They both do damage and will break the sleep of the other. But if you sleep nade > tranq it will stack when sleep nade pulses again a short time later.

Dealers choice 🙂 I didn't bother to slot them on that run either. Added the missing miracle and end mod. Dominator (Fire Control - Fiery Assault).mbd

Are you able to add this one from before? It isn't a winner, but it is a good showing for fire/fire

Hot take. People were not sufficiently challenging their build if they were not frequently having placate broken on them.

Could you imagine a version of the game where burnout affected the power pools. That would change some of my builds for sure. Ymmv, but the AV fights back against you, not the pets with the dominator version. I won't disagree that the intangibility of PA is a benefit though.

Doing an arse/thorn take on the predator. It's going well so far... Thorn will fill in some of the weak spots decently. Tried it semi maxed out on test during beta. Anything that can stroll thru those hydra pylons at +4 in the Apex TF, will ime, do pretty well in other areas too. Aoe confuse, aoe stun and lastly, the aoe hold are the highlights for me. Pet fills a niche that appeals to me, but certainly doesn't steal the show. Also they added aoe -fly to sleep nade. It is pretty ok with the ice Mistral set.

-fly on sleep grenade? Muchos gracias -
Regular gameplay means so many different things to different people though. In truth most of these builds would be humbled pretty quickly if we just zipped halfway across the zone and tried these shenanigans against a lvl 54 pylon that fights back :) /nrg is good, but for me you want a good amount of aoe and solid single target. If you don't have strong aoe then you want some way of facilitating good aoe like /fire boosting rain of fire and fireball so well. Or a ton of utility like /psi offers in drain psyche. But everyone wants different things and I think most assault sets are pretty nice. For this competition my gut said /thorny and that's why I ran that ill/thorn back at the beginning of the month. I honestly never considered /nrg in the running because it has no opportunities for -res and the self boosting is not on par with the likes of thorn, fire, (or as we learned from @VertigoIguana) martial. At the end of the day, -res procs play a big role in killing even con pylons as has been demonstrated so many times in the scrapper thread. If someone swaps in burnout (double FE) and uses geas on the fire/fire/mace build I put up earlier it may well be in the running with that astounding ill/ma time. Still time for someone to get creative and come up with something different though! Ya definitely an interesting mechanic. Perhaps not particularly applicable for an ill/ma in game, but if it works as he suggests then something like a fire/ma could see tremendous benefits to their imps over time (if you keep them alive of course). If nothing else I've added that for a potential combo to look at later and I would have not come up with that on my own :)

Focused Feedback: Arsenal Control
Frosticus replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
While I've lamented the lack of proc opportunities in this set I must commend the set IO variety available. This is among the easiest perma-doms I have built and it exemplars down super well.* * not saying other control sets can't do similar, just that arsenal is very good at it. 5 purple/ATO sets + lotg+ pet set = 63.75%* rech from my primary and very little of it feels like wasted slotting. That let's me go ham on procs in my assault set and epics. Looking forward to it. -
Genuinely impressive application of your understanding of the game mechanics. It isn't often I'm still learning things about this game, but I'm absorbing everything you are demonstrating.

Ya I think mids has always had def debuff/accurate def debuff missing from allowable enhancements in thorn barrage.

Don't forget dominators part 2 Illusion/thorny/mace No insps/amps/temps/click accos/lore 34 seconds

We have such different approaches to our builds for illusion/thorny that I think it is worthwhile adding it. I wish you had vid, cause I feel like my fight is a hot mess in terms of execution, but it is still crazy fast (not as fast as yours though!) Run Type: Pylon Archetype: Dominator Primary Powerset: Illusion Secondary Powerset: Thorny Time in seconds: 34 Burst: sustained Hybrid: Assault Core (on) Number of Runs: 1 Version: I27 Page 7 beta 4 Video Link: Notes: Do I make you thorny? No Insp/temps/amps/p2w/click accolades/lore Build: *thorn barrage empty slots are the 2 def damage procs and 1 achilies Dominator (Illusion Control - Thorny Assault).mbd

Dang this is the same combo I've been working on! Haha great minds. Best I've hit is 34 sec w/o amps/geas/daggers etc. Very well done. I'll toss up the vid of my version + build for completion-ist sake. Awesome job! Thorny is impressive.

