  1. Coulson did refer to dying as his superpower. 😉
  2. Loved Rook back in my college days. Friends and I would spend way too much of our study time in makeshift Rook tournaments.
  3. Late to the party by an hour. For all I know you've bought already. I'd even suggest starting at 16 GB, if possible. I did a very quick glance-through on the thread. I'll just add a minor point. One think to consider is USB ports and what that might mean for the future of the computer. Some of the offerings have USB black, which is USB 2.0 at a slower transfer speed. Less expensive, but slower transfer rates, and aging technology. USB blue, or USB 3.0, spotted on one PC on your list that is sold out, is notably faster. Also USB 3.0 comes in "flavors": 3.1 giving 10 Gbps transfer speeds and 3.2 giving 20 Gbps. Some pitch these with Generation names as well. If you see that, and you want 10 Gbps, don't go for "Gen 1" go at least "Gen 2". Here's a nice little write-up on the various USB colors and meanings: https://tech-fairy.com/what-is-the-meaning-of-the-different-usb-port-colors-blue-teal-blue-yellow-red-black/
  4. You ah...you do brush your teeth often, yes?
  5. I'd say "yes, yes it is". A good example is Marvel's own "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.". The Whedon style is full of twists, some of them quite shocking, and fans expected it when watching "Agents...". They were not disappointed.
  6. Getting right into the spirit of "Second Chances" with a new Seismic Blast/Dark Miasma Corrupter Still working on the backstory, but with a gold cybernetic hand, and Goldbricker costume parts, he's pretty sure to have a past tie to that gang. Incidentally, I mentioned in another thread that I often use clipping of costume parts to my advantage, but I think this one takes the cake. (And yes, I know the actual adjective is "stygian", but I like the word play, so "Styxian" becomes his first name. 😛) Styxian Stone
  7. I wonder how much it actually is, though. Clearly with a movie every 2 to 3 years Renner wouldn't be able to play the character much longer as an action hero, but if they're building a Young Avengers, as seems very apparent, they're going to need a couple of things: 1) a base. SHIELD is gone (unless they acknowledge a rebuilding, as in the "Agents of..." series), Avengers tower was sold, and Avengers HQ is a pile of rubble. Clint has the connections to look into getting another base. 2) Mentorship. The young'ns need someone to show them the way. Now that could be Bucky and Captain Falcon America, but Clint might make a good coach from the base situation room while Sam quarterbacks. I guess it depends on how interested Renner is in exploring the character's sunset.
  8. Yes, October 14, 2025 to be exact. So just under 4 years, or a bachelor's degree in years, if you want to think of it that way. No need to rush into Windows 11.
  9. I'm enjoying the Corrupter Seismic Blast set. One request if I may (and I apologize if I've duplicated something. I read as fast as I could into 8 pages of material, but I'm up against the family supper time): Can something be done about the volume of Seismic Shockwaves? Admittedly I've heard this sound from earth control powers, but for some reason it grows very annoying when emanating from my corruptor, especially since SS has triggered so frequently. I'd be happy with a reduction in sound, or a toggle under options. Realizing neither of those may be practical, might I ask that the COH Modder community come up with a reduced sound or a mute on SS? Again, fun set! At least so far as I've gotten.
  10. First, a question: Whats the "Brickstown update"? when I saw that phrasing (which appears 4 times in regards to bits of it) I went looking through the list, especially the city zone section, but I've seen nothing detailing this. Perhaps I've overlooked something? Second...wow. Just...WOW! I'd been keeping this on the peripheral of my radar, really only noting the new Strike Force and the inner tube emotes, but as I read through the list looking for changes to my characters to which I'd need to adapt, my eyes just got bigger and my jaw more slack. I'm seriously impressed! Hats off to the development team!
  11. I've seen the 2nd episode now, so I'm caught up. I commented mostly with humorous intent on the musical, as in "poor Steve can't catch a break", but then I saw the video you dropped and... wow, uhh..oh dear. Though I'd be delighted to find my wild guess on the dog panning out, there's a little thing called Occam's Razor, and your explanation of the dog's tragic origin fits it very well for explaining why he did a targeted attack. We've just not seen that explanation on screen yet. as to episode 2:
  12. While I've definitely seen some leaders who provide little to no explanation, I've definitely seen a larger share of "Master Of..." trials where seasoned, near-universally respected leaders cannot get folks to pay attention. I've seen multiple occasions where the leaders repeat the steps of the situation multiple times, before and during the trial, often in bold text or duplicating on bright-colored special channels (that all were informed about before going into the trial), and I've even seen a string of other players adding their pleas for people to pay attention only to see several members of the league still mow down the target with no regard to the reward goal or the instructions given repeatedly. The only thing I've not seen these incredibly patient leaders try is individually getting responses from each player going into the trial that they understand the instructions and will abide by them. And frankly, that should not be necessary.
