Not remotely patient 🙂 I usually have a 50 to rig up about once a week. But I have a couple bil influence on various characters, so I usually just blow about 500 mil at a time on winter packs, and make a bit of profit on the stuff I don't need and a bunch of the extras. usually I can recoup my expenses even after I equip the character
  2. right, so the reason that those procs NEVER seem to activate would be...?
  3. @Bopper: From what I understand, it's 30% chance to proc ONCE every 10 seconds. Once, divided by (I believe) by the target cap of the power. In a 5 person cone, That means you will average an extra 12 points or so per target.....low, but on a low or no damage cone it is probably worth it. Once in a 16 person spawn means an average damage bonus of about 5-6 points per target... totally not worth a slot. self buffs, though... although the proc chances are still divided, they are still better than a single target (fast) attack. and something like a heal going off once every 20 seconds for 12% of your HP that you do NOT have to click, makes it a valuable addition to your build. Someone is welcome to correct me if they think I am wrong, but if you want to test it, slot a chance for immob and take it into a fight... you will occasionally get one or maybe two targets that get hit by it, but it is a far stretch from a valuable or even noticeable addition to any fight.
  4. I agree. I love ice, and hibernate is one of the reasons. It is just as amazing when soloing an LRSF as it is when soloing an ITF.
  5. wait, do you think they didn't give stalkers mace because they thought it would step on bane's toes? Ugh. That would suck. Banes aren't any more stalkers than /nin scrappers are.

Once I get finished buying all the winter enhancements and give it a good solo ITF test or three I will probably be happy to tell you how it does.
  7. @r0y: I would like to point out that the new power transfer chance to heal self, absolutely kicks butt when slotted into both ice and EA's Energy Drain. To the point where I sometimes just.... skip EA's heal altogether. (Not ice though! It's perma double HP!) although I don't do that often, since it's good for emergency spikes while the ED heal just keeps up easily with casual dps penetration.
  8. The speed force, Man... Dark flash uses lightning bolts more often than punches. Oh, you don't want to be inspired, you want BUILDS. I get it.
  9. nope, I already have 5 nature toons...2 masterminds, 2 defenders, and a controller, but I might try that out sometime.
  10. Rad ihas resistance to pretty much EVERYTHING, electric can cap psi and cold better but has zero toxic, but starts out with slightly higher resists. Electric has a more powerful tier 9 that crashes hard, rad has a tier 9 that crashes very very softly but is not quite god mode. Electric gives 20% -recharge, rad gives between 12.5% and 25% based on how many enemies are nearby. Electric's status protection works better on the ground, rads is slightly better overall (but not much) Electric has an end drain recovery attack, rad has a 'hurt everything and heal nearby teammates' attack. Electric has a damage aura and emergency heal, radiation has an emergency heal that comes with -regen and an emergency barrier They are very similar, but can wind up building quite differently. Electric armor tends to eventually make enemies whiff, while radiation is ever so slightly more unkillable, but they are both very close thematically.
  11. resist sets are, in general, much more powerful than defense sets, because they are designed that way, and also because few enemies have -resist, while EVERYONE has -defense. Also, it is easier to add meaningful defense with set IO's than it is to add meaningful resist to a defense set. Purple patch also means that enemies above you have a much higher chance to hit than they gain damage, which means against +4's defense cap has a much more difficult time than 90% resists. That being said, though, I too tend to prefer defense sets.
  12. GREMLIN STYLE KUNG FU! My SCHOOL is stronger than YOUR school! Let us Fight! (mouth keeps moving for 5 seconds)
  13. well, she has a point. The fury mechanic is sorta designed to take advantage of multiple enemies, and while I can certainly SEE a brute only using one AOE and focussing on ST attacks, I'd rather play a stalker or scrapper who specializes in ST than a brute who is SO much stronger in AOE than both but cannot approach their ST damage. When Hulk Smashes he never just beats up one bad guy... if there's only one he also beats up cars, telephone poles, walls, innocent bystanders...

honestly, no clue. I haven't played ice armor on a scrapper. I know that stalkers desperately NEED bastion to avoid pushing up daisies, and they NEED to kill off the aggro that put them there before it wears off... but tankers and brutes are vastly tougher.... just the momentary downtime is more than enough to let them smash whatever put them there.
  15. cross punch, spring attack, mu lightning ball and cages, and dragon's tail. a complete aoe attack chain. doesn't look much like MA anymore 😛

meh, it's not vulnerable to cascading resist failure, or cascading debuff failure. Or even cascading heal failure, so it's in a pretty good spot 🙂

Sure. a little heads up about using it though. Ice looks, on the surface, to be a typed defense set. But it really isn't... It's part typed, part resist, craptons of heal, craptons of +hp, and the most important part- some of the best -recharge and -damage around. All of it's tools are meant to be used, with nothing 'useless'. Even Hibernate is crashless, you lose aggro but with CE you immediately pick it back up again and you are usually only IN hibernate for a few seconds in order to get rid of any debuffs and recharge your HUGE hp bar. With the new IO's, energy absorption, with your near-cap HP, is a darned fine heal as well. Once you get incarnates, double-stacking both it and hoarfrost are no problem, and you slam face-first into the HP cap... which is not really a problem. Please note that this is the 'el cheapo' version. I have a MUCH more expensive version that uses hasten instead of hibernate, slightly lower defenses and higher resists, and has triple the recharge reduction, but I am still in the process of getting it built so I cannot vouch for it's abilities yet. I may share it later.
  18. It's a very good one because you can slot FF into it? I dunno. a hundred points of damage at the high end is pretty mediocre, but it is really good for holding aggro. Still, stone melee's best aoe is cross punch. Or a pocket Blaster.

I thought the placate didn't cause an auto-crit... because it doesn't create a hide condition, it just loses and prevents aggro for a moment. Unless the new stalker rules on crit against helpless opponents counts?
  20. MY decision is guided by procs... which is more important. an extra heal? (mu) or an extra FF +recharge? (mace). The knockback is not worth converting, although the drawing animation is irritating it's often worth juggling in a fight for the extra recharge. Both of them proc monster well, and if you cap damage as well, they are an incredibly brutal way to 'introduce yourself' to a hard target.
  21. a damage proc is worth slotting into crippling axe and claw, and if you get cross punch it's worth frankenslotting into that. I wouldn't bother with Dragon's Tail though... with the proc changes on AOE's it just doesn't seem to be worth it anymore. On Dragon's tail I will usually go with an FF +recharge and obliteration skipping the proc. I actually wound up skipping claw though... It's juts too darned slow on a team, and crane kick is much faster, does almost as much damage, and is perfect for frankenslotting.
  22. Like @Apparition, I have both a DP/MC and DP/Temporal Blaster. and weirdly enough, a Time/DP defender too... although I also like my DP/FA sentinel. DP/MC and DP/Time play very. very different... both are solid short-range blasters, but despite the same primary the similarities end there... But both are very very solidly tough... Dp is SWEET in melee range, and incredibly survivable and destructive, and actually pushes past fire/fire for Lut farm clear speeds 4/8 when I farm for vet levels. (The only reason I farm anymore) with similar incarnates. And the time/DP defender is just incredibly tough. It really does not play like any other defender and is really difficult to describe... maybe more like a scrapper with better range and great team buffs. Sentinel is closer, but better at taking AVs and is one of the few melee-range sentinels I have ever played. And she can survive in melee range just fine and dandy.

    Ice/Ice/?

Just be careful and stock purples when you are going to kill Mayonnaise and Mother Magpie. I remembered that too late. Malaise uses nothing but ranged and aoe psi attacks.
