  1. "Perma" lightform doesn't stop the crash though? If I pop lightform before it expires, I still get a 50% health/endurance drop when the original cast times out.
  2. I'm curious about this since Ill/Cold supposedly outclasses Ill/Rad, but it wasn't exactly my impression. I worked up a build using my own slotting strategy for Illusion, using Bommie's slotting strategy for Cold and using Psi Mastery for Epic. I tested it on my private server vs. a pylon and standard Rikti spawns and found that: - It is very dependent on having access to Incarnate powers - at least Agility and Ageless. Without those, my PA was nowhere near perma, and I found myself running low on Endurance (/Rad covers these bases with AM). - I also missed having a self-heal. My damage output felt like it was higher both with and without incarnates, but without Ageless, I had no staying power at all - Heat Loss was not up nearly enough and didn't provide me with enough End to keep me going. And with PA being not quite perma and not being able to compensate for being hit with a self-heal, I also felt a quite bit more fragile. Sure, it was nice not to worry about anchors for debuffs, but I'm not sure I'm completely sold on the idea of Ill/Cold. Then again I've never played it before.
  3. Alpha - agility radial. Helps out with recharge and recovery, and Ill/rad needs both. Judgment - ion radial. Ranged, 40 targets, mag 4 hold chance. Interface - degenerative flawless, pairs well with lingering radiation to wreck pylons, GMs and AVs. Destiny - ageless core epiphany, say goodbye to endurance issues forever. Hybrid - control or assault. Lore - whatever you want
  4. If you are powerleveling - at 47 (to get to 50 faster) or at 50 (to get to Vet level 3 and craft your first level shift). If you are leveling up normally, then during the "slump levels" of your AT. This depends on the AT, natch.
  5. Not a "plz nerf" post, just an observation. All incarnate slots except Lore help shore up weaknesses in a character. Lore pets however provide ridiculous DPS, which seems a bit strange. To be handily outDPSed by a pet (while not being a pet class) is a bit unusual to say the least.
  6. According to Pine's, Weave provides better defense number than Maneuvers. Aside from wasting the power pick on Kick, does Fighting give Sentinels better defenses?
  7. How does this build survive the fire farm? I whipped it up on Justin, and lasted all of maybe ten seconds before getting wiped out. I could not kill or debuff quickly enough to make a difference in the incoming damage.
  8. Right, so I've been very much unsuccessful devising a slotting strategy for my Elec/WP Sentinel. The characters does well enough in the open world, but crumbles very quickly against massed attacks (i.e. fire farm). Does anyone have a slotting strategy for WP that would allow me to cap defenses and resists? Thanks in advance.
  9. I know they are all ranged, but still: Which corruptor primary does best staying at range as opposed to standing in middle of an enemy pack for maximum DPS? I hate having to close in for PBAoEs. I would rather stay at a distance and blast, and only resort to close ranged attacks if swarmed.
  10. Apologies if this is a dumb question, but. My ideal playstyle is staying at range and blasting while maintaining survivability, and meleeing only when enemies get close. Now, I know I should just go play a Sentinel, but I'm curious about what PB can offer in this regard. Specifically, I would like to blast while in human form, which seems not a favorite approach - people seem to prefer using the human form as a melee/close range fighter. Do human-form blasts really lack so much punch that Nova is always preferable for this playstyle?
  11. I used to obsess over names, wondering whether the ones I picked were good enough. These days I take the One-Punch Man approach. That show is pretty much City of Heroes: The Anime. There is a crapton of costumed heroes with names and costumes ranging from cool and badass to generic to downright goofy. As long as you have some semblance of a theme and a schtick, it works.
  12. Thanks a lot. Looking forward to the video.
  13. Thanks for the build. In another thread, you mentioned that you took down a pylon with it. Did you use incarnates, and if so, which ones? What was your strategy?
