I'm not really a Bio fan, although a lot of people love it. I did a KM/EA to 50 + incarnates and when compared to my EM/EA the KM/EA was weak. Somewhat surprised you didn't like the StJ/SR since that character performs very well for me, but if you didn't like the them it is what it is. What kind of theme do you like? Maybe we can help with a build... I am working on a MA stalker that I shelved because it felt weak, same with Ninja Blade, Staff the jury is still out. The good news is there a lot of combinations, so you will likely find something that aligns with your theme and character background and that always make a character more enjoyable for me. Stalker are very survivable. I am finding that Inv, SR, SD, and EA are very strong secondaries. I was thinking EA was top dog, but I'm starting to lean towards SD because you can soft-cap M, R, and AOE and cap S/L resistance making the character pretty survivable. Limited heal or endurance management, but can be addressed in the Epic or Incarnates.

It is probably the DB / EA build in the DB / EA thread. It is no doubt a good build that hits hard and is survivable. I'm only in the mid-30s with it and it performs well, although endurance is an issue as with most stalker builds at this point. I find that most of my stalkers perform well although some are better than others. Do I think Stalkers are OP? No, I don't. I agree with your point "hidden assassins strike is a strong identity of what a stalker was supposed to be but nobody wants to use". Not sure I agree it is trash, but I agree it is less than stellar. Even solo I am about 50/50 on whether I will open with it. If it was great I would always open with it.

There is a huge difference between providing a dissenting opinion in a civil way and being a dick about it. You were definitely one of the guys being a dick about it. It's your right to act that way, but some people are just going to tune you out. A lot of us have to deal with unsavory people in the real world. I can't imagine many of us want to deal with it in a game, where I would expect that all of us want a good experience to take us a way from reality for a bit. Haijinx has a dissenting opinion, but he is engaging in a civil manner. On another note, Madae didn't ask for a change because it would be "cool". He made some legitimate points about the way AS and focus works and provided a comparison between blaster and stalker. He also gave his take on what he thought would help. I think for the most part his concerns are legit, but I don't know that they are things I would focus on as I do think the class plays fine. Otherwise I wouldn't have so many level 50 stalkers and I wouldn't keep rolling new ones.
-
He clearly articulated the the challenges with AS, so he knows what he is talking about from the AS standpoint. Not knowing the aggro modifier is a minor point (which I admit I didn't know either), but that does not indicate that Madae does not understand the base game, That is a ridiculous statement to make. I've been playing the game since launch and I still learn things on a regular basis. It doesn't mean a lack of understanding of the base game. Dismissing the entire argument over a little known mechanic and replying in an uncivil manner makes it seem like you are only interested in trolling. If that is all you want to do why don't you take that shit somewhere else or just stop replying? I'm actually interested in seeing some suggestions on how to address the original points around AS.

Read through the thread and it seems this post has some people up in arms. Not sure why since it is just an opinion. You are articulating my experience with Assassin's Strike especially in teams. I wouldn't mind seeing some fix there. I don't agree that stalkers are terrible at everything else. On Live I played on Scrappers; here I am playing more Stalkers. I do think Stalkers have gaps compared to Scrappers, but I like the stealth aspect of the AT and they can be built pretty sturdy with the right investments. I don't agree with some in the thread that Stalkers are OP. I'm not seeing stalkers soloing ITF at +4/8, but definitely seeing threads with tankers doing it. I expect Brutes and Scrappers are as well.

Here are some builds I am working on, but it is mainly theory as I am only level 32 right now. I generally take the Body Mastery pool because I usually need the endurance powers. This time I have decided to go with Mu Mastery for Zapp and Ball Lightning. I will likely also look at adding Electric Shacles in a future build because I can imagine that is pretty good with procs. In both of these builds I was priortizing soft-cap defense and then S/L resistance. I would like to proc some of these powers out but unfortunately I need the set bonuses for defense. Build 1 - This seems like it might be the better of the 2 builds. I am definitely concerned about the enduance factor and am planning to close that whole with the Ageless incarante. Build 2 I hope these builds help with some ideas...

never thought this game would depress me, but it does
Lockpick replied to Carbie48's topic in General Discussion
When I join a PUG for radio missions it is usually because I am trying to get a few bars to level, so I will only generally join for a mission or two. Once I get my level I move on to other things... -
I generally start with a concept and backstory because I find it keeps me engaged with the character. I make a build in Mids for the character and will create the character and costume. I have a bunch of alts that I play and I often will rotate the characters at the lower levels. I generally play about 70% solo story arcs and then 30% teaming for TFs and raids. I work on the 4 passive accolades as I level. Once I get to 50 I work through the incarnate system and get to Tier 4. Then I focus on getting day jobs and $100M influence. Then I move to other characters that are in the rotation,

Sorry to revise an old thread, but I was playing my Savage / SD and was feeling that Hemorrhage was not working as I expected. I have a Savage / SR that I had leveled to 50 / incarnates and felt that Hemorrhage hit like a truck with that character, but was not strong at all comparatively on the new character. I checked the boards and found this thread on the nerf. Pretty disappointing... Anyway, I respecced out of Hemorrhage and got Savage Strike with the idea of just running a single target chain of SS - MS - AS and using the AoEs as needed. This burns endurance pretty quickly. I'm curious about the blood frenzy and endurance / recharge mechanic. Does the percentages of endurance / recharge stay static as long as you have blood frenzy or does it adjust based on the stacks? Bummed out about this Hemorrhage nerf...

