Looking to get some names on Excelsior. Moved to Torch to play with RL friends awhile back and they've since abandoned the game, and I'd like to come back to Excelsior with some of my regulars. I've got names for trade on Excelsior for characters I'm less interested in playing, or if you'd like to move to Torch with the same name there we can arrange that, also. Also, do me favor and shoot me a private message if you have any of these names and are not interested in parting with them... will save me time and grief of wondering whether or not I should give up on them. If you want to make a deal, you can private message me here on the forum or in game as @Player2. NAMES WANTED ON EXCELSIOR Big Girl (my main, and my primary interest in bringing over to Excelsior) Boobytrap (I know, I just suggested this and someone grabbed it here a little while back) Espionage White Hot Decider Halloween Girl Hot Spell Kicks Kid Nemesis Lucky 7 Midnight Rose Misfortune Pretense Red Hot Hottie Soulsword Thunderblade NAMES I HAVE TO TRADE ON EXCELSIOR Battle Babe Blixt Blood Mage Boost Cheesecake Crazed Dragonstorm Glory Hammer Instigator Kings Row Queen Large Lass Legendary Mighty One Naked Fury Omnipotence Peerless Quickener Something Else Threat Level

I know people will balk at this, but what about... reusing the animations that exist? As keeps being pointed out, 9 powers minus 2 for Build Up and Taunt is 7 powers for a set... we have 4 animations already, so reuse a couple of the basic attacks for more powerful attacks... and maybe find some non-whip attack/effect to round out the set. I don't think anyone would complain about reusing animations on a couple of straightforward attacks because we'd all be thrilled just to have a whip set.

So, uh... this is in Atlas Park, just a little ways east of Perez Park entrance... floating tree because there's no square planter base like the other trees along the sidewalk. This occurred at [2378.4 -0.0 -1936.4] on Excelsior.

Can we get some more ruined vehicles for variety? The ones in the Destroyed Galaxy City tutorial look more rusted out and beat up than the ones currently in the base editor... and maybe the ruined tank in RWZ?

the Junkyard JUNK-6408 (Excelsior) New landfill open for business, located in the rural area between Baumtown and Croatoa. Plenty of room to run around and jump on old cars and piles of wreckage. Teleport transit system available along the West wall, as well as a small club house in the Northwest corner. Sights to see: The Bonfire: don't get burned on your way in Destroyed Rikti Ship: new arrival, steer clear unless you're suited up or naturally resistant to radiation The Pool: don't swim here Break Room: found a big TV that was still working, so we're keeping it Rec Room: dance floor with music and a lightshow, gaming area, and public restroom facilities (progressively non-gender-specific) Storage Room: where we keep the good junk that we find; vault access also available Mountains of Wreckage: someone keeps stealing our "We Are Not Liable" signs, but we're not liable for injuries if you slip and fall

I really dislike exclusivity. I look at powerset theme as the character's powers and the AT as the means in which they choose to focus that power. Ice, for example... anyone can have ice powers... but do you shoot the ice at people, wrap yourself in it for defense, cut them with icy blades, or make people slip and fall and freeze in their tracks? And even when you pick a theme, you can have multiple options open to you... ice melee? Slow and steady or more aggressive? Ice blast, but are you damage primary or supplement it with more cold to debuff enemies? Ice control... but with secondary focus on buff/debuff or more damage? That's great for ice... and fire... and energy... but what about storm powers? Yeah, you pretty much have to be a defender, corruptor, controller, or mastermind for that. There's no storm armor... there's no storm blast or manipulation. Storm Summoning as a set is pretty focused around the buff/debuff dynamic. It might be nice to see a storm armor set for brutes and tanks and scrappers (but might be too "noisy" for stalkers), but that might require a lot of revamping of the powers to fit into the armor powers mold. Storm Manipulation for blasters might be more doable... but it would probably feel too limited as most Blaster secondaries focus on single targets and self buffing, while storm is more AoE debuff. Sad, because I would love to see more stormy options.

Do you use the presence power pool to get controls?
Player2 replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
I love using Presence + Force of Will in my builds whenever I can. Unrelenting has the self-rez, and a double panic button of Unrelenting + Unleash Potential is quite nice to lean on. Sometimes I 6-slot both with 2 recharge, 2 Heal, and 2 End.Mod. and sometimes I slot 6-slot one with 3 Recharge and 3 Heals and the other with 3 Recharge and 3 Endurance Modification. It depends on the rest of the build and what I feel is most needed. Endurance heavy builds I've even 6-slotted both for 3 Endurance Mods so I can use them in succession for a longer duration of boosted Recovery. -
Storm Summoning primary and Invulnerability secondary... as a sentinel. Yes, I know storm summoning isn't a blast set. I'll get by with changing the weather and blasting people with wind and calling down the lightning storm if I need it. I'd probably use my powers to go where I want and do what I want and ruin picnics, weddings, and various people I don't like. On a positive note, I could break up the summer heatwaves with overcast skies and dropping a snowstorm if it's really, really hot. For travel power, I'd choose teleportation. Flight sounds nice, but I really don't want to have to deal with air traffic... or being mistaken for a bird or a plane by people with low perceptive skills on the ground.

This game needs strip clubs and streetwalkers. Sex sells. But... family friendly environment, so you've just got to find something else to appeal to the masses with.

Dayglo Attack sounds like another character/costume concept to work on.

Something about "head up their ass"? Don't worry, I got it covered on the lack of professionalism.

Neat. I've registered and contributed a few of mine... will upload more later. https://costumes.cityofheroes.dev/userContent?uid=21

"Heroes are murderers because everyone doesn't have access to the medical teleport system." Flawed premise and failed attempt at... whatever, I don't know, making heroes look bad? It presumes that all heroes are using lethal force on the villains and not attempting to subdue. It equates "Defeat" with "Kill" without justifiable explanation. Many heroes punch and kick or use blunt weapons and concussive force energies. It's not all bullets and burning and irradiating enemies to the point where they can't survive. If beating people into submission were automatically equated with death, then every professional boxing match and professional wrestling match has been a death battle.... which is not the case. "Heroes are murderers" is a blatantly false accusation meant to provoke a reaction. MURDERERS are murderers. Some people who fight the villainous may indeed fall into that category, and traditionally in the comics these individuals are referred to as anti-heroes. OP needs to stop spreading lies and propaganda against heroes.

Love it. Love everything about it.

Both are good. Perhaps one is his true face and the other he puts on to appear less menacing.
