  3. I understand how it theoretically works. Rain of arrows though has issues where only the first tick properly gets buffs
  4. I am curious do you get the benefit of fulcrum shift on all the ticks or just the first ?
  5. I don't mind paying for extra content, I just dislike the idea of developers adding content with the idea of making it painful enough that gamers will pay to avoid it.

  7. It's a more than fair question and I thought I had already posted a reply, but here we go again. If you can log in for daily hami raids 500 and can follow up with an apex tin mage combo 500 merits in two hours is very reasonable most will follow that up with a STF or RSF but that's at +4 so not really an exercise in gaining merits.
  8. If you spread your procs out, with a few exceptions you won't even notice they are there and it's especially true for single target powers. Procs fire inversely according to the amount of recharge you have in your power. More recharge equals less procs per activation (global doesn't count). With the exception of some holds almost all blaster single target powers start out cycling to fast to get the cap. Taking fire as an example Flares Rech = 2.18 s cast = 1.118 s cycle time ~3.3 s cycle time a 3.5 PPM proc that does 71 damage will contribute an additional 7 damage damage or so here if you have compare to blazing bolt Rech = 12 s Cast time (no idea what the proc will use but going with the slow mode) = 4.84 combined cycle time ~17s so a 3.5 PPM proc that does approximately 63 damage here The above are just done off the top of my head and meant to be illustrative. The next step is building for global recharge to amp up the overwhelming effect the procs have on damage output of that ability.

I was playing Neverwinter before COH magnificently rose again like a phoenix and saw really well just how degenerate that situation could become. They (Neverwinter) offer you the opportunity to buy campaign completions. If you aren't familiar they had their level cap fixed so to make you grind for power they had boons and opportunities attached to tedious boring and time gated campaigns that for 25$ American so you could buy your way out of doing. Looking at that I just said no. For all their kvetching gamers tolerate a lot. If they would say no more often there would be better games that didn't have the crap the majority of modern games have.

  11. Oh I have a custom boss in AE that has no defenses or attacks just boss HP. I just aggro a couple of groups onto me and then move away leaving me with an aggro limit worth of mobs around me and then fire it at the closest.
  12. The blaster is in some way different. I just tested Glue arrow with 1 acc and a Positron's Blast Chance of Energy Damage against 16 targets the highest number of hits was 4 on the first hit and least was 0. I'd have to slice and dice the combat log for a better estimate but it looks like 10% chance. Just a few notes Power Type:Click Target Type:Enemies Power Range:60.00 ft. Effect Area:Single Target Attack Types:AoE There is the description of the blaster glue arrow also the blaster version seems to have a 10 target cap. need to test more to verify that.
  13. I was saying archery has the weakest nuke in the game. It's a four second cast and things don't take damage from it till a full 5+seconds after you hit the cast and it doesn't fully benefit from short term buffs and putting the new procs in it is just pointless. I haven't tested full auto with targeting drone but I would be willing to bet it gets full benefit of the new first shot out of combat buildup. So when you say get the rain of arrows treatment it's one of two nukes in the game that doesn't get full benefit of short time boosts , the other being blizzard which is arguably the most powerful nuke in the game (one of the 3 highest for base damage, and has 4 secondary effects -to hit, knock down, -speed, -recharge) oh and it because it has lots of ticks you will hit everything. Full Auto could certainly use some love, but don't ask for it to be given the Rain of Arrows treatment. The would just mean you would get your damage nerfed My guess is that whoever did the nuke rebalancing looked at RoA and FA said they were fine, and didn't bother to consider secondary effects or that fact the sets had them from the beginning and were balanced around having non crashing fast nuke. Edit: Just looking at their history in balancing, you get the feeling the original devs, never bothered to leave notes for themselves or anyone in the future. Something like NB Energy Melee is balanced around Energy Transfer if changes are made please look at changing other powers accordingly.
  14. I am sorry the implied assumption that I didn't take that into account when making the calculation is erroneous. 5 Hami Raids in an hour from team formation to killing the last of the buds are very common. Apex and Tin mage fill very quickly.

Dude why would you want the lowest damaging nuke in the game, that can't properly benefit from short tick boosts and doesn't even get the the set's secondary effect (extra accuracy), what's more is attached to an overall low damage set ? Archery and Rain of Arrows is a perfect example of how the original devs were really lazy and unprofessional about balance changes and balancing in general. When the set was built it was obviously designed around having the noncrashing quick recharging nuke and they pre nerfed the whole powerset to balance around that. What's left is a thematic set with low single target damage and a nuke that's hard to get off before everything is dead if you are running with the team. I wouldn't be working on an ice blast build now if archery had a long range cone that shot bunches of arrows over just 4 seconds took all my buffs and started doing damage from when I hit the button not 5 SECONDS !!! after.

  19. I am sorry but for me that was a case of self betrayal. You Rewarded the Devs for making the game worse, and encouraging them to keep making things that would force you to buy stuff. It's much the way I never bought a character respec from them. They did get me for the booster backs that had costume parts and the temp travel powers. Rather sorry I paid for them now.
  20. Just a note knockback and chance of knockback are two very different things. Chance of KB in an area effect ability is very bad
  21. Agreed, I just respeced from my crab to a bane because I couldn't stand how crab backpack looked and the bane is unarguably a less survivable character. The whip out the gun animation is disconcerting and the idea of having the alternate animation be the throw grenade would be most welcome.

Not certain if this is a bug or just a communication error but targeting drone and snipe apparently don't agree on what constitutes out of combat Testing on an Archery/Devices blaster blaster Your Ranged Shot snipes Test Dummy for 675.65 points of lethal damage! Your Ranged Shot snipes Test Dummy for 337.82 points of lethal damage! Both of these results are from out of combat ranged shot with targeting drone active. Is there an internal timer for targeting drones build up effect ? That isn't mentioned ? If it is meant to be operating on different rules than the snipe would it be possible to get a buff bar message indicating when it was available the same way stalkers have the hidden message ? (please for heavens sake not another small buff icon in the crowd of small buff icons that the buff bar has become, my old eyes would have a very hard time following it) On a related note Rain of Arrows only gets the build up effect for the first tick You launch a Rain of Arrows!   23. Beam Rifle has always had two issues for me. First, is the noise, the way it sounds is just off. That's purely subjective if you like the way it sounds or are willing to edit the client to change the sounds it's a non issue. The second is the disintegrate mechanic. It's one of those things where I would always ask myself are the devs playing the same game as the rest of us ? Getting to actually make disintegration spread just isn't something that happens on teams. On the plus side it has aim which you can turn into a build up like ability.
  24. Thanks for the reply it's always good to know, it just makes me a little sad. Archery's thing is increased accuracy endgame it's nearly nothing but it's what archery had. You toss in the fact that ROA isn't properly taking buffs and won't proc the PPM procs to save its life, well it takes what was a moderate damage nuke that was really slow to cast (can't count the number of times I went to drop ROA only to see everything dead before the arrows even began to land) but was up very often, to the weakest nuke in the game by far. Might be an idea to ditch the pseudopet all together, and use the fireball template, with a 2 tick dot.
  25. Did further testing in the AE and managed to deduce the problem It's a couple of bugs in rain of arrows. The chance to hit turns out ROA just doesn't get Archery's inherent accuracy of 1.15. The fluctuating accuracy is from the fact Eagle Eye is on a .75 second tick and apparently the pseudo pet has it expire oddly. The same thing happens for tactics.
