  1. If you want to absolutely maximize your -res potential, then I would not suggest Sonic Resonance. A Cold/Sonic, Rad/Sonic, or Poison/Sonic would be better (Cold doesn't have a self heal but has more -res and +end in heat loss and sleet, Rad has a self heal and -res just not as much as Cold, Poison has the most -res but it is lacking in heals and -regen). Personally, I'd go with Cold/Sonic.
  2. Ok, I shall inform you as much as I can. Let's assume some things: 1. you can keep 4 -res attacks on a target 2. We will give some advantage to the corruptor by assuming we are at +100% damage (let's say we have a perma soul drain build) 3. We also have sonic resonances -res of 35% or 30% for def/Corr 4. We shall assume that our attack has a base of 100 damage before the damage scale differences. This means the attack will do 75 damage on corruptors and 65 damage on defenders Ok, so corruptor first: 75 damage x 2 (+100% or 200% of the base due to the damage cap)= 150 damage Now we add the four -15% res attacks =60% + the -30% from Sonic Resonance = 90% -res total for the corruptor So 150*1.9 (-90% res)=285 total damage for the corruptor Now the defender: 65 damage x 2(+100% or 200% of the base for damage)= 130 damage Four -res attacks -80% + -35% from Sonic Resonance = -115% 130*2.15= 279 damage for the defender This is less than a 3% difference in overall damage compared to the corruptor. However, the defender is also making everyone else on the team do 25% more damage due to the stronger debuffs AND they have better modifiers on their pool powers further contributing to the team with things like maneuvers, assault and tactics, not to mention things like weave, tough, and other epic resist powers. These numbers did not take into account mob resistance to debuffs, but the overall percentage difference should hold the same. For these reasons I would roll a defender whenever using Sonic Blast. The personal damage numbers favor the corruptor more and more the more damage buffs you have, but on a team, the overall dps contribution will still be higher on a defender even if you are at the damage cap.
  3. Sonic Attack -res all stacks and they also stack with Sonic Resonance. The -res cap is -300%, you will not hit it by yourself and it is hard to hit it even on a full team, especially because it's -300% after the -res effects have been resisted. For that pairing though, I would go for a defender.
  4. I do, but I recently found out about how long screech's -res lasts and so I'll need to retool it a bit. Also, you may want to look into the defender only SG that has been started on everlasting I think (I am not a part of it, but it sounds fun). There is a post in the defender forums about the SG and that is also where you will find my build for a Kin/Sonic defender (it's under something like massive dps boost).

  7. I went the s/l/e route, as you get more recharge this way, but you lose out on soul drain so you won't be buffing your own damage much. This has s/l/e def softcapped, 63% s/l res, 173% recharge, perma hasten, and enough end recov to not have to worry. I still think a cold/sonic or kin/sonic is a better choice overall for you, but here is this.   8. If you want the most noticeable change in team speed go kin/sonic. If you are worried about the prevalence of kins while teaming, go cold/sonic for all the -res (the one problem with this combo is the lack of a self heal, but if you are always teaming it shouldn't be much of a problem, just not the self-sufficient scrapper style of play I like). However, I see from another thread that you already chose thermal/sonic, so I will post a build for you there. I still think kin/sonic is a better choice for your specific goals though.
  9. I strongly suggest you go water/storm as it has good ST, AOE, and it has a heal in dehydrate. Even with maxed s/l res and softcapped def, you are still going to want a way to heal. Also, beware of how much endurance storm uses, the only way I've found to keep up on a corruptor is the ageless destiny. You get some moderate end recov by slotting an end proc in tornado and lightning storm, but its not going to solve all your problems.
  10. What he said. If you are going to go sonic blast, it is far far better to be a defender, even more so if you plan to team. Now if you want personal damage combined with kinetics, then I would go fire/kin corruptor. Well built Fire/Kin Corrs are devastating solo and in groups. Basically anything besides sonic blast primary combined with kinetics is probably better on a corruptor, but the higher -res you get on the defender makes it worthwhile. On some other posts I've talked about why this is, but essentially a damage capped sonic/kin corruptor will only do about 120 damage with a power compared to 117 for the defender with 4 -res sonic powers. Add to that the fact that defenders get much better defensive modifiers and you can make a softcapped pos def, max s/l res, perma hasten kin/sonic defender quite easily. Sonic blast is the one primary blast set that is much better on a defender.
