  1. This is very true, but I had the space so I put them in for the extra -res every once in awhile.
  2. This was a change that happened on the SCORE server and was carried over to Homecoming. The Blaster cap is 1847 now, while all the Corruptors, Defenders, Controllers, and Dominators are all 1606. Why they buffed blaster HP while leaving everyone else alone is beyond me. The only time to build for the HP cap is in PVP and blasters absolutely did not need the buff.
  3. They are very useful in abilities like tactics, farsight, and venomous gas.
  4. Here is the current toon I have been playing. First thing we need to discuss is why play a corruptor with this pairing over a defender. Well, the corruptor and defender sleets are identical at -30% res and heat loss is only 7.5% less on a corruptor than a defender. We'll make up the extra dmg with a higher base dmg, especially once we get perma soul drain. The defender does get higher defense modifiers, but we can deal with this with IO set bonuses. This is very group friendly at all levels, but really shines after it gets heat loss. The idea here is to get as much -res as possible. If everything procs (unlikely due to sleets relationship with procs), we're looking at -115% res in AOE. Sleet can be applied twice reliably, with an ageless and FF procs three times (this would be -90% res + heat loss+ the other procs), but its hard to count on that ideal situation and even then it would only be for a few seconds. The higher base damage of the corruptor really shines with soul drain and all the -res. I went with water blast because it has a heal in dehydrate with good AOE. This heal alone (slotted the way I have it) is enough to keep me alive and do dmg to +4x8 missions in AE and most other normal content (dark astoria arcs can be harder if you are the only support and you are running +4x8). I cannot stress enough how essential having that heal in your normal attack chain is to keeping myself alive while dealing dmg. Ideally we would get more resistance, but I'm pretty happy at 60% given all the other bonuses. Hasten and soul drain are perma with the FF procs and they go off a lot (even in water burst surprisingly). Another reason to go water with cold domination is that all the knockdowns give you a lot of mitigation. Sleet > Water burst > Geyser means the mobs are falling over pretty consistently. Edit: If you are thinking "why not go storm, wouldnt this be able to do almost as much -res while also doing much more dmg with tornado and lightning storm?" I've thought the same thing and am currently testing both corruptor and defender versions to see if I like it better than this one. For now though, this is the one I have tested to 50 and beyond. This one is quite nice to have if you are teaming with a kin.   5. Here is an out of game builder that we all use to make builds for toons: On the forums and in discord we use this to post builds easily and min/max them. There are several things in your build that can be done more efficiently. As an example here is my build for a water/storm corruptor. It is softcapped to range and melee and has perma hasten through the Force Feedback recharge procs. It eats endurance crazily though and so I only use it in lvl 45+ content because I can use the ageless destiny for end recov. It also have perma soul drain which boosts its damage significantly.   6. Ok, two versions. One is more proc focused and takes musculature. The other goes a more traditional way and is more how I like to build and play things. Honestly I don't make proc builds often so it might be best to just ignore the first one. 🙂

  8. So, yes there is, I'm just not sure you'd have the endurance to run it at that level. Of course, heat loss will help but you won't have the recharge to perma it at that lvl.   9. I am playing a water/cold corruptor atm and it gave me some insight into water blast and how I like to slot it. So, I changed this a little to allow water burst to have the FF recharge proc, getting 3 of these to proc in one minute should allow overgrowth to be perma. Geyser has a 90% chance to proc it and water burst is.....I don't know, low, but it does happen occasionally in the span of a minute, more than often enough to get 2 procs a minute I'd say.     Not off hand, but you'd need about 200% global recharge to do it. I would just use the build above and the ageless destiny. In order to get 200% global recharge you would have to abandon defense sets and go solely for recharge. It's possible, but your defenses would suffer a lot. The other thing you could do is use water blast instead with the FF recharge procs and as long as they proc'd twice in one minute overgrowth would be perma I beleive.   13. At end game poison really only has two good powers, envenom and venomous gas. Everything else is rather mediocre. Even a fully proc'd poison trap isn't all that inspiring. It also lacks a self heal which is really necessary on a corruptor for most content. The whole set is rather lackluster. I have a poison/water defender that works decently to debuff mobs and heal myself with water's dehydrate. I'd recommend a defender for poison though for the higher -res and easier ability to softcap defenses because poison does not add much to your survivability.
  14. In terms of primary sets for pve on a corruptor, there is Fire Blast and then there is everything else. The difference in damage really is that significant. If you pair fire with kinetics the difference in damage becomes incredibly noticeable compared to ice, water, or any other primary. There is no water secondary, so I don't know what you mean there. If you are considering cold domination as a secondary, I would recommend water blast as a primary. Fire would be much higher damage, but cold also lacks a heal. On my water/cold corruptor I am able to keep myself healed by using dehydrate alone and that is incredibly useful paired with cold. In terms of pvp it matters a bit what you are going for. Ice will have the most dmg through procs. You could try water, but that is really only if you are 1v1ing and need more sustain. Fire isn't all that good in pvp.
