Ankhammon Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Just wondering what the fandom thinks would be a good way for a fender/rupter to leverage this power to it's best. What combo would you choose and what about it would make you want an AR char? I can think of two that I would want to try Poison and TA. both of these have options to hold something in place while you ignite it for loads of damage. What you all think?
Psyonico Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 I've got it on my AR/TA corrupter, entangling arrow + ignite is a thing of beauty. You could also go the traps route, since traps has web grenade. What this team needs is more Defenders
Linea Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 (edited) Any immobilize. I would even go so far as to say that I wouldn't play AR without an immobilize. The immobilize can be primary or app, that doesn't matter so much, just so long as you can stack it enough to hold bosses in the burn patches. You might also want to look at immobilize procs. Edited February 2, 2022 by Linea AE 801 (link) is a variety of missions for fun and challenge, and is designed for a team of 5+ Incarnates. Just search '801' in AE. 801 Difficulty Varies: 801.0 Easy, ..., 801.2 Standard*, ..., 801.5 Moderate**, ..., 801.6 Hard***, ..., 801.7 Four Star****, ... 801.F Death. I may be AFK IRL, But CoH is my Forever Home.
Ankhammon Posted February 2, 2022 Author Posted February 2, 2022 yeah, good points. I've just always ignored AR since a friend of mine unloaded full auto from his blaster into my sonic defender and it tickled. 🙂
Yomo Kimyata Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 If only they would give it to tanks they would double the radius. Who run Bartertown?
Mr. Vee Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 AR cones hitting their one enemy for double the surface area? Allow me to be the first to call for a nerf of AR tanks!
DreadShinobi Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 I feel like AR might be at it's best playing alongside a gravity controller utilizing wormhole and fold space to continuously tightly clump mobs. If you had a friend that wanted to duo in such a way I would try that. 1 Currently on fire.
MTeague Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Ignite can still be decently useful on an AR / Martial blaster. Bosses can get shoved into a corner with Ki Push, and Ignited. A couple kicks to knock them down some, maybe a 2nd Ki Push. Admittedly, there's often better / safer ways to handle a boss for a blaster. But something about shoving them into a corner, setting them on fire, and keeping them there. I do of course, have the Winter chance for immob proc in it, though. Roster: MTeague's characters: The Good, The Bad, and The Gold
CaptainIcyHot Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 As an AR Blaster in the old days I found Air Superiority to work well with its high Mag Knockup. I would think you'd have to work pretty hard as a Defender to not have a hold or immobilize for Ignite.
Peacemoon Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 I use Char on my Rad/AR to keep bosses stuck in a radioactive flame patch of death. Slotted Lingering Radiation can help help too! Retired, October 2022. Fallout Engineer Rad/AR Defender || Peacemoon Empathy/Psi Defender || Svarteir Dark/Dark Controller Everlasting || UK Timezone
Chelsea Rorec Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 I have every AR/whatever Blaster in the game. The only power you need for Ignite is hover/fly.
Max Firepower Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 The Epic power Bonfire, with KB->KD, and then Ignite…. Hawt!
