My Ice - Super Reflexes build. - Sentinel Blizzard

I'm inclined to agree there. The only enhancements that are boosted are the epic/pvp sets, which does imply exemping down. -
My Ice - Super Reflexes build. - Sentinel Blizzard

My nitpicks: Putting Sentinel's Ward in an AoE ability, good. Putting in a pseudo-pet ability, less good. But then Ice Storm is also pretty bad, so maybe you're just muling it. You have 57% global accuracy, do you really also need Kismet and Tactics as well too? You didn't put Gaussian's in Aim. I see you're chasing resists. Unless you're going after bleeding edge content it's unnecessary. Especially if you're solo, because you simply don't have the damage output to justify it. -
I said it doesn't in the first post.

Honestly pets in general are going to be a higher dps option than just giving yourself two more attack options, before granting you 5% more resistance debuff. The trick is keeping them alive long enough to do that damage.

EDIT: Most firstly, Make a copy of the rotation tab. It just makes things easier in case you accidentally break something. Unfortunately there's a bit of legwork to using the sheet these days, especially after adding in all the pool powers. Firstly select your powers: Primary, Secondary, Epic, 4 Pools with the drop down options in the top right. If you take Dual Pistols, also select your ammo. You can choose what kind of targets you're fighting and their level against you. It's defaulted to a Rikti Pylon at +0. I usually use +3 Global Average though. I'd like to include numbers for Incarnate Trials, but I don't have numbers for those. If this is a character that already exists you can pull set bonus values from the Character Attrib screen. That's by far the easiest way to track those down for me. But honestly you're probably using the sheet to see how you want to build (min/max) a character that isn't made yet. In that case you can pull those bonuses from Mid's, I usually just mouse over and count them out. Then select whatever Incarnates you're using from the drop downs. Next put your enhancement values into the green blocks. I usually do it by each enhancement, but Darkness was just putting the total value in one cell. Either works fine. After a few runs you'll kind of just know the numbers and it gets much faster. Next you put any procs you may have used. Miscellaneous procs like -recharge or slows aren't included. Just stuff that increases damage. Finally, choose whether you're doing single target or multi target. Then drop in your ability numbers in the green bar. You can reference the abilities/numbers in the block that's above and to the right.

In the damage increase? I don't know how to answer that. It might also be in the logs for healing or something where the other buff notifications go, but I didn't check for it since I never have that on.
-
Well, everyone can get Patrons and Incarnates. That applies to everyone. Electric can just +1 to what everyone else can do.
-
This was one I had to test before I put it in the sheet. I also tested if the pet was affected by any other outside buffs like Assault. It is not. Sheet expected vs pylon: 35.592 (close enough) +80%: 64.0656 (also close enough)
-
Napkin math is inclined to agree with your assessment. Sometimes it comes down to, "Do I want the 1PPM chance to do 80% more damage, or the 3.5PPM chance to do 71 more damage?" and it will probably make 0 difference in the end.
-
While I was doing my runs it was suggested I take Decimation out of the attack and see the numbers. It was on Dominate, and Dominate was specifically placed after Aim and before the abilities that would take best advantage of the 80% boost. It ended up adding like 6dps? I was whelmed. Just regular whelmed.

Yeah, I read the original arcanaville post wrong. After doing my own testing I was getting results varying from standard arcanatime, to longer than arcanatime, to less than cast time but there was a buffer time between abilities, to just flat cast time. So I just don't know what to do with all the info. It seems like arcanatime is just a good average time to stick with.

Somewhere between yes, more than yes, and also no.
-
Maybe it's an age thing, but when this game came out I was in my early 20s and every character I made was Mutation. These days I'm staring down 40. I might give the origin a minor thought, but my go to is almost always Science.
-
Definitely have to turn it to minimal gfx. Then you just need an excuse to have glowy fists, and do you really need one? The trick is just finding colors that aren't ugly.
-
It's not that it's a disinterest, Bio is definitely a top end, good all around set. It's just a lot of work to type up the guides and I have a bunch of other pet projects I work on in addition to finding time to actually play the game.
-
Not pseudo-pets though. It turns out that it's not just Sparky that will trigger a second stack of the -5% Resist debuff. The Patron pets will also do in a pinch. Or you can double dip and have 2 pets applying it.
-
In the aspect of what the planned intention of the AT is, you are absolutely correct. I mean, we have what Captain Powerhouse has said, but that vision and the actual execution of that vision don't exactly line up. But mechanics wise? We have everything on that.
-
So you're saying I'm going to need Deflection and Battle Agility from Shield Defense, but also Fire Shield and Plasma shield from Fiery Aura?
-
What are your favorite things about Sentinels?
Underfyre replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in Sentinel
I like Defense secondaries, but I hate jockeying for a melee position next to a fairly small mob. I get my defense and I can just plink away at range without having to reposition all the time. It's nice. -
I mean, I feel like literally, literally, anybody can do a write up for ability descriptions and they can be copy/pasted into the files. We can groupthink the stuff together in a thread and offer it up for them to put in.

I'm just saying a I have a Dark/Fire build that simply won't function without both Ageless and Cardiac. 3/5 of the attacks in the rotation are procced, plus running 10 toggles. Endurance vanishes quickly towards the tail end of Ageless. All this for a slightly above average damage output, assuming 250 is average. The steps I take to not use Bio.
-
5sho. Proc heavy builds are end hungry to the point of needing Cardiac Alpha to sustain, so only the strongest of primaries are worth doing it to. Once you step into Cardiac territory, you're obviously taking a hefty hit from the lack of Musculature, so your primary better be pulling some weight to make it worth the loss.
-
Man, I didn't come to this board to be attacked like that.
-
Only the upper echelon of primaries will break 300+ on a pylon run. "Average" sets are sitting around the 250 range, 220s at the low end. This is with them all using Psi. The lowest end do not use Psi. There's a very wide margin between the best sets and the worst sets (Electric high, Psi Blast low).

After fixing the PPM calc and doing tests the numbers are still 10% short with a purely %damage build and no other variables, so the PPM calcs weren't even in play. The only issue I found after checking cast times frame by frame is the cast times going from zero delay to well past arcanatime delay. So I tried removing arcanatime entirely and DPS was still short. Tolerably short, but still short. Blasters having a bigger bonus to their melee abilities than their blasts? Checks out. Everyone else being tuned off of the Blasters already weaker-than-melee blast sets? Perfection.