Don't forget Dominators! Fire/fire/mace No: insps/amps/temps/click accos/lore 35 seconds

“Most things that require dps also require decent survivability. Otherwise, I would have dumped the money I put into this ill/cold into a fire/fire/mace dom and really set the bar high .” (Me) Frosticus, 2010, the early days of pylons 14 years later, and we now have docile pylons to dps test on, so let's see what a fire/fire/mace can do! Here is my competition spec fire/fire dom. I don’t use p2w, or click accolades so maybe some more time to be shaved by a more intrepid adventurer given what -regen can add. I made sure to leave combat tab open as that is interesting to watch. My findings mirror @VertigoIguanawith regard to radial degen and assault core. I might run this a few more times to see if I can improve, but I have another combo I'm pursuing now. Run Type: Pylon Archetype: Dominator Primary Powerset: Fire Secondary Powerset: Fire Time in seconds: 35 Burst: sustained Hybrid: Assault Core (on) Number of Runs: 1 Version: I27 Page 7 beta 4 Video Link: Notes: No insp/temps/amps/p2w/click accolades/lore Build: will upload asap (on other pc) Dominator (Fire Control - Fiery Assault).mbd

Focused Feedback: Arsenal Control

I think it is as clicky as you make it. Most spawns can be tackled with just smoke can and start attacking. Just depends on what your secondary brings. The aoe clear speeds aren't plant level, but it is better than most realize with the improvements to nitrogen. Smoke Can isn't seeds of confusion, but it probably ranks 2nd for aoe confuse given the uptime. I know people asked for it, but increasing the tohit debuff of smoke can actually makes the confuse less powerful. Pair it with a good aoe -def power and the spawns will shred themselves. Single target damage is low, but at least you just focus on killing the remaining higher hp target because tri-cannon controls them. Imo this is a good set. Only held hack by the fact a lot of people will struggle with character concepts that use a gun. -
Has there been any significant changes since 2021?
Frosticus replied to Unerring_Fool's topic in Stalker
Don't know when, but probably since that time Hemo was gutted. It was bugged and was doing way too much hidden damage. Now it is a pretty bad attack and is often skipped. Savage leap is getting a small buff in the next patch Placate was buffed at some point to be way faster and hit 5 targets Placate is getting a small buff next patch so you can still land a follow up critical while under rapid damage. Savage is still great. Just in a bit different ways than before. -

Good: patches inheriting caster buffs for short duration. Hopefully ported to all appropriate powers in game eventually. Bad: that (caster buffs) didn't address/resolve base accuracy issues. Example Smoke Can (base acc 1.0 =75% vs even con)* *it is not getting the 1.05x weapon bonus +0 up to +2 = easy enough to hit +3 and +4 = 98% to 144% acc slotting required respectively (in power+alpha only) Bad: sleep nade. Still hoping it is returned to build 3 version. The targetted aoe worked properly and dropped a continuous patch for dominators that quickly (almost instantly after impact) put things to sleep. It worked how'd you'd expect. I'm not too worried about the base acc, I think that will be bumped up in the future after more data mining because even teaming doesn't resolve it. I won't lose sleep over sleep nade because the set has ample control without it. I think people will grow to like smoke can quite a bit and it may make this set well received in time. -
PSA to anyone doing any runs on test server. If anyone is near you (maybe in the zone?) with that "playtest aoe buff" running it will ruin your run. Double check your status bar, it looks similar to ageless.

Focused Feedback: Arsenal Control
Frosticus replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Not sure what feedback you are looking for? Traps has always scattered spawns to the corners of the earth and arsenal has limited ability to prevent it. But if I were on an arse/traps I'd: -spawn seekers in the middle of the spawn (not an exact science) to help collapse it -follow with confuse canister to further encourage collapse* -jump in and in your prefered order: caltrops, acid mortar, nitrogen, poison trap. *having those spawns move like 25% closer together makes aoe controls/powers much more effective. I'd hold my aoe stun for when needed as I think the aoe confuse is the more useful tool in most situations personally. *bonus points if you continue the TF and show your arsenal troller fold the AV Clamor with near zero risk/effort while the fire troller would probably need a few handfuls of insp. -

Arsenal Control > All Pseudopets should now be spawned with the caster's current buffs. As usual, they will last for about the same time as the buff lasts in the caster. The devil is in the details. Most caster buffs are typically much shorter lived than players might think. global acc still has no impact. Tactics will last about 2 seconds Targeting drone I dunno 1-2 seconds? kismet worked well though It helps for powerup and buildup though as appropriate, so it is definitely better. Same if you fulcurm shift, sleep nade can actually do a bit of damage now. I'd be lying if I wasn't disappointed that the set has almost no slotting diversity because it is neutered for procs by virtue of the power designs. I think that will hurt its longevity and replayability. Overall I think this set has some weaknesses and some niche strengths (like shooting around corners). It will not appeal to everyone and some pairings will do much better than others. For instance arse/ta looks like it has a lot of synergy and I'm liking my arse/thorn dom quite a bit.
