I think we need to be a tad careful here and I will try to explain why. The forums are a bit of an echo chamber - I'm pretty sure I'm right in saying only a small proportion of the user base uses them on a regular basis. I have noticed when I am asking for build help most of the builds I either post are critiqued for not having enough procs in them - and certainly almost all teh builds posted in response to requests have a lot of high end sets in and a fair few procs. I put that down to min-maxing, and to a certain extent the natural competitiveness that we see on forums in general. Folks build the best build they can - so we tend not to see too many "that'll do the job" builds. Add those factors intogether and you get increasingly expensive builds that do super-high damage and give amazing Def/Rech and generally do more than most players need. That's not a bad thing - in fact it helps average players like me improve my build skilz and also understand better what certain powers and sets and procs actually do. But are they necessary? No. I believe it's still true that the game remains built around SO's and those are largely enough - but a simple invention set far surpasses those and does a pretty reasonable job at almost all content but if you want to solo Dilemma Diabolique at x12x37, then you really are gonna need a build that's chocaprocs

So I'm referencing this post: I've played a couple of Brutes in the past and had a Mace/SR brute on live. I have never played Staff ever and rarely play melee so advice on what to look for in brutes and Staff/ST generally would be appreciated. T.I.A.

Per character across all my 24 accounts

on live when I was a novice I got chased by some Tsoo. I ran into a train station thinking I'd be safe but they ran straight past the drones and "defeated"* me in the station itself. I thought this may have been a bug and so submitted a petition to the GMs who said it could happen and was working as intended. I think most NPCs are vulnerable to drones but it is not a done deal and the drone still needs to zap the NPC's HP. Therefore if it has enough, like Giant Monsters generally do, and isn't in the range of the drone for long enough it may well survive - at least for a while.

A lot will depend on the character and the SG and what it means to you. If the SG is important, then it may well be better to recreate that character on the new shard and level them to 50. That doesn't take very long at all these days.

not recently had an issue with this largely because I've relocated to Indom and I've had fewer characters there - even after transferring some from other shards. Mostly I am guided by the emotional connection that I have to a character once it's got to 50. My typical MO is to roll a toon, run it to 50, get it at least partially slotted and incarnated then see how I feel about it. Some characters have a far bigger impact on me than others and they will be at the top of my shard list ready for the next level 50 content. Then those I'm working on in various stages usually in some semblance of level order and 50s that are very unlikely to get much attention at the back.

I don't see an MM's minions necessarily as pets. Some obviously are, beasts and demons for example, but thugs could very easily be an agglomeration of like-minded individuals grouping around the smartest guy in the room to get the task done. Tarzan and Dr Doolittle could easily be MMs in a sense too.

I'm not usually a fan of time travel stories, or alternate realities for that matter But truthfully the whole Ouroboros thing, which was created for characters to run content they had missed, is a truly inventive and imaginative solution to solving that issue and some of the spin off stories can be very fun as well.

Kill them all. The Lord shall know His own! But I would also have to say that an Illusion troller is possibly not the best choice for someone who's never played anything other than DPS. It's not an awful choice and this game is relatively forgiving but there might be better options. That said, if she's enjoying it, then it's all good

I hate DP. I just don't like the look or the way it plays but otherwise it's a good suggestion. It certainly busts those moves.
