  1. So it is, too bad. Here's to hoping it gets added in the next version. Best builds are made in respec mode...
  2. This may win the daft question of the day award. Is there a way to toggle "respec mode" in Pine's so slots can be placed and moved willy-nilly without regard for level, as if you were respec'ing in the game? Turning off "slot levels" does not help as it just turns off the display of slot levels, not placement rules. It's driving me up the wall.

  4. I second that. Justin is pretty much a necessity these days.
  5. Did you read Local Man's guide to Ill/Rad? Helpful to know which end is up on what. Here's approximately what I use, it could stand some tweaking but it fits your requirements as long as you stay on top of AM. The most crucial incarnate is Alpha Agility (obv.). | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1498;655;1310;HEX;| |78DA65935B4F13511485CFB483404B29C81D5A68CBBDF702896FA25CD5805649785| |29B060A4C5229694BA28FBE7B7FD047352AD7C4DFA2BE2AC63FA0A0C6444D4CDDED| |5AB40D9D64F2CDACBDD73E7BCF9C337F7BAAEEEDECDD71A5354C26E3994C6C32B59| |E4DA792C944BA667E331BCF1AA9752597F36232B9999117D7B5F8B251905DA5D46A| |C9E82DBD1E17091E9B8E054F59CEC4E6CA4AB0582C367DCBC8E45395359A12E74CD| |2585DCBDAF09C7F34D6572D85B7858D4462D95E789C4BC49713E9CC9AB1D13CBD61| |2C05A3F902C6526C3E9EC926D277DAA5AB7EB99F6B8A57AE4AF94D4A4574650A904| |1500F9161F05404BC5CF2EACA6146CC09D674933DA0C505BE108FC6F5B42DC6B6C1| |BA1D7217ACDF23F7C1976234733DF375F4D07083BC099E8E9171F08A78AAE031559| |D11E866D57C8251C9A9664FD5F7E06BBD4F3E00DB1F928FC0CEC7E02BF1D6B27E6D| |8B86985B15E820AF8A6C458E663D11AB95856D88996DF477FF26FF907FC1D7023B7| |2959DB956F1376AD01AFF417B2368E23C4D87E8D375447E277F80EE9FE424B820DE| |167EE3966DD473EF82BD7BE43EB92374CA3E911EDAD8575B27E6DA925007EB747C4| |47EDF27F280FC0C0E7C01CD52A78BB374F9514717CD09CDE4E4CC0316B21ECCB7D9| |C3797BCE628EC171F21C791E1C9E207FA1FE3BD9501EFE3F0FEB0FB3BE97F517359| |C95FC2CFD53F07BA7C90BA07F969C01DF4BDD21F63D3482FDEB0F818108F841E0E3| |DABE11F802A3E418E891F983CC09FAD073E80455AB52617EFF306770E8C5B3A914F| |F89B3A4E5BCE5F19C5C2A5CA1442A94D10A65AC42992B57025839AA174FBDD2FAB8| |F31B8AA739F7D52271FE79AD17F1C39266D2DCF862A14B220CEA2AB28829BF95FB8| |6E03B2AF73DC3578C3C219F82FF01A695E097| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  6. I missed the donation window :-X :-X :-X
  7. Download and set up a private server. We are all playing on borrowed time. I am tremendously thankful to the Homecoming team for making this whole thing happen, but they are a handful of unpaid volunteers that run, maintain and manage a game with a rapidly growing player base. Eventually they might get tired of it, and nobody can blame them - running a multiplayer game is a rather thankless task. Human factor might also get in the way - people disagree, people leave, people take stuff down because they don't like being disagreed with (see: Rebirth). And there is no company with salaries, benefits and stakeholders that would prevent that from happening. On the other hand, tomorrow NCSoft might decide that we all have had quite enough fun and shut this whole shebang down hard. They will never quash the small-scale private servers, but they can easily go after the bigger ones like HC. So, play and have fun like tomorrow the servers won't be up anymore. And have a back up strategy - a private server - in case it does happen, so you can scratch your CoH itch later.
  8. Soloing as a Brute or a Scrapper is generally considered EZMode, from 1 to 50. Brutes and scrappers regularly solo/duo task forces, GMs, AVs and pylons. If you want something less of a blunt instrument (and want to stay at range), an Illusion controller provides you with an unkillable "pet tank". Corruptors are another solid option, and Sentinels too (though the latter's damage output is unimpressive and may prevent you from making headway against stronger enemies).
  9. My main (Extor) would be played by Oded Fehr, looking about the same as he does these days in Blood and Treasure.
  10. One thing that stops me from playing melee (and always has) is the fact that you seem to have to stay on the ground. I love flying. I know SJ/SS is faster and there is no practical reason to insist on flying, but it's "my thing". Also, when you fight giant-sized enemies in melee, you look dumb just beating up on their ankles. Are there any melee sets that function well in the air?
  11. I know we can replace some textures (icons, maps) in the client. Is it also possible to manipulate power visuals? For example, can I make a fire bolt look like an energy bolt by replacing the corresponding textures and/or models? I know that only I would be able to see the client-side change, and that is all that matters to me. If this is possible, where do I start?
