  1. The walls are not there to keep anything out. They are there to keep us IN. That's why zones do not border each other. The rest of the city is a normal place without living WMDs turning the world inside-out every five minutes. If the walls fall and we are unleashed upon the world, the Rikti invasion will seem like a minor inconvenience.
  2. Thank you very much. You are a good deal better at building characters than I am.
  3. I would definitely take hover/fly/AB. And I tend to stay at level 50 and dislike exemping. As far as leveling goes, I will probably just PL him using my farmbrute alt. And yes, "greatest American hero" typage is about the size of it. Thank you for being helpful. I can build my own ranged characters (having played ranged since back on live) but melee, especially the newer stuff like StJ, throws me for a loop entirely. Do you think that Invulnerability would be a better secondary pick as far as getting to the caps goes?
  4. I like the idea of stj/wp, do you have an example build? Any powers that are must have or should be skipped? Also, how well does stj do in the air? Anything that would require me to land?
  5. I have a fully IO'd Rad/Bio scrapper. No incarnates yet. He's a ground pounder though. Maybe I'll tweak the build and redo him as a flier. Doesn't Irradiated Ground require you to be on/near ground though?
  6. I want to have another go at creating a melee character. I tried with Rad/Bio, and found it too plodding and uninspired for my tastes. What I want: - "Unarmed combat" primary powerset. So no weapons of any kind and no claws. And it has to work with a flying character. I'm thinking either StJ or SS (though the rage crash of SS doesn't excite me at all). - Solo-friendly. Doesn't necessarily have to be a super-duper AoE farmer, but must be able to take down a pylon or an AV on its own, and do decently well in AoE scenarios. - Must be fly- and hover-friendly, so definitely no powers that only work on the ground. What sets would fit this picture?
  7. Thanks everyone for the missing emotes, I will work to update the menu in the next couple days.
  8. Aw man... That's sad. He was truly one of the superstars. Where is his memorial? Hope he's doing the phone call emote...
  9. A level 50 Illusion controller without perma-PA should re-evaluate his life choices. It doesn't matter if you use incarnate or not to get there, but if by hook or by crook you don't have perma-PA at 50, you got some work to do.
  10. Thank you! No travel powers? Also, if you have Kick, would it make sense to put the Force Feedback chance for recharge IO in it?
  11. Can you share a build perhaps? I want to get into crabbing but don't know where to start.
  12. Zero. You can multibox and PL your own characters. It takes between 2 and 4 hours to get a Spines/Fire brute up to speed, and then it's all gravy from there.
  13. If the devs ban everyone who buys Inf for real money, who is going to buy my overpriced enhancements from the market with gobs of disposable inf?..
  14. I absolutely hate to see build posts twisting in the wind, because god knows it's been done to me more than a few times. I'm too drunk to analyze your build right now (for which I'm sorry, but I am very rarely sober in the evenings); nevertheless, here's what I've put together on Justin/Pineapple. I was intrigued by /Dark myself, particularly the way it works (or doesn't) with Ill/; I also asked myself "what does /Cold have that /Dark doesn't, because it would be a lot more thematic to be an Ill/Dark than an Ill/Cold?". Fully incarnated (natch), as Ill/Dark/Ice I could not attain the same performance as Ill/Cold/Ice (and thank god for that, because I don't think I could stand another reroll). It's not a dog of a build for certain, it just doesn't have Ill/Cold's sheer ability to stack -Res and maintain it without breaking a sweat. It can solo a pylon, but compared to what I'm used to it's painfully slow. It can also send a L54 spawn packing easily, and is obscenely tanky between Fade and the fact that you can include a PBAoE self-heal in a regular attack chain if you so wish. On the other hand, Fluffy made the Phantasm, which I previously considered utterly daft, seem like Rhodes Scholar, because it got itself into harm's way all the time and quickly bought it. I slotted it with Basilisk's Gaze for a cheap +Recharge, but perhaps there's a better way. It is also damn near unworkable without Ageless Destiny, at least for someone who is used to Heat Loss - Soul Absorption is a pale shadow of Heat Loss, especially in a "single hard target" situation. You'll notice that I am not taking Superior Invis because Shadow Fall + Stealth IO in Sprint = full invis for PvE purposes. Also, Afterburner might not be your cup of tea, but I am a flier and I love flying fast, so I always take it; you can certainly trade it in for Superior Invis or Group Invis that will happily mule the LOTG for you. One thing I can see right off the bat in your build is YUGE regeneration which is of no use to you (you have a very quick-recharging self heal). You probably could go without it and not lose much survivability. Regardless, I'm sure that comparing your build and mine you can distill something worthwhile as far as optimization goes... and if you want to keep this conversation going, I'll try to respond when I am less inebriated next time. Here is my build. Best of luck. Hero Plan by Hero Hero Designer 2.23 https://github.com/ImaginaryDevelopment/imaginary-hero-designer Click this DataLink to open the build! 15. You can't set supersampling through NVidia control panel? Should be able to... Experience is a bloated BS software anyway, I stopped using it since they started to require a login. Nosey bastards.
  16. Depends on who you ask. But regardless, core is the way to go.
  17. The only correct answer to this question is: anytime and without a warning. I wish the HC team all the luck in the world, but that does not change the fact that legally speaking we are playing on stolen code that belongs to NCSoft. So play like today is the last day.
  18. At least it's not the Naked Positron from the comics.
  19. This almost makes me play redside. Almost.
  20. El Bumpo in el rumpo. DAE see this? I still haven't been able to complete the last mission of the ITF because of this crash. Very annoying.
  21. Three cheers for the dev team! Illusion's back in business!