  15. I would not go Sonic Blast as a corruptor. Defenders get -20% res to all with their Sonic powers as opposed to the corruptors -15%. What this means in practice is that you go to around -80% res on a defender, but only -60% on a corruptor. If you are teaming, the difference is stark. In terms of a build here is a thread for a Kinetics/Sonic Defender that has softcapped melee/ranged defense and lots of resistance+recharge. This will allow you to wade into melee range and fulcrum shift maximizing your and your parties DPS.

  17. Ok, well this is what I've worked out for you. You have hasten and a lot more recharge, but unfortunately AOE def is below 30%. Still, most AOEs have either a ranged or melee component so I feel the offsets are worth it. Plus, this way you have a lot better resists also. This should be able to wage into melee and get the full benefit of repel and the FF recharge proc. Let me know what you think. There is no travel power because sprint+ninja run puts you at max speed.   18. How attached to flight are you? Is this a part of the concept of the build? Do you plan to hover above mobs? If so, why take repel? Also, would you be happy with melee/ranged softcap without the AOE def?
  19. Ok, in dealing with this build I dusted off my ol' fire/natue corruptor to remember how it plays at 50 well slotted and how the powers all interact with one another. I now remember that it isn't the entangling aura that I didn't like, its the spore cloud. Spore cloud is a 3.3 second cast time power that you need to cast before going into every mob (if you are using it to cover your melee defenses), then you go in and soul drain, then aim, and then start damaging things. That extra 3.3 second cast time before every mob is super lame, I find it way more fun to have capped defenses run in and soul drain (which will knock down most mobs based on how I have it slotted) aim and then geyser (or inferno in my case). Similarly I find that lifegiving spores is similarly humdrum, but it's very cheap to run and although the cast time is long it stays there forever, so its pretty nice to have for AV fights. I would say lifegiving spores is skippable, but its still nice to have. Entangling aura with the hold proc, still works ok and I don't find the damage procs to be much to write home about either. So with these thoughts in mind, I have edited my water/nature build again. I took out the spore cloud in favor of entangling aura and recapped melee and range defense, that 3.3 cast time on spore cloud was driving me crazy on my corruptor and with capped defenses and entangling aura I don't think its necessary. Capping defenses is just far away easier than relying on debuffs and as @SmalltalkJava said it really allows you to lead a team into the mobs.   20. Yes, and if I understand this correctly, bosses would have a 15.5% chance to be held every 10 seconds. Not that great in my opinion, all the other things are nice perks but don't seem necessary on a toon that can heal so readily. Still, from a min/maxing perspective I can see usefulness, so lets see if I can min/max my previous build and instead of going for the melee softcap, use spore cloud's -tohit to accomplish that portion of the build instead and also take entangling aura with procs. Ok, so we have to lose combat jumping in favor of entangling aura and so we lose some recharge and then we need to take a few slots from defensive toggles but with overgrowth up so much it shouldn't matter. We are using spore cloud in melee to be at the softcap and we have ranged softcap at all times. I would like to add several more procs to entangling aura, but I need the basilisk set bonuses to hit the ranged softcap and I can't find slots anywhere else. Maybe if I played with this for a long time I could, but I'm ok with this for now. If you are ok being at 44.1% ranged defense instead of the full 45%, by all means add more procs to entangling aura.   21. Ok, so s/l/e is good and you definitely get more recharge that way, but on a defender I like to build for melee/ranged defense to take advantage of the higher modifiers. So, here is my go at a nature/water defender build. Every geyser should give the 100% recharge proc which will give you perma hasten and really close to perma overgrowth and perma soul drain. It has capped melee/range def and s/l res and every soul drain will lower the mobs resistance as well. I did not take the entangling aura because its only a mag 2 hold and so it can only affect lieutenants and minions. The idea here would be to go in use soul drain > tidal forces > geyser >water burst and I think all the lieutenants+minions would be dead or close to it, thus rendering entangling aura kinda useless. This isn't a proc build, but I think the dmg will be similar or better because you have soul drain. Anyway, here is my go at a build. Let me know what you all think.   23. Ok, so looking at your build I'm a bit confused. You say you were going for an inexpensive build, but you are using +5 LotGs. There are several improvements you could make to this build to get more recharge and have other little perks. One thing you could do is take the gaussian slots out of aim and put two in tactics (two +tohit) and two in repel (add one force feedback recharge proc and one sudden acceleration kb to kd), this will make repel quite useful and will give more recharge overall than a single LotG +7.5%. You can also split up the scourging blast ATO set to get a full +20% recharge, you could split this in freezing ray and Ice storm for instance and get more overall recharge.
  24. How is DNA Siphon giving you so much regen? It only gives me 20% when I slot it in exactly the same way.
  25. Could you expand on this aura synergy? This is the first I've heard of this.