  12. And yet you are still talking. Impressive. I thought you children of smartphones were mostly nonverbal.
  13. Uhh... you lost, lill buddy? Fortnite boards are that way. Or is it PUBG? that's a couple doors down. "Yeetsman". Kek. Thanks for a laugh.
  14. They come from the Control Hybrid incarnate, but as to what they mean, I'm not quite sure.
  15. Melee is so far ahead of everyone else that comparing to it will always bring up the feeling of inadequacy. Them's the breaks; it has always been like that and always will be in CoH. It's not that you are "useless", it's that they produce a much more tangible impact. A dead enemy is very much a "controlled" enemy after all. However, it all adds up. I.e. like people said, Phantom Army is about the only thing that can reliably "control" an AV. Buffs and debuffs make things easier (often by orders of magnitude). But as far as turning live enemies into dead enemies, you'll always feel inadequate standing next to a brute or a scrapper.
  16. "My greatness is but for a select few to admire, from afar, and only upon appropriate application of lips to my exalted posterior."
  17. Eh, you do you, I won't get in the way. As mentioned, you clearly still have something to prove in this game (speaking of growing up and all), and I've always been a proponent of letting special people be special. So go on with your bad self, score all those points you haven't gotten around to scoring all those years ago. Bless your special lill heart, as they say down South. That said, the OP asked for help, and strangely enough, I seem to be the most helpful so far in posting an actual build rather than spouting generalities and making false claims. And yes, I could go mace and pick up a pet and shove another Expedient Reinforcement in there, but bloody hell I DON'T WANT TO. Without incarnates it's ALMOST perma-PA, and it actually can do a pylon in between 3 and 4 minutes with some practice. Aside from some minor rejigging this was my build all along, and I do admit to one major screw-up - that is, not knowing that you have to hump the target in order for Heat Loss to actually work. Which is unfortunate. With Agility, PA becomes perma. See, it's not rocket surgery. People just want to have fun, and have it bloody well now, because we are all playing on borrowed time.
  18. Choking Cloud, Fallout, Flash and possibly Mutation are all skippable. EM Pulse is too nice to skip however. Superior Invisibility is End-hungry, might want to slap an EndRedux in there instead of LotG Def/End Redux.
  19. And since the coryphei of Ill/Cold can't be arsed to post their builds because god forbid someone may touch greatness, here's mine. It works. Sort of. 21. Aw, you are so cute when you are passive-aggressive. You want my build? By all means, when I get home. It's the blandest Ill/Rad you'll ever lay your eyes on. It works. It is also worthless. After Local Man's guide, they are all worthless.
  22. Not a damn thing is wrong, it's just some guys still have something to prove in a game that went offline a dog's age ago because they forget that everything that there was to prove has been long since proven. They also forget that none of this means much, since the moment NCSoft decides we've had enough fun, Homecoming and every other public server will go poof... So they act like condescending bell ends because they didn't get their moment in the spotlight back then, and think that it'll somehow help them recapture the glory days. Sad existence, that.
  23. Sure, do it without cheats (Incarnates) and then we'll talk. The specific conversation here is about a build not relying on crutches doing something impressive. With incarnates, damn near anything that isn't gimped by definition suddenly turns capable. Haha, first off you can drop the "elder statesman wise sensei" act, this is 2019 and we are all elder statesmen here... FFS... nobody is particularly impressed. Put up or shut up as the cool kids say... your build isn't some precious state secret, so if you want to prove a point, prove it with more than general statements that we've all chewed over a million times by now.
  24. This is all talk until a build is shown, buddy :)
  25. Can you post your build please? I was really not able to squeeze much more recharge out of the one I put together. EDIT: The more I test, the more I'm convinced that you are embellishing the truth a bit. WITH incarnates (Agility and Ageless specifically) Ill/Cold DOES become absolutely beastly, because you actually CAN indefinitely maintain that constant offensive chain. Without it however, it very much struggles. On my test character, I have LoTGs and Red Fortunes up the wazoo (with Hasten, 165% recharge) and that is NOT quite enough to make PA perma; but that's not even the biggest issue. The biggest issue is with all the defensive toggles running (which IS necessary, what with PA not being perma and having no self heal), this character goes OOP very quickly, especially if it needs to constantly keep up the pressure (vs. pylons and such). You can't just take a moment to wait for endurance to come back because your target will heal back up. And I also don't see how Heat Loss is so great for endurance restoration. It restores 1/3 of my blue bar (if that), and then is down approximately forever and a day. It's a nice shot in the arm when it's available, but it doesn't come up often enough to make a difference. Again, once you I add Ageless and Agility into the mix, the issues go away. I was able to roll across RWZ much the same way I did with a scrapper, barely pausing for anything, not watching extra pulls and even not bothering with confusing (though not paying attention did get me mezzed a couple times because I did not specifically focus on the mesmerists/mentalists). But without Incarnates? I can't see how this character could take on anything above EB. It can certainly put a dent into a hard target, but it can't sustain the necessary attack rate long enough to finish the job.
