  1. The Homecoming team does not have anything to do with MIDS devs. <personal_opinion> Also, I disagree that people need another app and stop playing the game to play the game. </personal_opinion>
  2. Bullet tipped with mini space folder! Eh, wait, that sounds wrong.
  3. Mara doesn't like to be late. Lateness in the line of duty often means someone gets killed. Once, she spotted a pack of Ghouls late. One chewed her arm off. Another time, a report of a stolen neutron bomb didn't come in on time. It led to a wild goose chase that lasted for 24 hours. Guess who had to stay awake the whole time and fight a bunch of cornered thugs while she was half asleep? The bomb turned out to be a dud was the icing on the cake.
  4. In my opinion, I couldn't care less whether an AI or a human wrote the text I read. A good story is a good story regardless of its writer. However, I don't speak English. So, my bar for good writing is low. In hindsight, I noticed that ChatGPT loves sometimes repeat things. Three thank yous in three sentences. And it is a bit wordy.
  5. Usually the elderly, people whose thought box is no longer working properly. Or people who are in desperate need. So desperate that they can no longer see the red flags. I hope I won't end up like them.
  6. This link might help: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Merit_Rewards I think it depends on your skill/build and your definition of wasteful. You can solo a trial, but it's difficult and you can fail. (wasted effort) SFs give better rewards than story arcs, but getting stuck in an SF is a time waste. Redside Giant Monsters (aside from Arachnos Transport) only spawn after a certain condition is met. You'd have to kill a hundred critters to spawn the GM. Accolades from exploration badges give merits, but their number is limited. edit If your toon can solo an AV, do the weekly target SF, then do other SFs you like. GM hunting is a good alternative if you don't mind killing a hundred critters first. Otherwise, stick to story arcs.
  7. It is a bug. Escort, captive, and ally will say their dialogue whenever you enter a mission in AE. They will recite their lines even if you put them all in the back section of a multi-floor map.
  8. CoH's mid-level missions have never been friendly for solo players since issue 0. That's what I was trying to say. For accessibility, my option back then was to set the difficulty to -1x1 since I was a Freem. Today, thanks to Homecoming Team, I have more options (IOs, amplifiers, temp powers, for example). Also, welcome back!
  9. I have a somewhat similar experience. Regarding low mid-level story arcs: On average, I faceplant between 0 - 3 times for every solo mission. (+0x1 difficulty). The defeats become less frequent around level 30. At that point, my toon has enough slots to enhance their stats effectively. I played Agent Watkin's arc using a new toon. The survival rate was abysmal. In contrast, running the contents using Lv.50 toons yield much better results. This problem also happens to a lesser extent when I run incarnate missions. Unlocking level shift fixes the problem. So, back to your post, consider setting your difficulty to -1 or hoarding P2W items (if you have spare inf). If you don't mind waiting, farm and power level your toon to Lv. 50, make a complete build (purples and ATOs are optional), then solo the contents. Those lieutenants won't stand a chance against you.
  10. Gris. Not sure what I am playing right now. It is beautiful, though.
  11. Typical features in missions aren't always available in AE. Enemies can't switch to your side after taking a certain amount of damage, for example. Also, you can't set some mission details as non-optional objectives (Battles and Patrols). As a workaround, how about making two separate bosses? You may want to put the escaping boss in the middle part or front while the soon-to-be-defeated boss is in the back. Set the escaping boss as an optional mission, allowing players to miss the boss. The escaping boss will flee when their HP reaches 50%. As TerrorNoir has suggested, use critters with teleport abilities. Write something about using their emergency teleporter in their defeat dialogue, just in case players defeat them. You can also hint that a battle has occurred recently or the betrayal in the starting dialogue. The soon-to-be-defeated boss will say something about the previous offscreen battle. ("You can't run away from me, Escaping Boss!") This boss will talk using defeat dialogue and give a clue to find the escaping boss. Set this boss as the primary objective.
  12. I got it. The Tsoo used a substitution cipher. Just for fun, try to decipher the message yourself. The key word to the cipher system (spoiler): Ditto. The cipher key does not contain "TSOO." I am disappointed, tsoo.
  13. I found an encrypted clue in The Tsoo Shenanigans' story arc. Has anyone ever decrypted this thing? The clue doesn't seem to be very crucial, since I can complete the arc just fine without solving the clue.
  14. Gold side toons are not capped in a general sense, but after Lv.20, there are only a few contents available for them. One Lv.50 Incarnate content (The Emperor's Sword) is available from Pillar of Ice and Flame in your SG, but not Ouroboros. There are repeatable missions in Praetoria, First Ward, and Night Ward, but your toon will eventually out-level them. Passive accolade powers will be unavailable, aside from long-range teleportation.
  15. Even a native Praetorian doesn't talk to a gold side character: Outrageous!
  16. My experience was mostly positive. My toon is a loyalist, but I prefer neither the Resistance nor Loyalist arcs. In my opinion, the storylines were more mature than Blue or Red. (In hindsight, they came out after Blue and Red). They also give you several ways to complete a mission using optional objectives. Some of the story arcs know your prior action, which is neat. ("Were they out of decaf?" "Wha..?") The ambushes on the gold side are better (deadlier). Also, there are a few collectible missions in the city, similar to patrol missions, but they give more freedom. Sadly, not many people like it. I have no idea about Lv.50 content, but I've always wanted a better Praetorian War. I mean a real war with a global scope and ramifications. Compared to the Riktis, I hate how the lore treats the Praetorians. Nevertheless, it's a pipe dream at this point.
  17. I saw an Abomination standing next to a swimming pool in Faultline. So, naturally, this makes me think. If I give that zombie a friendly push, Will it float?
  18. "Chilling" I constantly overhear weird things around the corner. These guys, for example, were discussing real estate in First Ward.
  19. I googled "Castle CoH PVP" and I found this: https://www.engadget.com/2008-10-14-city-of-heroes-pvp-changes-explained-at-length.html Based on the emojis and the word "irony", I presume the player base didn't receive the changes very well.
  20. Who's the supplier? Did Slarrah purchase them from some random US soldiers/scientists? Maybe Circle cultists?
