  1. It's just a flavour adding emote. There's no actual meaning to it and remember, it came out before Will Smith made it to Oscar night!
  2. I prefer to do the latter but given that it's clearly a legit and permissible tactic to get a lowbie there and reap the rewards it's a non-issue so far as I can see. We don't even know if the player of the lvl 4 character had other high level characters on that shard. Maybe they just wanted to experience it. As the OP tells it, I can't see that there's anyone else at fault than the OP. They did the shout out then buggered off to do something else and complains when he isn't in control of the outcome.
  3. I don't think I can say "Never" - I've rolled pretty well every AT in this game at some point but I've not played several to any appreciable level at all.
  4. I'd be happy with just two costume types per pet and an option to recolour them
  5. Exactly this. Just because other MMOs do it, doesn't mean we should. One reason this is such a great game is that it's not generic and has its own rules and charms. It works as it is, and the proposed suggestion doesn't add anything to the player experience and as others point out would seriously unbalance the game and ruin it /jranger
  6. I don't RP very often. I can, and I like to think I'm reasonable at it but I don't tend to hang out in RP chats nor do I create contiguous stories or work through character scenarios in great detail... usually. I had an idea the other day that may change this and I wanted to run it by you guys as a discussion and for input and advice. Our game is very much centred around the the character as the main protagonist. Your character, your story. You create your character at level 1 and work up to 50 and then beyond. How you do that is your own business. You follow the constructs of the game but there's a lot of flex in there that we already know about. Then at 50 you go through the incarnates levels and then you farm and accumulate all the goodies and stuffs and build your best toon evah... or you might shelve it and move on. Neither of those is wrong. I was talking with friends and had an idea: What if it wasn't a singular person, but an object - a physical thing, that imbued the wearer/owner/carrier of this object with power. The thing can grow over time but it might change owners, either by accident or willingly. Is it sentient? There are plenty of examples out there, the best known is the One Ring that Frodo bore to Mordor but before that had been variously owned by Smeagol and then Bilbo. Previously it had been created and worn by the dark lord Sauron. Originally it was simply a ring of invisibility but then it became the One Ring to bind them all... So it clearly grows in power or at least adjusts. (I understand Tolkien gave it additional power as he wrote - but that's not really part of this debate.) I originally thought it might be a pair of eye-glasses or spectacles - but that might be a bit Joe 90. (Bonus points if you get that refence or danced at the Twisted Wheel.) Then I remembered an old British comic book series called "The Gauntlet of Fate" - where this medieval chainmail gauntlet (I know, not entirely coherent) would be found and worn by contemporary people who'd then do extraordinary things with it. I forget the comic or the main details but it would be a different person every episode but the gauntlet was the power. This struck me as a very interesting concept within the framework here but it is inherently an RP scenario. We can create a character with a different look and feel but the powers must be the same (or must they?) Our primary and secondary are fixed. But pool powers, APP/PPP are mutable and can be created differently within a built of one character. We also have 9 handy costume slots and the ability to upload potentially infinite costumes. We may have to visit Serge or Facemaker from time to time when we want Gender Realignment Surgery - to change sex/body shape - but that's a small limitation. I'm currently thinking the object itself may well be a kind of mystical mask or hood, but I haven't precluded it being a weapon or something similar that already exists in game. But given that it's the object that levels and that the person wielding it may well be very different the next week or even mission, I need to ask the following: What AT and Power Sets lend themselves most appropriately to this scenario? One week you're mild-mannered accountant Jeremy Boxhall-Compton and the next you're Sarah McDonald, housewife. Then suddenly you're Bobby "The Bullet" Bristow, amateur boxing champion down on his luck. How do I capture that in one single AT and set combination? Does the "will" or "demeanour" of the person wielding the object have a bearing on its performance? Can its alignment change with the bearer? (Or vice versa?) Are these people connected in any way or does The Object just move around random people in the city? Does it go back to a person twice? Is the item in question of good or evil intent? Does The Object itself change to suit the moment? Is it a hat one day, a jacket tomorrow, and last week is was a pair of very well fitting but horribly coloured pants?!?! I don't yet have all the answers (I don't think I even have many at this stage) but I'd love some of your input and feedback. I have the bones of a character fleshed out on Everlasting but that's nascent and can be changed so without revealing it I'd prefer your input.
  7. This is something that I don't get. I mean, O2 Boost is essential for teams. It's like having an unlimited amount of Emerge insps to hand. I think those who tend to hate it think of it as a heal. I think of it as a really good Break Free with a small element of healing. I also love Hurricane since it keeps enemies at bay and makes anyone stupid enough to get close weak and stupid 😆
  8. Scrappers and Stalkers
  9. That was not explicit in their post. I actually figured they were going for something to break ToS in this game. If that's what they did mean it concerns me even more. I genuinely think that somebody who did that would put our entire project at risk. That is unacceptable to me
  10. Maybe that's why Lady Gray is so livid in that cut scene in the Vanguard medical facility? 😮
  11. I had them delivered and stacked in a corner. Telekinesis is much better than it used to be!
  12. Why is this thread a Prostrate Specific Antigen?
  13. I already solo'd Galactus with a Mind/TA controller
  14. Why would they? I mean, apart from obvious TOS issues, which can get you seriously disciplined (or worse) this is is own, rich universe with plenty of content and some very exciting and interesting tales there are plenty of Marvel games to play... I genuinely don't see the point of making this part of the MCU
  15. There are some great "hidden places" in both Paragon City and the Rogue Isles (less certain about Praetoria) A couple of my favourites are the Hangman's Tree and also the poor bugger in the latrine in Grandville who's in some serious discomfort. One sympathises!
  16. Punching hedgehogs can be dangerous. Ask any badger!
  17. Content makes me content
  18. I've never really played Zombies as an MM set. I mean I have but only to low level when its underwhelming nature made me junk the toon for something else. I did just dust off a Zombie/Storm MM which had lain in mothballs for... a long time. I was duoing with a pal and I suddenly realised it was quite a lot of fun actually. He was lvl 30 and has most of the good powers and seemed quite survivable, though a bit heavy on the Endurance. But #I also realised he wasn't slotted well and I'm uncertain of some of the powers he has access to. Life Drain seems pretty good and has gotten me out of some tough situations even without Procs or IOs (all SO build so far) and I'm quite impressed by Soul Extraction which seems to be really good - am I over-egging this particular pudding? How good is it? What are the essential powers (other than the obvious pets and boosts?) Would Soul Extraction benefit from serious recharge? Advice & input is most welcome
  19. It's a single page, not an issue. We not long ago had a big page drop This is F2P run by an entirely volunteer, unpaid Dev team. I'd say they are doing an excellent job all things considered and new updates, however "insubstantial" they are, are very welcome.
  20. I'm using my WASD keys for direction since I use a Tarterus for my left hand and a Naga for my right. I almost never use the actual keyboard
  21. A point to note: Last I used the ticket system I didn't get the reward I paid for. I believe it's bugged and I've seen nothing to address that. I did report it at the time but to my knowledge nothing came of that. So, doubly not worth it. The only time tickets are worth much anyhow to my mind is when you're low on rare salvage and need to replenish your stocks but don't want to spend the inf.
  22. I'm trying to make this into a Macro rather than bind, so there's a power (in my case I'm calling it "HST") in my tray. How do I get that to work. I'm keying to my S (backwards) key.
