I would go energy mastery. Until 50. Then yoiu can take Cardiac Alpha, solve all your issues and respec But maybe you want to look at Hyperstrike MO durable builds and play the unstoppable force. In high end content your extra AoE will mean little, you will get a Judgement nuke, and EM is a ST specialist. Lean into that. If you want In tough 50+++ content things are going to go one of two ways. 1) almost always, team and league buffs that take care of your end issues, even if you go musculature alpha instead of cardiac 2) you are out on your own relying on blues and hoping no one has end drain or recovery debuff on you

your best way to learn things is to play. period. at 50 everything helps with incarnate, some a lot more than others. read Oklahoman's guide. Doug covered everything else pretty well. Badges are tough. 25% fall in your lap. Sort of. You can bop through every zone in the game and get location badges and history plaques for about 530? badges. and merits. Takes 4? hours non stop if you know it. 10+ if not. Some of the maps and badges are really....interesting. For badges the most important ones are badges that give accolade powers. Check homecoming wiki, then laser focus on getting those. The rest...happen. The more you play one toon the more you collect.

I have been involved in too many Tank discussions about “ what is toughest tank” and in the end the OP picks SR, Regen, or Fire. It is maddening. Look, how well a Tank performs against different enemies at 54x8 and tougher is largely based on the interaction with Tanks various armors. A set like Invul that covers the classic Def/Res/Heal and can be built up is great. I have a Dark that does well, but i built the crap out of it and understand it does not operate at all like normal armors. I play it smart and it does well, for me. I have heard at least one person say it dies for them in regular content. Even with the toughest Tank built near perfect once the enemies are dialed up you have to be proactive. So, once you listen to all the advice and pick a Fire armor I wish you great luck. Just play actively and play to win.

I said first thing respec. My ice/dark/dark corr had soul drain pbaoe changes to spirit drain ranged aoe. Plus, after a recent incarnate trial i wanted to move heavily into leadership toggles. I barely log in and there is a pug looking to try for the new LGTF badges. I join! I hit my base while leader recruits. I grab a mad handful of overwhelming force enhancers. Then log back to rwz2 and use enhancement unslotters to pull out the 5 pbaoe and slam in OF. The new LGTF setting is mad hard. And confusing. There were waves of team deaths. These were good players. We kept together and made the most of each sacrifice. Every mission is radically changed. New enemies new mechanics. Some of these folks, the leader especially, must have been running this on beta. The last fight was confusing, epic, grand. I was so lost if not incan’d to the right spot. We won, two badges. What a way to start! Then I did a major respec lol.

Well, they did warn you. But your recharge was so nerfed the message just reached you.

Mids used to allow two very good posts to the boards where you could eyeball sets. Then they decided not to support that any longer. Somehow, with a twenty year old game that has added a few sets and one AT, these folks have managed to slow Mids performance to a crawl and lose all export capacity. It is an epic fail.

in all serious i have a number of Blasters who never get CCd. never. But i have a very different play style and build approach. If you want a fire/fire/fire blaster more power to you. carry break frees and run leadership tactics. maybe rune of prot if you can fit it. I doubt you run the sets i run that are the most safe. Beam Rifle and Elec, both with Temp second and built for range. pure range. lot of range. i can post those builds, but the concept is... most enemies just mez those around them. or really even attack those around them. damn lazy.

on my respec for the new version i will respec into leadership pool. there are two powers i could drop and not even notice and my end bar has never been an issue.

Oranbega? Love to hate it, hate to love it. It is part of the lore now. Even reinvented on new everything they should keep all the old floor plans. The blue cave maps. ehhh... a hole is a hole. The pancake room sucks, the fly in a semi circle to thread the needle and find the tunnel to the next section lol? priceless. You could redo every real cave map in CoH and we would complain still. About losing what we had, the difficulty of the new stuff. the easiness of the new stuff. the color. the smell...
