Focused Feedback: Arsenal Control
Frosticus replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Tri-Cannon does about 50dps (w/ 95% damage enhancement). Is that more/less/similar to other t9 pets? It does ok-ish with chance for buildup proc and pretty badly with perfect zinger psi proc. Pros: it moves well, taunts very well (fast cycling attack) and is extremely robust compared to all other t9 pets including stoney and singy Cons: not too exciting, sits so far back it will never get team buffs, can actually pull melee centric opponents out of your patches as they try to close in on it. I'm all for making it more exciting. I think it would perform better if it moved in to about 25 ft range of its target. Can't speak to the troller version and it is a known bug that it is dominating outside of domination (only minions in this group so maybe doesn't matter?), but here's sleep nade at lvl 8 with a single -3 sleep SO vs a full spawn in perez. Objectively it is pretty darn good -
Savage stalkers are really good. Next update lets savage leap critical properly and it is already a proc bomb (for all AT's). It is true that dots aren't part of the critical formula for stalkers/scrappers, but a stalker uses controlled crits into their aoe's, or to crit on an epic snipe. It works very well. Hemo is just underwhelming, you definitely won't miss it on a stalker. The dot nature does play well with brute fury. Might also be worth looking at how rending flurry interacts with the tanker radius/target boosts. iirc full blood flurry is outright massive on tanks.

You are right. I didn't complete mission 4 in that run. It had nothing to do with it being too difficult. You are free to believe what you believe. I only play for about an hr at a time as I have other commitments in life. As you say, we use the tools that our builds have. Mine has translocate so it lets me separate Romy. Here's a brief clip from the start of the AV fight. As I said before, smart players can extrapolate whether or not Earth can do this mission. It definitely can. I can't though. It takes me too long. But I don't claim to be a particularly great player, I just understand the mechanics. I have seer lore. They put perma fortitude on stoney and spam heal other. Some things just get silly in this game and aren't for me. Here's a bonus clip of doubling down on two GM's at the same time. Earthy goodness and not your average dominator build.

DeVore is a nightmare. It's funny because the other carny AV's are pushovers, but she's at least a 9, maybe a 10. She will fold most other AV's and almost all builds. This power: Mask of Feebleness wreaks everybody So much of this game is rock/paper/scissors when it comes to countering things. And as Bart Simpsons says In this case if you have "rock" you will beat her. Very few builds have rock when it comes to DeVore Build is posted in the clamor thread +1x8 Yin and +3 Clamor Musing on why the combo works I discuss in the Ice Mistral thread Unique combo: earth/psi It is a super fun combo that really shows off the dominator AT. Utilizing your full suite of controls, playing aggressive and in the face of enemies. I wish it had some more crunchy attacks, but it is otherwise the full package.

sweet. I'll just add that people will want to get there /cold runs in soon. The nerf to sleet on test definitely takes a bit of bite out of the dps potential. It might not seem like a ton, but when you are triple stacking it...

Not that it really matters in the grand scheme, But would it be the use of judgement that bumped my ill/cold into burst? Just wondering as it definitely sustains that dps for 2 mins. It actually spikes higher than the vid at ~95seconds when you recast HL on top of 3x sleet stack (just not often you get to !)

Can I show a video of Phantasm knocking a spawn out of range of Illusions (troller) only aoe control - Spectral Terror? /s If anyone hasn't had the chance to try it. Sleep nade pretty easily double stacks with a mid-tier build. I was consistently seeing mag 9 sleep (3 stacks of mag 3) under domination. Interestingly, I don't think it ever jumped up to mag 12. Obviously each application wakes them all up, but it ramps up again pretty quickly. -

Maybe we are playing a different version of the game, but the low damage primaries for both controllers and doms tend to be less popular than the ones that contribute considerable damage. looks at sig, there is a chance I have no experience with trollers and doms, but it isn't an argument I'd lead with myself. Anyway, it's not up to me what powers get implemented, I'm just testing what the devs put in front of us and highlighting the proficiency/deficiencies of those powers. -

I'm a fan of increased debuffs, especially on sleep powers, but I'd take ice slick/nitrogen over an aoe immob every day of the week. I don't think removing the only sources of damage (sleep nade and nitrogen) is particularly well thought out. Easy containment for your epic aoe is nice, but 35+ levels of zero damage isn't a good trade off imo. -
fixed Dominator - Smoke Can > accuracy reporting
Frosticus replied to Frosticus's topic in [Open Beta] Bug Reports
Then using confuse sets is not improving the accuracy of the power. Using accurate tohit debuff sets improves accuracy Standard acc IO improves accuracy. -
fixed Dominator - Smoke Can > accuracy reporting
Frosticus posted a topic in [Open Beta] Bug Reports
When selecting to track pet combat Smoke Can only reports accuracy on the tohit debuff roll. Either I am unsure where to check the accuracy of the confuse aspect, or it isn't being reported. -
Can you expand on the criteria to classify as burst or sustained? Would assault hybrid (50%uptime) default to burst? Or is it endurance sustainability the measure? Or other stuff?

My elec/nin/elec spends a lot of time in melee. Very potent sapper. Pretty decent damage.

