  1. Wolvie's an example of giving a regen player resist cap and tanker values. Was getting his ass whooped until that adamantium infusion. Also, yeah - the time for your nerf idea was roughly a decade ago, BJ. Right now it would just be stupid to even humor making that a reality.
  2. If my goal was to uberstomp the game, I could just play my tank or the fire blaster, the former is surprisingly fine even without procs and will endure a proc rework unless tanks are nerfed. Fun characters break the monotony...also it's good in pvp if I ever feel like kicking you or Bill's ass. :3
  3. It's more fun, for one, and the survival is generally better. Missing ball lightning is less noticable in less robot-intensive maps, as well as better positioning in a more open map. Running no ball-lightning leads to pretty similar times on the katana/energy. A one minute difference when not rocking a procced ball lightning is pretty good to me. I also make it a point to not make redundant characters. I'd rather have a db/energy and a kat/regen than make both rock energy armor. Regen needs buffs, especially for stalkers/scrappers - anyone who denies that is a fool, but I thought it'd be nice to show that you can make it work rather well without leaning hard on insps. Amps were active for consistency's sake with the others, but you'll have to take my word that they aren't a large swing factor.
  4. Ran some sword characters, despite having the worst trapdoor time, I like the regen the most, lol. Next two will probably be kat/regen and DB/energy. You do notice the lack of ball lightning and a taunt aura with the regen, though.
  5. I remember what it is now, regen resist actually resists Rebirth Radial's regen buff. So if you're playing a set like regen or rad, or someone near you pops ageless, not great.
  6. Couldn't tell you, it's only something I've heard about and haven't experienced, since I don't really use rebirth ever. Something about it is broken and makes it not useful/a detriment.
  7. I missed their post, thanks for that. Main things I changed since are moving cross punch to fourteen and some light experimentation with rage's slotting (like moving two to obliteration), but the build in the video is a beta character that should be exactly the same.
  8. Yeah, I ran my kat/energy through since it has ball lightning and got about 6:10ish, largely because of the taunt aura and having a big source of energy damage to cycle through. I could probably proc ball out and get a lot faster, but I only did it to compare with my regen averaging 7:30+ (have to take meld for it :\)
  9. Isn't rebirth's regen still bugged?
  10. Keep dreaming, pal.
  11. I guess it depends on what you would define as 'overpowered' in the current age of the game. I don't think anything will really touch the old titan/bio pairing. Even fire blasters can't solo itrials, to my knowledge. I'd argue that if any set deserves to be maybe intentionally uptuned a bit, it's regen. It's much more active than it's peers, and requires a bit more attention from it's pilot. I can't think of a set that's had buff requests more than regen. Maybe energy melee? That rework was a banger.
  12. Has anyone gotten a good time with DB or katana yet? I've been trying for a good while to get a good one with the db/energy and the kat/regen, I really can't break 7m on either. I assume it's combination of factors, including the fact most of the foes are robotic/high lethal resists like war wolves, and the limited area coverage on their aoes relative to say, claws. But I'm a little surprised by how poorly it's doing here. Though, the robotic thing does explain why the claw/bio performs worse than the energy/rad here. Edit: Best time was just shy of 6:58 with a level up, trapdoor isn't great for kat. 😕 To vent my frustrations, I blew the place up again.
  13. Some ideas I had, some are mutually exclusive, others are not. -regen immunity/drain resist/more recharge resist + 20% recharge on one of the passives. Regen characters get a higher max HP limit than their peers of the same AT. Front-loaded heals casts. Turn revive into unrelenting - I mean unrelenting just fits the idea of regen so well.
  14. It's not -that- bad, it's just slightly more annoying to deal with solo. Some sets like katana, DB and martial just kinda work best on scrappers, too.
  15. Contrary to popular(?) belief, regen is not the best hamidon raid armor.
  16. This topic is funny, because I made a regen character as a goof pretty much right before finding it. Stay tuned for how that progresses.
  17. It just makes sense to me. Bio has tons of layers to fall back on if any one element fails, willpower is kinda the same but less modern, Rad has resist out the ass, absorb and infinite endurance, essentially. Regen comparatively has a very weak base to build off of: Either your heals/regen are enough to outlive whatever is hitting you, or you die. There's not really many layers to it, it has some resist but not really a lot. It has no defense baseline so it's kind of harder to build for it, scrappers have lower health and no taunt aura, so runners are a constant problem and all your heals scale worse by default. I'd be totally fine with it being a little overpowered post-buff, really. It requires a lot more attention to play properly than almost any other set, and you're pretty much rewarded by getting your ass handed to you via bad dice rolls, among other frustrations. Skillful play should be rewarded, regen is a set that requires more attention than most for little to show for it.
  18. I would give it slow and end-drain protection too, but yeah, one of those things to start small on. It was said earlier, but the thing with regen debuffs is the ones that are potent are loaded to like 1000% (Jack really had it out for you guys) or something, so just regen debuff protection by itself won't be a lot, unless they grant regen total immunity to it. Which I wouldn't necessarily be against, but yaknow. I try not to invite debate with my suggestions, keep them agreeable.
  19. I'm actually not talking about you or anyone here specifically, I'm ripping on someone I know on discord, mostly - lol. Chill.
  20. Thing with regen is this: It's advocates vastly overstate it's "potential", while it's detractors just kind of shit on it unconstructively. If you want the set buffed, someone comes out of the woodwork to tell you how the set is good if you spam four insps, rune of power while rotating shadow meld and mog every fight - that it's "actually the best set under these hyperspecific circumstances if we ignore that other sets can do this too." If you wanted to make the temp argument, I'd counter by saying energy and bio get way more from that with much less work. I'd personally like to see some + recharge , along with some debuff protection that at least matches what rad is rocking. You'd probably have to do different things for both scrapper and brute versions to get a good fix.
  21. Claws/bio Energy/rad War mace/En Dark/shield ice/fire or Ice/Invuln Great combos that will smash the game and look good while doing it.
  22. If anyone remembers the TV farms, seeing my fire/psi dominator friend ripping through packs with pre-nerf shockwave was certainly inspiring.
  23. Consider fitting in cross punch. Worked wonders for mine. Torchblight 2022.mxd ----- Decided to revisit the last character I was working on before my break from the game. Forgot how utterly disgusting it is, and thought it would be fun to time it with only the alpha slot, and without starting with dom. 4:30's pretty good, all things considered (start timer when I engage.) Easily one of my more busted characters. The map also makes the carrion vines slower at catching up with you, and double-pulling more difficult. I may just try to push for sub-4 once I finish slotting it's incarnates out.
  24. STJ OR Energy/EN for a well rounded damage god. I like STJ more on a stalker. Ice/invuln for an absolute tank, also exemps well. Kinetic melee isn't horrible either, would also pair that with energy. Elec/shield for an aoe telefragging monster.
  25. To summarize: I'd consider them almost perfect. Only things I don't like are how gravatic snare is still awful, how emanation, dwarf mire, the PB heal and flares aren't shared anymore due to how integral they are to the playstyles, and how the changes indirectly make keybinding khelds more annoying to do.
