Instant healing Toggle instead of click
siolfir replied to TheMuna's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Without even looking, I can tell that the list of links above is missing a lot of the discussions about toggle IH just because none of the links were from the web archive of the old forums. But that's okay, because it makes a fun drinking game. 😄 -
And while we're at it, a fix for Placate
siolfir replied to Wavicle's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Since I haven't bothered using Placate in about 9 years and I'm not in a spot where I can check, a somewhat serious question: was the magnitude ever updated to work on EBs? -
These two definitions are the ones I've always used. This one is probably the best, though.

issue 26 Patch Notes for January 29th, 2020
siolfir replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
@BalrogLord - already been reported in the Bug Reports section here: It's a display issue where PvP effects are showing up in the PvE numbers when they shouldn't be. -
I considered the power creep in my reply but also dismissed it as marginal. I'm not worried that someone would be able to take Hasten, Combat Jumping, Maneuvers, Tactics, Boxing, Tough, Weave, Mystic Flight, Arcane Bolt, and Rune of Protection as 10 of their 21 power picks that they can choose after the pools open at level 4; as I said, that means they're taking less powers from their primary and secondary - powers that should be either stronger in effect or more efficient. There is already an opportunity cost associated with dipping into that many pools.

Can we get any more Play to Win Vendors?
siolfir replied to Bionic_Flea's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Only if we receive them through the mail system as attachments from the Themiscyra company. -
If the origin pools are supposed to be mutually exclusive, then it makes sense to me to group them that way. Power creep would be minimal since you're still limited in the number of total powers you're taking, each pool has prerequisites to get to the higher tier powers, and the primary and secondary powers are supposed to be either stronger or more efficient.

I'm not soloing redside, but some of the other contacts that I think are fun (silly evil) Doc Buzzsaw, level 25-29 (requires Bling badge). Why? Because: Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong? Vernon von Grun, level 45-50: bees, Becky the Tarantula Mistress, bees, a reunion with Pyriss from Peter Themari's arc, bees, Spiderling Scout candies, bees, lessons on evil laughter, and bees. There are other people there, and they are sort of my co-workers, so it might be good if you could get them out too. I may be mad, but I did just order some boxes of spiderling-scout candy from one of their daughters and I'll never get them if all of my co-workers are devoured. Television, level 45-50 (requires Master/Mistress of the Airwaves badge): going through the references in the mission text, the Radio plays a starring role in one of the arcs, and it has several farmable missions that won't take up much time if you don't want to farm them - the first of which has you meet actors Maemae van Whooters and Big McLargeHuge. Books are everywhere, constantly distracting people from watching Television. And Television is everyone's friend, so reading books is just like betraying your friends!

Discord Weekly Discussion - Week 36: Arachnos Widow
siolfir replied to GM Miss's topic in General Discussion
First off, I love my Fortunatas - the melee-focused one I have on Homecoming and the ranged-only one that I had on Infinity. They're in a great spot, and I don't think they need anything, but if I were told that there's time to change things, here's my "wish list": Change the Night Widow path so that Build Up does not lock out Follow Up; it's inconsistent since Fortunatas can take Aim and Follow Up Set the damage cap to 500% to match the "damage ATs" Have a no-redraw option for the claw attacks (both paths swap between Claws and Psi attacks) Some customization of the claws, even if it's only in the extra costume slots Ditch the "no recharge enhancement" restriction in Mind Link: it's not present in Farsight, which is nearly the same power without psi resistance (on ATs that get Power Boost/Power Build Up) Sure, the inherent is... meh, at best. But if you're going to count Assassination as the inherent for Stalkers, Widows also get critical damage from hidden status, they just don't get criticals otherwise. I wouldn't mind tweaking the base recovery portion, but as I mentioned in the first Tanker feedback thread in the beta section pretty much all of the ATs could use more endurance. Edit to add: Why doesn't Tactical Training: Vengeance have at least one attribute "better" than the power pool version that can be picked up 21 levels earlier? You don't need it for the set mule, so it's just a "here, skip this" power, but primary and secondary powers are supposed to be better than the generic pool versions, so it's an exception to that. -
And while we're at it, a fix for Placate
siolfir replied to Wavicle's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
See edit - has more to do with selective Placating and target caps. -
And while we're at it, a fix for Placate
siolfir replied to Wavicle's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'd rather it be a targeted AoE rather than PBAoE so you can still use it on ranged targets, but otherwise /signed. edit to clarify: with the PBAoE it's you don't get to select the first targets before you hit the target cap because it starts with the closest ones, with a targeted AoE you can use it to Placate just the ones over there while you're still shredding the ones that are on you. I could see it being more useful as a panic button as a PBAoE, I just prefer the strategic option of selecting which set of mobs to Placate first. -
I wasn't actually referring to you; the quote from you that I added was in support of my points against the first quote, which I was responding to. Sorry if it came across that way. I went back to edit the post to indicate the part that it was supposed to respond to.

It's only logically inconsistent if you think that the only way to attract new players is upheaval. It's not. Having an enjoyable product that has a low cost of entry and high replayability will get new people involved through word of mouth. Holding events has already worked to bring in more people: And to address the highlighted portion of the first quote: yes, i13 was a long time ago but you're saying that the only way to attract new players is to do the same thing all over again and not learn from the mistakes of the past. That's just incredibly stupid unless your goal is to run off anyone who PvPs here and get rid of it entirely. You'll also note that I didn't bring up reverting i13, you did. I understand that it's a lot of work to undo, and I'm not blaming the current development team for any of it. But if we're talking about reducing the cost of entry, having your character behave more like they do in PvE would probably cause fewer people to run off when they do give PvP a try and realize that they have to make an entirely separate build for all but a few cases. That doesn't even require a full reversion, but it's going to be the largest part of one.

Sentinels.

Never mind, moving right along...

I agree with the first part that I highlighted, and completely disagree with the second. The surest way to kill something is to completely revamp it so that nothing is recognizable from what the people who used to like it enjoyed, because, as you yourself stated, "there's no guarantee that new players will come." That's what happened with the i13 changes - many of which were suggestions from threads like this one, but they were all implemented at once and then never revisited when there were complaints about how things interacted. So instead of trying to gain interest by completely revamping everything to cater to some phantom player that will likely never be interested, you instead listen to the people who enjoy it and figure out why they enjoy it, what makes it unique here, and try to expand on those ideas, so that the people who like it will like it as much or more (theoretically increasing retention of the people who would leave as things grow stagnant), and bring in new players who are looking for those things as well.
-
Well, since words are very... unnecessary, I won't do any harm with this one: ...although it is double dipping on the album for both songs with Silence in the name. But the other choice was pure garbage.
-
Yeah, but I think the complaint was less about emp merits and more about the extra threads and incarnate salvage that you can't shuffle around to alts.
-
key word there: often Note that it is not "always", nor is the clause missing. Also, skipping PvP entirely, if you had to pick the easiest ATs to play that require little to no thought on playing, which would you list first? It may not be polite but there is a grain of truth in it.

I put the formula used in here: But to copy it: scaling S/L/E/N/F/C resistance of minmax(75 - source.kHitPoints%, 0, 100) / 60 * 0.25 You get the same amount from Combat Training: Defensive. It's more per passive than Super Reflexes and it starts earlier in your hp bar (75% instead of 60%) but Super Reflexes gets 3 passives instead of 2.
