Happened today (08/23). My Map bind (M) and my Jump bind (Rshift) became unbound all on their own after zone transitions. I can rebind them, but the binds don't "stick" after zone transitions. Don't seem to have issues with any other binds (at least not that I noticed). Restarting the client did not help. Using the 64-bit version. Thanks for the support so far, Devs. You'll nail them all sooner or later.

Noticed this last night. It is impossible to bind anything to RShift - if you do it in the keybinds menu and press RShift to bind it to an action, the menu shows that you bound the action to LShift. The action is then activated whether you press LShift or RShift. If you try to bind via a slash command (i.e. /bind RShift "jump") the bind does not work. You can bind to shift (/bind shift "jump") and then both left and right shifts activate the action. You can also explicitly bind to LShift (/bind LShift "jump") and then only the LShift activates the action. However, there is no longer a way to explicitly use RShift as a separate hotkey or modifier.

How to save the same GUI setup on different machines
Extor Prime replied to Jacktar's topic in General Discussion
And don't forget that you can also use wdw_save_file and wdw_load_file to save and load window and bar positions under different names, in case you want the GUI to look different for different characters. I use it to toggle between bar positions in fullscreen and windowed modes. -
For single target: Vanguard core. Can't argue with -500% Regen which the big robot throws out constantly. For AoE/farming: BanPan radial. The boss will die, but the LT is untouchable and will keep buffing you and throwing out a rain AoE which adds up nicely. And if you keep the boss alive, he throws out a big AoE cone (I think) all the time too.

Human-form PB: my single target DPS is awful
Extor Prime replied to Extor Prime's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
OK, I definitely could work in some damage procs into the build and an Achilles Heel here and there as well. What are your thoughts on using the Gleaming Bolt as an additional Achilles Heel carrier? I don't think I can find many slots for it, but as a one-slotted power specifically for AH proc it could work. Or would it cause effective DPS loss? -
Human-form PB: my single target DPS is awful
Extor Prime replied to Extor Prime's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
I don't care about bragging rights, I want some respectable single-target performance. The pylons are a good test of whether you can or can not hit 101 effective DPS, which is in most cases enough to grind down an AV (albeit slowly). I read this forum and it's PB this and PB that, and I just want to know if it can be anything other than a plug for a hole on the team (which, let's face it, almost requires a triform). Sure, it can send a standard spawn packing, and look pretty good doing it, but with incarnates everyone can send a standard spawn packing. Now I won't lie, I'm completely enamored with the concept and the LOOK of a human-only PB (to the point that I fear that if I actually squeeze out proper performance from it, I'll abandon my VERY good controller main). But at my first go, the performance wasn't there at all. I compared the build I made to the ones from the forum, and everything lines up pretty well; again I won't lie, I haven't ever seriously played a PB, not even back on Live, so my immediate assumption is that I'm doing it wrong and screwing up the attack chain. I'll certainly give sorcery a look if it helps with ST damage. Does Enflame remain helpful in general situations of single hard target takedowns, or is it just a crutch for the pylon runs? -
So I rolled, IOd and incarnated a human-only PB on Justin, and I find that at the very least my single-target DPS is on an underwhelming side. My build is below; I have permahasten, permalightform and all the usual stuff. Picked musculature core, degenerative core, barrier core, assault core and ionic core for incarnates. And... I couldn't even put a dent into a pylon, which means I cannot even achieve 101 DPS. What should my ST rotation be? Is this even a realistic goal? I "macro" mine to be used together with whatever big attack I use for the alpha strike. Autohotkey is magical. And in course of normal attack rotations, it's become a second nature to hit BU as soon as I see it come off cooldown.

Assault core for me.