  14. Is there any functional difference between Electrical and Moo masteries?
  15. With or without incarnate abilities (except pets). And if it is possible, would you mind posting a build?
  16. Much to my own surprise I soloed Rikti Pylons on two different characters. However it was on Justin so it doesn't really count. First character: Rad/Bio Scrapper from this post: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,3733.msg32311.html#msg32311. No incarnates at all and I didn't time it well, but it took somewhere around 10 minutes. Considering that I am averse to clicky powersets, am old, drunk and never played Rad Melee or Bio Armor or ANY melee character EVER (other than a tank that never got out of his teens back in the day), this should tell you something about how capable this character is. My biggest problem was running out of Endurance a couple times, which did bugger all in the greater scheme of things - some toggles turned off, I refilled the blue bar, I turned the toggles back on. Also the spaceship came by and blasted me a couple times, and did bugger all too. Oh, and during the last fight I also pulled a level 52 spawn of Rikti that were standing nearby because I didn't feel that they should be standing around while I'm destroying their pylon. They died. Jesus H. Christ on rollerskates. I shudder to think what would happen if I slotted his incarnates. Someone tell me why anyone should play anything but a scrapper. Second character: Electric/WP/Electric Sentinel with full T4 incarnates: Hybrid Assault Radial Embodiment (double hit chance), Storm Elemental Core Superior Ally (summons 2x ball lightning pets), Destiny Rebirth Radial Epiphany (big heal), Ion Radial Final Judgment (big chained lightning AoE), Reactive Total Core Conversion (Chance for resistance debuff), Alpha Cardiac Core Paragon (reduce endurance cost, + range, + damage resist). Also summoned the red wisp for damage boost, which I don't think is a disqualifier. First time I soloed the pylon I did not use the pets, and after I sharpened up my rotation some, it took a little over 10 minutes (I think), because I'm drunk and forgot to time it proper. Second time I summoned the pets and that took things in a whole new direction because I killed the pylon in about 2 minutes. I couldn't believe it either. Does it count with incarnate pets? Anyway, I went to another pylon and ground it down to 1/3 HP in about one minute in a half, but the GOD DAMN SPACESHIP came and blasted first the pets and then me, and I died, and it was all very sad and sudden. I didn't try again because the cooldown on the incarnate pets is what, 15 minutes and it's late and I'm tired. #### off, spaceship. I'm going to try again tomorrow, and I'm actually very happy with this because this Sentinel is the Justin version of my main; and while getting him to this power level without cheats will be a long road (so long in fact the servers might shut down before I get there), the fact that at least theoretically this is possible gives me a nice goal to work towards.
  17. Would you care to post a full build?
  18. I was on Virtue until about what, a year before shutdown? Anyway, my main's name was Extor Prime back then and still is. Doubt I'll see anyone I ever had known, but what the hell.
  19. Thanks, gents. When was the fly speed change made?
  20. Sorry if this isn't the right board, but I can't find anywhere else appropriate to post this. On another board I noticed a comment alleging that Fly power flies at maximum speed regardless of enhancements. This seems weird, it certainly didn't used to be like that "back in the day". If this is true however, what should be slotted in the default slot of Fly now?
  21. I want to say a huge thanks to everyone who made it possible. You guys are saints of gaming, I swear - not only you resurrected CoX, but you are still bugfixing and developing it. I bought three games shortly before getting on Homecoming last week, said to myself "eh, I'll just check it out" - I haven't played anything else since. What you are doing is a herculean task indeed, so thanks again from the bottom of my heart. You brought back some fond memories from a simpler and happier time. "The feelz are realz". Cheers.
  22. Of all Sentinels I rolled on Justin, I'm enjoying Electric the most (as evident by my thread about it). For secondary, WP is nice, sturdy and simple.
  23. That's my impression as well. It's a bit of free DPS that mops up and provides extra annoyance to the targets. Not amazing by any stretch of imagination, but helpful.
  24. Right, my first topic on Homecoming forums, might as well make it a positive one. Never rolled an Electric anything before, decided to roll an Electric/WP Sentinel on Justin amongst the heap of other test characters I made there. And I do think I'm in love with this combination, but particularly with the primary: - It has a built-in control mechanic that works on anything short of an AV/GM or a Rikti pylon - Foe -End. Can't hit me if you are too tired! - It is low-annoyance (no knockback, no overly loud pew-pew noises). - It has a ranged nuke! Which means it can be worked into a ranged DPS rotation without having to fly down to the ground and insert myself into the middle of a spawn. - It has a surprisingly helpful pet. - Tesla Cage is delightful. - It does extra damage vs. robots. Quick-and-dirty testing against L54 Rikti spawns yielded excellent results (that is, unless I really don't pay attention, they all go down nicely, though an application of Strength of Will may be necessary to eat the alpha strike from the group). I also had my way with the Heavy Assault Suits (elite bosses) that gave trouble to all of my other test sentinels except Rad/. Now I just need to find a fitting Epic pool to complete the build. Electric epic seems good, as well as Darkness or Soul Mastery (mostly for Darkest Night). Any suggestions here? But yes. I think I like Electric primary very much. Hope I can use customization to make it look like "somewhat generic energy blasting" because that's kind of my thing.
  25. In every test I have tried, it produced a rather pathetic amount of healing (like 40-50HP). Starting to think it's not particularly worth the bother, myself.