  11. It should work in both, but probably only reliably when you cast tar put and not after. It should work well in Howling Twilight. Honestly, it's probably not worth it in either unless you have a bunch of extra slots. The difference in overall damage performance for a dark miasma build with these two procs wouldn't add much to the overall damage potential.

I took agility because I believe this will be sustainable as long as you have the accolades. I am a little concerned about the end drain though, with 216% recharge you can go through a lot of end (especially with rad).   13. Last one. This goes rune of protection and mace shield, so you are capping S/L/E instead. You get much more recharge this way, but at the cost of overall defense through R/M. You can still scrap with this against most enemies. Just understand that you are much more susceptible to damage when rune of protection is off.   15. So there are many ways to make builds depending on what people want to do and the archetype and power selection. Corruptors often pay a high price by trying to go for the melee and ranged softcap, unless they have defense powers in their secondary (and even then it can be difficult to get the right slots you need where you need them while keeping caps). Unfortunately, the most efficient way to do this is to fully slot things like brawl and boxing, even though you'll never use them they still give you 7.5% melee defense. For example here is an ice/rad build with ranged and melee defense caps, but its recharge and endurance suffers, if I knew I was always going to have ageless I'd use it. If I was going to exemplar though, I would use something else.   16. Rad/time is not very popular, but it's still a good combination. With farsight you can softcap your defense as well as your team's (or get close) and with rad you can have a lot more procs. In general the best epic mastery for most corruptors is going to be dark mastery. It allows you to have perma soul drain, a resist shield, and some endurance recovery. With that being said, if you want to buff your team more you can go soul mastery. This gives you power boost which pushes your farsight up even farther, while still giving you a resist shield and soul drain (but at a much longer cool down). Personally I'd say if you care more about buffing your team, you play a defender. Farsight provides enough defense for most characters anyway in my opinion, so I'd stick with dark mastery.   19. So, as has been said there isn't much synergy between psi and kjn, but there isn't much synergy with any primary really. A fire/kin kinda has synergy with the dots being buffed to the cap too, but is that really synergy? Is it more than the sum of it's parts? Maybe I guess, every other set is just going to bring whatever tools they have to kin and kin is going to bring damage. A 🔥/🏃 will always do the most dmg though. That being said, a psi/kin will work just fine. Kin does well with any pairing, except knockdown heavy blast sets, but even those are manageable with IOs. You will be squishy without IO set bonuses so I always recommend taking combat jumping, maneuvers, and weave. Even in an IO build I typically take those actually. I'll try to get a leveling build and 50 build to you soon. In the meantime you can check out my Kintank thread on these forums for inspiration, there are a lot of iterations of builds in there.
  20. For more damage while keeping some endurance sustain I would strongly suggest taking Dark mastery. It gives you consumption and soul drain, with the right build you can have it perma or almost perma while keeping 45% melee and range softcapped defense. Dark embrace doesn't hurt either, but most masteries give you a resistance toggle.
  21. This one is s/l/e defense while chasing all the recharge possible. It only has 52%ish s/l resistance, but it has 201.3% recharge with only one siphon speed (221.3% with two) and most powers would be at recharge cap with any Force Feedback procs. This one would be the least safe, but would be the most fun to play I'd say. This much recharge makes for a lot carnage around you, I added the slow IOs to blizzard and icestorm over other IOs to keep everything in the AOEs.   24. Yeah, IOs really changed the game completely and you could argue it has never really recovered due to trivializing a lot of the content.
  25. You should never use brawl, but getting the extra defense is worth it when you have the slots. If you or anyone can figure out other ways to get to the softcap without changing the necessary powers of the build, by all means do it and please show me the build.