Simplest way: just level. By VL50 you will have enough of everything to craft six T4s. Solo way to supplement leveling: Heather Townsend's arc via Ouro over... And over... And over... And over again. One merit per run plus a crafting component which can be upgraded/downgraded/sidegraded. Gets boring but does the job. Fastest way: incarnate trials with a competent leader. A well-done trial positively showers you in components and merits. I crafted a T4 in one evening by just glumming on to a couple runs in a couple hours. Of course the guy leading them was super-competent and the groups gelled very well together.

Banished Pantheon Radial is a farmer's friend indeed. It's just about the only Radial Lore worth taking.
-
If you take Storm, do yourself a favor and get a primary that has an AoE immobilize. Tornadoes and Storms induce "run away" response in everything short of GMs (even AVs run like scared little girls), which makes for annoyance and DPS loss.

Illusion/Cold/Mace Controller T4 Agility Core Paragon Alpha T4 Degenerative Core Flawless Interface T4 Assault Core Embodiment Hybrid T4 Clarion Core Epiphany (not used) / T3 Ageless Total Core Invocation (used in 2 attempts and didn't make much difference) T4 Ion Core Final Judgment (slotted but not used) T4 Longbow Core Superior Ally (slotted but not used) No inspirations, temp powers or accolades. 5 attempts made. Timer started when I hit Assault incarnate, followed by an approach from outside of pylon's range/LOS (3-5 seconds). - 2 failed: one-shotted by the dropship once and screwed up and aborted another time. - 1:21 (601 DPS) - 1:47 (486 DPS) - 1:19 (613 DPS) Recorded the 1:47 attempt, but didn't turn the recorder off afterwards and ended up with a mclargehuge file. Will post later after I edit it or will record another attempt. Every attempt started with PA-Sleet-Benumb-Phantasm-Summon Toxic Tarantula-Heat Loss, followed by ST attack chain Blind-Spectral Wounds-Poison Blast-Infrigidate; Sleet, Benumb and PA were refreshed as they expired. In the two exceptional attempts, the Phantasm and the Tarantula managed to stay alive longer than they usually do (perhaps because I kept a better eye on Benumb). Build below. All procs and global bonus IOs are attuned, and all other IOs are +5 whether they need to be or not (I have too much INF but can't buy coke with it, so I buy boosters instead). Perma: Hasten, PA, Sleet and Benumb. Capped: Ranged Defense, S/L/Energy defenses. Pretty decent resists all around, but a psi/mez hole wide enough to drive a truck through (hence Clarion Destiny). The build does not work AT ALL without the Agility Core Incarnate as it loses the defense caps and the perma-powers. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1555;692;1384;HEX;| |78DA6D946D4F527118C6FF070E2120A102E213A9F8982872D2EA655BF890A59B9B6| |F2B637854D6090870AB977D82B6CAD5BBEA452ADAFA0E7D8DEA2BF8DCABB646375C| |97421B6C87DFCDFD7CAE3FE72CBD9869FE36FFEA8ED25A1256B250584D6433C57CD| |6B2CCBC73259536332953553E4EB9066AB18BB4D882656D15D2D9CC85A3B72EE7EE| |D6FA7A2C91B5D65667B2CFD2996451F2947B392B652B39D35CF356CDB9F4C666319| |DD9F0E09755F9E9ABDA8B6672CDCC1736D3B99ED95C3A15AB6BBD944C99F255289A| |F9971DB25A54AE8F9AE2A7EC50E376A50C5DD9266C600CD427C93878C5009F7A2F6| |B35F55D7C7E8995B46AEC9340635F8D7D9B6651D73407BAE7C905B0F91E1811DDEC| |D5E2B2B25796345CCA92590EF4538E2066684E485CF139BB54D597913C177D2EE67| |D1678B88BE721665C7D04B63C2657C1B6276412B4CB002F76D1BD2131C2BA0ADCC0| |FD04A6D1BF3D4E1AA02E353ED4D87CDCA1E3016A3AFEAA6A8F2FE26EC54E7AEB316| |6759D90E760CF19990073726F7EF475F8DDE87BCD4336935EB0EF2AE9035DB25390| |3B057FA15FDF0FB0FF27E8919C10B50B3167476A3AA95DE70EEEA17F97DC03074AE| |43E79003E977DBB516BEBE6F90C46FF67ABCC0C632F2D4CAD0603E0AEA097B37BA9| |D1F02949AD86A9D108351BF90DE6657684FA466E3236055E9F266F93B7C082D40C5| |5FFB565DBD06BF8C6DE92DBE03B39B451F61DDDD3112B81E3FBE401F915DC969A28| |CF2D7A046D268EC913F2149C3C23CFC10F521BE3BC183598E4BD1BD4C2A00606355| |0ED4AC5798E716ADAA35F3EAB4AF12CC2355F79AC3E3E8178BC81CF68E09B6AE09B| |AEF8F80C2B3BF65A6C90B7AC5FBE279436089FAB454AB8D7A15BE2ECA30D207E5CF| |369DA7D3146E4DD7108BD8EEAF347917F529FFF9ECFFF1B5BF5BDF247B432102BEF| |456AF65CA86677066A765BB06697FC35FB1FCAF7DD95| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|