  13. Not sure exactly what you're after but maybe some of this might give fresh ideas? I was able to combine the "Plan 9 Striker with Fin" dual pistols (pic below) with Solarverse's "Star Wars Blaster SFX" mod on CoH Modder for a satisfying "pew pew" pair of weapons. audio sample: While I agree that we could always use more aviator costume parts (would love a good lamb's wool-lined bomber jacket ala "Sky Captain"), a little creativity never hurt. Ace Barnstormer here was created in 2005 from parts available even then.
  14. Do we have beauty contest sashes in the game? I want sashes!
  15. *Glances at thread title* I think you misunderstand. The bird is the least happy thing on this day. JibJab understood that.
  16. Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the sewers...suddenly comes The Creature From...My Alt Account! Dun, Dun, DUUUUUN! (Water Blast/Mental Manipulation Blaster) Aquaphobia1.mp4
  17. I use the slime one colored for water. Aquaphobia1.mp4 Never took you for a gnome! 😉 Actually, I'd like there to be a separation and sorting. Currently we have a lot of "shoulder" options that are actually neck options. Take the neck chains for instance. If we have them, we cannot have a shoulder option. In similar vein, I'd like the "shoulder" items that appear on the biceps currently to be a separate category, so we could have those (with asymmetry) and shoulder items. Additionally we have some bizarre chest and neck overlaps, especially in regard to neckties. Its actually possible to wear 2 neckties: one as a "shoulder" option and one as a shirt/tie chest overlay. Better definement would almost be equal to new pieces, especially if one was to be able to wear bicep, shoulder, AND neck options simultaneously. But if I have to pick something new, then either more shoulder protection choices close to the shoulders (not flying off into space detached from what it is supposed to protect) and/or high, close, tight collars:
  18. I'm not familiar with Bordizzo, but strictly on that photo, she does bear a good resemblance to Sabine Wren. She apparently doesn't have a deep body of work, so undoubtedly this will be her breakout role. IMDB.com says Bordizzo has a black belt in Taekwando, which is going to come in very handy when playing a signature Mandalorian. The voice actors did such a good job, I'm a bit sorry that they didn't create Sabine as looking like Tiya Sircar so Tiya could play her in the live role, like they got Katee Sackhoff to do for her character. For that matter, I could have wished Kallus was modeled on his voice actor, David Oyelowo, and for the same reason.
  19. Just saw the first episode of Hawkeye. Gonna watch the second on Thanksgiving Day to drag it out just a bit, so if I make a comment that doesn't jive with ep. 2 reveals, which some of you've already seen, you'll know why. Thoughts:
  20. I can do a cool backflip using Ninja Run in reverse, and although if left on it will end drain over time, it's not as immediately as devastating as some of the T9 powers. So naw, not sold yet. But thanks for trying! 😄 I step away for two days and end up unexpectedly with a thread discussion that has proven (so far) much greater and more interesting than I thought it would be.
  21. Doesn't stand a chance at really being soft until all the long task forces (*glares at Dr. Q*) are either broken into three pieces or or can be finished by a rookie team in 45 minutes or less. I suppose that's really my only "soft" spot: time sink factor. I love a good fight and a hard challenge, but I've only so much time these days. In the early days of MMOs the games dominated life. You were there on time for long Tuesday nights of raiding or the guilds kicked you. Now we all (hopefully) have some semblance of life outside the game, so the game must yield to that. If that means I get rewards easier so I log off in 1 or 2 hours instead of 5 or 6, so be it.
  22. Amazing! You guessed 3 out of 5! A-argon G-gas? I think it should be thinned out for our safety. *Hugs security blanket tighter* It's A Cat. Throw 'em anywhere and they land on their feet.
  23. Starting all the way back in the original game, I gave up on high level powers that sound great at first but warn that they leave you totally drained of endurance. A few went so far as to say endurance recovery would be a problem for a while. Back then, experimenting with them, I found the penalty to be greater than the benefit. But this is 2021, and we're a much more advanced-in-skill player base. I find it bizarre that the powers still maintain such a strong penalty, so might I ask that someone show me the merits, and possibly the penalty work-arounds, for these powers? If there are none, let me know that as well, and I'll raise the question of why the penalty hasn't been modified or eliminated then.
  24. Personally, I'm a big fan of Dieselpunk, Atomic Punk, Retro-futurism, pulp-era heroes, and movie serial sci-fi. Pretty much everything from 1920s to the mid-1960s, from Doc Savage to Flash Gordon to Johnny Quest. Many of my game characters reflect this. So I was thrilled when I discovered Retropolis: the Art of the Future that Never Was. The link is a store selling T-shirts, posters, coffee mugs, calendars, and other things with retro-futurism art work and catchy titles and quips in the vernacular of the time. The site is always fun to look through and the verbal gags are a hoot. "New, improved Science! Now with Death Rays!". It also has a Pulp Magazine Cover Generator which is fun to tinker with, as well as a Pulp Sci-Fi Title-O-Tron, where you can randomly generate bargain basement titles like The Mines of the Alligator Gypsies and Imprisoned by the Moto-Men of the Death Ray!
  25. Bus stop, wet day, she's stuck, I say Please share my umbrella...
