Rad/ ? Worth It?

Uh, no, there are like 3 sets that have shorter recharge for tier 1/2, and 16 seconds for targeted AOE is very normal, few exceptions.  Can you highlight some sets besides fire that are faster?

e: in any case rad/rad is a very good combo, -def is a useful secondary effect and you can put Achilles' Heel proc pieces on most of stuff if you like.  My own rad/atomic blaster is one of most satisfying characters to play, good luck

Level 5 is not the greatest gauge at how the set will feel later on.  Yes the 20 seconds on Irradiate is long but it gets better later on.  /Atomic is a good to pair with it as well since it has potentially a lot of +recharge built in if you are in melee range but you don't get those until 16 and 20 at the earliest.

I don't like procs either but every time i make a build ppl just come at me like hell hounds for not having procs :P

Here is my build.

Its not cheap but it definitely does some great AOE and is pretty tanky.

Needs more energy resist.  SO I buy the temp power (Kinetic Dampener) from the p2w vendor...Its way down near the bottom of her inventory.

I used to use stealth and invis pool powers too until i noticed that their def buff is gone when you are in combat :/

A)  Thanks for quoting the long-ass build post, just to reply with 1 line... lol.

 

B)  Stealth (and invis?) lose ½ their defense when in combat.  This is generally true for all stealth powers.

 

C)  Instead of using Invis to be "fully" hidden, use stealth toggle + sprint with a stealth IO in it.  It will be 65' and good enough for MOST mobs that do not have +Perception (looking at you, nemesis snipers!)

A) Np :P
B) These pool powers lied to me, i trusted them and they betrayed me. :( Never again.

C) I just use the stealth IO in sprint and pick Super Speed. Standing next to mobs like stalkers laughing at guys that do the mistake to follow me because they don't know about this.

Even with a blasters you wanna do that. I mean soft cap Ranged defense + S/L. For a blapper i guess you want soft caped Melee + S/L.


Now you know someone who mixes Positional defense with Type defenses like my Tanktrollers :P