Illusion pairs well with some secondaries and doesn't play well at all with others. It's a very specific powerset and yes, it is godawful until you get PA. That's the story with everything in CoH though, some powersets complement each other so marvelously that you create proper Supermen, and others don't go together at all. (And then there are scrappers). And illusion and FF don't work together at all. I would honestly leave Illusion alone for the most part, aside from maybe ditching the healback mechanic. A well built and played Illusion controller can achieve sub-2min kill time on a pylon or "hold" (for all intents and purposes) any AV or GM. Besides rearranging powers, there is no room for buffs, I think. FF on the other hand... Yeah... That could use help.

Wait, out of set conversion can bump up rarity, at least from uncommon to rare. That's pretty much the basis of modern marketeering...

Valkyrie, Battle Maiden, and Warrior Earth

is it really as good as evereybody says it is
Extor Prime replied to gamermikefx's topic in General Discussion
As a former player, I find it at the very least comfy. I have at least three games that I bought close to when HC went public, and I haven't touched them because I'm too busy reliving the early 2000s. -
Extor's Emotes Popmenu - express yourself!
Extor Prime replied to Extor Prime's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
Cool, thank you. I'll let it be for a couple days in case people come up with more missed stuff and then amend and reupload the menu. -
I love using emotes, but can't always be arsed to type out /em this and /em that; plus I can't ever remember what is a built-in emote and what will result in white text. So I made this popmenu. It has most if not all built-in emotes; I'm sure I've missed some but hopefully not too many. There are two sections: one for the quick access to most frequently used emotes (and I do realize that it may be a bit bloated, so feel free to pare it down or edit it to whatever you feel is appropriate for you); the other is all emotes listed alphabetically, in categories. I tried to keep menu lengths manageable (and at the same time not get into the weeds with too many nested menus). This is what it looks like: Use it by placing the universalemotes.mnu file under your <CoH Install>\data\texts\English\menus directory; launch the game, and create a new bind: /bind <key of your choice> "popmenu UniversalEmotes" I also recommend creating a second bind: /bind <another key of your choice> "emote none" This allows you to cleanly stop a looping emote animation and return to neutral stance without having to move or do something else to break the animation loop. Let me know if I missed something that should be included in the popmenu. Download: universalemotes.mnu

Did they ever fix or look at this issue?
Extor Prime replied to Mansome's topic in General Discussion
"Mogs me for sure." -
My first ever character on Live was an En/En/En blaster. Playing him was a horrid exercise in frustration, but I got him to 50 out of sheer stubbornness. And never played him again. As in ever. I gather things changed a bit since. What can an En/En do these days? Can it solo? Can it crack hard targets or do anything exceptional?

Bare feet look so awful in CoH it's practically always better to pick a shoe option.