I like this idea and will probably do it. I was using it more for the 7.5% speed boost, but the heal is likely much better value. I was hoping to find a way to cap S/L. I have an /Inv stalker that caps S/L and also soft-caps all types except Psy and I was thinking this was going to be the one to get S/L capped and soft-cap all defense, but just cannot see it.
-
For me specifically it generally come down to a travel power. In many of my builds I do take Speed for Hasten / SS, Fighting for Tough / Weave, Leaping for CJ, and Leadership for Maneuvers / Tactics / Assault. At that point I have the powers I need for defense and/or LoTG, but I also want Fly, but cannot get it. Since I can substitute a Jet Pack for Fly I will often make that choice although I would rather just pick Fly. If I really need Fly for concept I will generally ditch Leaping or the Leadership pool. I would be fine with allowing an additional pool to select only the travel power. I would be fine with selecting a 5th pool if you don't take the Epic pool. I would be fine with capping defense pool powers. I would also be fine with just opening a 5th pool. I'm really just looking for more build diversification though pool powers. Sure some people may min/max their builds, but so what? People already do that...

The Utility Belt pool was one that was on the radar for Paragon before the snap. There were 4 new pools and HC has implemented 2 of the 4. https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Power_Pools Implemented Experimentation Force of Will Pending Gadgetry Utility Belt Utility Belt Pool from Paragon Wiki Power Level Effect Bolas 4 Ranged, Foe Immobilize, Knockdown Poisoned Dagger 4 Ranged, Moderate DMG(Lethal), Foe Light DoT(Toxic), -DMG Freerunning 4 Toggle: Self, +Jump, +Run Speed, +Special Flying Strike 14 Charge (Targeted AoE), High DMG(Smash), Foe Knockdown Life Support System 14 Self, +HP, +Heal Over Time, +Special I believe this pool could be tweaked to leverage existing power animations with the intent to get the pool implemented quickly. I assume the reason for the delays is due to animations, so my thoughts are: Bolas - Make it like the Tear Gas Grenade Day Job Power and change it from Bolas to Tear Gas Grenade Poisoned Dagger - Use Envenomed Dagger Freerunning - Use Athletic Run Flying Strike - I'm not sure what to use here. Maybe Savage Leap? Life Support Systems - Use the animation for Unrelenting Any thoughts?

The challenge to me is that many of the pools only have 1 power I am interested in taking. In Speed I like Hasten and often take it. I'm not really a fan of SS, but I often take it for the stealth component. In Fly I pretty much only like Fly. In Leaping I like Combat Jump, but don't like Super Jump. Fighting and Leadership have multiple powers that are good. Experimentation and Presence have 1 great power, but you have to take 2 lackluster powers to get there. I thought I was going to love the new concealment pool, but it doesn't work the way I would have liked, so no longer interested in that pool. Teleport seems like it could be interesting, but haven't tried the new pool yet. I think opening it up would allow more build diversification. The 4 pools standard has been for so long that it is not really interesting for me any longer. Opening it up would allow me to take more powers I want as opposed to taking some I don't really want, but am limited in my ability to select. We are likely going to get new pools in the future, so opening it up would prep for future use. I'm really looking forward to the Gadgets and Utility Belt pools. I will definitely be taking the utility belt pool if it comes out.

I'm mainly building for soft-cap defense and S/L resistance. I wanted to see if anyone can suggest improvements. I have never tried to solo Numina. I have a BS/SD Stalker who soloed all the other TFC TFs, but because Numina has a GM I was doubtful I could do it. Does the GM spawn as an AV when solo? Anyone have experience soloing Numina on a Stalker and any tips?
-
I went with Scrapper mainly because I already had most of the Scrapper ATOs in storage. Already level 25, so chugging along! Thanks all!
-
How would ATOs change it for you? I'm still struggling on the pick. I dropped the Stalker idea, but I have never played a Brute or Tanker to 50, so leaning to one of them. Then again the Claws/SR scrapper seems classic.
-
I've finally decided to try Claws / SR mainly based on posts from Bill Z Bubba indicating his love for the combo. I'm trying to decide whether to do Brute, Scrapper, Stalker, or Tank. Anyone got suggestions or recommendations? Pros / Cons?
-
I was realizing I had not seen a Redlynne build in awhile and so I checked Red's posts. Looks like almost a year since the last post. I hope Red is okay...
-
Beam/Devices for me is fully ranged.
-
The Black Scorpion mission people mentioned. The incarnate Sister Solaris mission when you are on the boat beating the tentacles. Sometimes the incarnate Sister Solaris mission where you are searching in the haze.

Now that page 2 is out I want to suggest allowing more pools to be selected if possible. I could see myself wanting powers from Fighting, Concealment, Speed, Fly, Leaping, and Leadership, but I can't have all. Any reason not to increase the number of pools?