Sweet baby jesus I'm coming for you Silver Mantis! her dam caltrops always prevented me from getting double focus after placate. also bane placate is the bees knees with that huge tohit buff it grants.

Could be neat. Opens up future possibilities of an ice attack, followed by a fire attack causing wet. Followed by an electrical attack getting bonus damage. I dont hate the idea of improving potential synergies and cross set bonuses. Just depends what the devs are envisioning I suppose. -

I genuinely don't care if it gets an aoe immob, but I have a bit different perspective than some other posters. I don't find mobs scatter too much between the aoe confuse, knockdown patch and taunting pet. I also prefer mobs that are heavily debuffed, or confused, to be able to move (slowly). Moving mobs aren't attacking and confused mobs tend to collapse tighter. The moment you immob them they default to ranged attacks. For example I much prefer earthquake+quicksand over earthquake+stone cages. I only run the latter on my dom because stone cages was a forced pick. granted there is always the possibility that an energy sentinel joins your group and spams nova. Certainly I appreciate the ability to mitigate that and can relate to the frustration that causes. -
Feral Charge is a 20' aoe attack that hits 5 targets. It does damage based on the range you are from the target. Up close it will do base damage of 49+dot (up to 65 damage total) Far away it will do base damage of 99+dot (up to 130 damage total) I'd be hard pressed to pick a cooler power.

/psi's damage is ok. Probe, tk and snipe are all fine DPA attacks Subdue takes the +dam ATO PSW still hits 16 targets vs all the other pbaoes hitting 10, that seems to matter when people talk about sentinels, so I'm sure it matters to other AT's as well. It is definitely focused on utility though with drain psyche being head and shoulders above as the best sustain for health and endurance. Plus PSW being a control power in and of itself. /sav is unlike any other set in the game. A very unique experience and hands down the most fun attack set imo. If it is your first foray into doms you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not playing Plant, but if you don't plan to heavily IO (perma dom) then consider one of the sets with patch powers like Earth (and soon Arsenal) as they work pretty outside of domination mode.

Every dom has varying answers to how they handle the x8 side of the equation. Plant/psi absolutely demolishes spawns. Faster than my earth/psi to be sure, but faster than most doms and most builds in the game too. How would it do in this encounter? Potentially fine, potentially falter. The ambushes don't spawn tight, so hitting them all with seeds is hard. The deathmages and succubi will drop you very quickly if you don't have them controlled. Figure that part out and plant/psi can do what it does best. Huge spawns with recently defeated bodies - - creepers! Quick footed movement (ie don't take fly) and situational awareness will probably get your through the ambushes. But the bigger issue is what about Archus AV? It's level 40, so you can't ride the coat-tail of your lore pet. You won't face tank him with just the regen of drain psyche, so assume you do what most other doms do and build for ranged softcap. He spams mesmerize (which only checks psi def) and twilight grasp (aoe/neg) which heals him, so you need to put out good dps. So you'll likely need ranged softcap and psi softcap (perma indom will) and enough dps to outpace twilight grasp (and healing flames). For reference I couldn't outpace his healing at +2. It's a tall order and I think the odds are stacked against you, but half the fun of this stuff is figuring it out.

From first damage landed? I always begin my clock when I start interacting, so the video claimed time is a bit slower than the way you measure. Anywho. Run Type: PylonArchetype: ControllerPrimary Powerset: IllusionSecondary Powerset: ColdTime in seconds: 37 seconds (first damage at 0:09, kill at 0:46)Hybrid: Assault Radial (on)Number of Runs: hundreds hahaVersion: i27, page 6Video Link: Notes: looks like that near infinite Telukku buff from the DA arc is active. I think it is 2.5% def? Degen radial, pyronic judgement.Build: Controller - Illusion Control - Cold Domination2022.mbd

Focused Feedback: Arsenal Control
Frosticus replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I think some people are being too harsh on this set. For Doms - Objectively you have a very good suite of control powers in: (the entire set is ranged) Ranged aoe stun - it gets out fast and is as good or better than most of them. For doms, aoe stuns are bread and butter for many of the sets. Ranged (place around corners) confuse - I put up a video. It works reasonably well with domination and lets you walk right up to the spawn, which is valuable sometimes. Ranged (place around corners) ice slick - most people are familiar with quake/slick, it just works Ranged (and decently mobile) taunting tank - this pet is better than most single target controls because it works when they don't. Some enemies are very resistant to be held and few solo players (and no teams ever) have the patience to stack single target confuse enough to mitigate AV's while doing exactly zero dps to them. I've shown what Stoney from earth can do and Tri-Gun makes him look like hes made of paper tissue. I think you get a lot, but in exchange you have the figure out a way to mitigate the patches issue. For trollers: I'm less confident in the set. They have way more tools to mitigate the patches issue in their secondaries, but... Their damage potential is extremely minor and they have no reliable, or even semi reliable (previous sleep patch) was of setting up containment. To me that is more limiting in play experience than what dom's will have to overcome. That said, I doubt this set will be very popular, but I'd surely love to see some of the smoke canister action ported over to fire control and widow versions of smoke.
