Building a Jedi

Hi all!

I’m going to role play a Jedi hero with some buddies of mine, and I’d love to pick the communities brains on options for a Jedi hero!

First up: ARCHETYPE

My immediate thought is Scrapper. Jedi’s just feel like Scrappers to me. Stalkers could be an option, I just don’t care for hiding. Anyone feel that they should be a Brute or Tanker instead?

Second: KATANA OR DUAL BLADES

I understand that Jedi could use either (too bad they don’t have an option for this on Staff!) as many Jedi used different styles. In  your opinion though,  which set FEELS more like a Jedi based on their animations/powers?

Lastly: SECONDARY

This is where it gets spicy, since one could argue a lot of options.

Bio Armor and Rad Armor both have a ton of effects, but with the right colorization and minimal effects, they can definitely be pulled off as Force powers.

Stone Armor… love the set, but I feel that even with minimal effects it may stand out too much.

Energy Aura is a Scrapper favorite, and could just be “Force Energy.” I don’t particularly care for how one of the powers basically makes you invisible though, although it could be thematic for a Jedi.

Willpower and Super Reflexes both have minimal effects and can be very thematic of Jedi. How do either of these perform for endgame content? Willpower can be using the Force to push through, while we all know Jedi have great reflexes haha.

Ninjitsu is a lovely set… I just have one buddy who runs a Kat/Nin and another DB/Nin, so I’m just trying to not repeat.

All that being said: what are your thoughts? How would YOU make a Jedi hero? Also, I’m pumped for the Kenobi series coming at the end of May 😂

A friend of mine made his Jedi as a Psionic/Ninja Blaster. He used the Talsorian Vanguard Sword as his Ninjato, of course.

A Kat/SR or Kat/WP Scrapper would be perfect if only there were a Psionic Epic Power Pool for Scrappers.

Being constantly offended doesn't mean you're right, it means you're too narcissistic to tolerate opinions different than your own.

Agreed! The best option might be the Mu Patron for Zapp/Ball Lightning

Sounds fun, I kind of want one!

Blaster

Electric, energy or psychic blaster paired with ninja

Scrapper

Dual blades or katana depending on your preference, paired with energy or super reflexes

Controller

Mind or gravity control, secondary would be kind of a stretch for kin, time, emp, force field

Dominator

Too Sithy?  Mind or gravity with electric, energy or psi assault

I love all these. Energy Aura and SR are both front runners, probably with WP and Bio. All IO'd out endgame, which do you think is the strongest?

Electric/nin sentinel and go all force lightning all day. 🙂

I feel like a Jedi demands a little more of a bag of active tools than SR or WP offers. If going melee, my vote is DB/EA. I get what you mean with the invis power though. For what it's worth, this is a very powerful combo with many great builds already explored in the scrapper forum.

DB/EnA is actually one of the ways I'm leaning. The free recharge from EnA fits nicely. I'm guessing the "invis" power from Energy Aura drops once in combat? Not the stats I mean, but the invisibility part?

We all know the Invis aspect just means that you are not the Jedi they are looking for.

You Legend 😂

I’ve narrowed it down to Kat/Rad or Kat/EnA. Both seem very synergistic.

EnA can basically be “Force Shields”, has an invis and brings a heal (Force healing) which is nice.

Rad can be colored to look like Force Aura, and it’s 2 AOE’s that can act as Force “powers.” It’s T9 Meltdown is also kind of like Battlemind, if anyone is familiar with that power from SW lore.

It seems I am unable to find the thread I was remembering.

I did find the builds Linea posted, but they have Energy Cloak still.

This is one that I took from them, and just swapped out Energy Cloak for Weave.

I'm going to bow out of the conversation now though, as I don't want to cause any confusion.

earth/nin blaster.  a little consulary from swtor but hey, its that or kinetic melee/sr

I been screwing around with earth/nin for a few days.  Feels very jedi consular-like minus the footstomp.  dark consumption animation when

infiltration to mimic force speed

combat teleport to get in and out of melee quickly

i tried kinetic melee/sr scrapper.  torrent felt very force pushy, other attacks leaned on the Teras Kasi side of things

Hell and depending on what era of Star Wars was your favorite a Pistol/Martial blaster can work.  remember Mira, Disciple and Bao from KOTOR2?  Force speed, dual pistols and enough DEX to land hits and it was a flurry of blaster bolts.  [Burst of Speed], some melee, ki push
