side, to the holgram vendor, so you can buy a prismatic costume to use in dfb... then decide you dont like the character and regret 40/400m spent! do this repeatedly.
  16. when youre sapped it can stop endurance recovery for a time, meaning youre locked at 0 for a bit. this will prevent you doing thing that cost almost no end, such as turning back on toggles. it feels miserable, but if there were mobs phased, that may have saved you. grav has the best version, they can turn it off (activated-toggle), it lasts up to 20s, does an immob and is an in/out affair in that bubble. inside you can kill stuff there with you, outside you cannot effect those in the bubble. dark affinity has black hole. its quick cast ~1.5s, and just phases mobs in a oneshot. those will look as if normal after the power plays, but will be immune (unless you happen to be phase shifted also, which would be rare). it can be annoying, but in skilled hands is 'and then we didnt wipe'. its a hard cc with cost in that you cant steamroll for the duration as mobs immune, in black holes case, and one of the most misundedstood and powerful hard controls in gravitys version. it did nothing to your endurance. team got sapped.
  17. a stalker's story - cruel oath: LV1 Once, long ago, there was a group of seven boys who were born in the same village. Though they were not brothers by blood, they treated each other as family. LV2 One cold night, a fortune-teller appeared and warned of a traitor among them. The boys laughed it off and went about their business, but the next morning, one of them lay dead. LV3 With each passing night, another boy died. The survivors grew more and more suspicious of each other, each harboring terrible doubts about what happened to their brothers. LV4 On the morning of the seventh day, a single survivor stood tall. Cleaning the blood from his hands, he chuckled to himself. "Better go find the traitor!"
  18. definate power creep agenda, kupo
  19. if you mean taunt exists as a power you can select, like scrapper confront, or say stalker placate - yes.
  20. oh, youre right on spine burst, i read cod wrong. if its the same i can handle it. i'll miss fling tho, but siphon is welcome, as is the random splash of contaminate (we'll see if that crits, dont think so, and not fussed... its not marked as doing so, it actually happens via an ability called 'decontaminated' which does dmg and removes the debuff) the no draw thing really helped spines. it feels good now. despite lacking quills, and impale being slowish (but good range and anti fly), and ripper being just awful - its good. battle axe made the short cones mini sphere aoes... and i hope is the design philosophy by homecoming team going foward, and makes updates to other sets. it is vastly easier to use / actually hit multiple targets.
  21. ok, for science.... ill do a rad/rad. its not that elec isnt awesome - elec/shield was a fun one, but one noted. abusing rad armor recovery with procs, providing a team heal, and having a st high damage that i need to make myself just use on cd, and never wait for contaiminated (just taking the base 2x80hp heal when it happens) is nice for survive. its slowish, at 2.38s. likewise atom smasher is super slow compared to thorn burst, double cast time almost (1.67 vs 3) but it hits harder, and would prolly proc well at 22s base vs 15 in spine burst. so many choices...
  22. re: staff fighting - currently raising a rad/staff tanker, and the cones are massive. 'king the fairy king' ty for heads up on thunderstrike, fake aoe, no ty. all in all youre paying a lot for that tp, and having it be energy dmg. thorns is good - the aoe burst from stealth can mess stuff proper. its on a 15s base cooldown, and is 15ft, so its a regular for me. i loved my spines/bio 'psalms of oranbega' however... rad... seems decent, rad melee, a couple of % to disorient (~60%, and mag 3 and 2 on the aoe) a heal, if the mob is contaminated. i remember this being a drop annoying. a mix of energy, toxic, and smashing. contaminated makes a 'portion' of dmg splash. ive also never properly tried rad melee. Hitting a Contaminated target with Contaminated Strike, Radioactive Smash, Radiation Siphon and Devastating Blow cause a portion of the power's damage to be dealt to up to 5 nearby foes.
  23. ill test it, but have strong misgivings! its like eggplant slices... its fine buried in lasagna, but is like slime goo when served as a slab. maybe cross-punch is delicious! i think @Riot Siren may have given more solid reasons - but hell, that what the beta server is for. neither the two of you take the pbaoe. activation time? it has me thinking spines more and more... ripper is a skip, but fling thorns and the pbaoe do very well... the rad aoe is nice, but its hardly frequent. elec probably has a better ST chain. rad melee would be nice thematically, ice is nice but i have an ice/bio i got fed up with, but that was probably bc it was /bio...
  24. i wont slot fighting pool attack powers, on principle. im wondering spines vs elec with a rad now, which has pretty great slot diversity and no longer suffers draw time... 🤔 id take combat teleport vs super speed. bound on powexec_location target, it makes distances a non factor, chasing blaster aoe dregs is less fun imo.
  25. while im not about to fetch them, many builds posted here on these forums remove taunt - favoring instead aggro forward attacking, and just body pulling w punchvoke, taunt aura, and whatever one can fling. im inclined of this way. combat teleport, or taunt? ill take the 3x hop skip. i used to run taunt a lot, but 5 targets, a steamroll, and the fact it wont stick regardless of slotting if you are indeed herding to cap... means it is excluded. and im probably the best tanker on homecoming, certainly excelsior, so Id know.
