CT doesn't do damage, iirc (so many names to remember here), and I do sometimes still end up with no bamfs to bamf and have to resort to primary attack powers like AS, heavy sigh.

 

If that's true about a Dom, then one could practically do nothing else, although that might be boring to play.  Maybe drop Soul Extraction between, maybe a Dom group hold or something.  I'll have to look into that.

It might seem boring....but you still have call hawk and vicious slash. I find it to be super fun. I absolutely love feral charge and between those three attacks you can have the FF proc the majority of the time. 

 

My ice/savage Dom pretty much scraps all the time and just relies on ice slick and artic air toggle to keep me safe. The chaos confuse brings is also very fun, but really it's all the feral charges I get to do (proc'd out of course).

Is that your Scrappy Dom of myth and legend?  I believe I grabbed that build and took it to 30th or so but got distracted and never got back to it.  I may have to go pick him back up and give him a fresh chance.

The stalker worked out just fine, but I wouldn't chasing that fun again from a different angle.

After reading this post, I dusted off my "Mister Hyde/Mister Werewolf" SM/Shield stalker and respecced into BAMF mode. Holy crap this is fun! Performs well in teams at +4/8, gonna try a few Ouro things solo to see where the diff ends up being comfy/challenging. 

 

My only complaint in taking TP/CT/Fold is I have a not so great single target chain... but oh well, it's an AOE buffet.

Yeah, I tend to be a kind of haphazard player (don't tell anyone!) but I've rarely eaten carpet on this guy; I even tanked a few times and in SBB.  Even though the AoEs aren't even like monster numbers, they sure are damn flashy numbers to pull out!  I generally avoid purples and super-overcharged-IOs at +5 and all that, so the build might be given more weight with such. 

 

I am curious how yours solos, as I generally PUG.

I've one of these (The Binman) but haven't played them in two years. Less Baumph (I prefer that spelling so I can cheat in Scrabble) and more bzzzzt with Mu for Ball Lightning and the snipe. Racing Ball Lightning with Savage Leap is immense fun. 

 

Also he predates whatever the hell they did to Haemorrhage.

I'm fighting with MIDS atm to update, so it won't open this build, oh well.  Trying to do as little as possible else other than BAMFing about is admittedly a stunt build.  I've just reworked the Dom build mentioned above and while it doesn't bamf as much, it does become a much more in your face play style than I might have gone for with a DOM - I'm generally using the BAMFs to show up in a group's face and then confuse with with Artic Air, an Ice Slick, some AoE, it's still fun to not have to run to every target.  Racing your Ball Lightning does sound like fun, and you can boast "I'm faster than lighting!"

Funnily enough I just did that one the other day, but not my Bamf-tatstic stalker.  I was playing an Ice Control/Savage Melee Dom that had some BAMF, but ultimately spent her time defending the core by dropping Ice Slick etc. around it.  Being such a catwalk-centric mission though, you're right, that would be great for a serious BAMF toon.  I keep pulling mine out for some fun - might even consider him my main, at least for now? - so I'll have to see if I can't find the time to get him on one of those too.

How to Pull with Combat Teleport:

 

1. Target center of adjacent mob ignoring the scrum and BAMF!

 

2. Fire AoE and Target a friendly who's back at the scrum while it animates.

 

3. BAMF! via target macro back to friendlies.

 

4. Profit.

Not precisely "pulling": A single BAMF macro works fine for melee; my characters with cone attacks have a second one (that doesn't require selecting a target) to followup with the ranged AoE attacks. Obviously I have to not make a terrible mistake in the direction I am facing when activating it.

Alright.  Interesting thing I just did on my latest toon.  I've been using BUTTON4 (mouse thumb button) for targeted combat teleport as my standard from the beginning.  Recently confirmed that one can combine a <shift> key with a mouse button for an alternate effect, so I started (effectively - in game CT is a macro and T is a bind) using this:

 


bind BUTTON4 powexec_location target Combat Teleport

bind LSHIFT+BUTTON4 powexec_location target Teleport

 

So, anything that is out of range for CT (Particularly Allies/Friendlies/NPC Contacts/Etc) gets the alternate keystroke.

 

I use the same pattern with MOUSECHORD for "cursor" targeted binds.  A variation from LSHIFT+LBUTTON but it seems to work for this toon.

I apologize if this was already mentioned but I didn't see it in my breif scroll through.  This keybind makes all the difference in the world:

 

/bind <whatever key you prefer> powexec_location target Combat Teleport

Super useful.

 

I don’t actually know them off the top of my head, but one can also make binds to teleport specific distances in specific directions. Like, back 20 ft, for example.

Thusly:

 

lshift+w "powexec_location forward:40 combat teleport"
lshift+a "powexec_location left:35 combat teleport"
lshift+s "powexec_location back:40 combat teleport"
lshift+d "powexec_location right:35 combat teleport"

 

Use as is for a bind file, preface with /bind to enter manually in game.

 

I *think* the numbers correspond in-game feet, but I am not 100% certain.

It's an interesting idea. I wonder if perhaps actually Dominators would be the best AT for such a set? Because a Melee AT doesn't really need more than 1 or 2 at most, and a Ranged AT doesn't really need it at all, but a Dominator could absolutely benefit from having it on many attacks.

With regard to it being a blast set, what I was more thinking was that it would be more of an animation than a "real teleport" - your character vanishes during the attack animation, and a copy of you appears next to the enemy to deliver the attack.  Perhaps this set's special ability would be a very brief period of intangibility during the attack animation, (imagine your character model doesn't move, but becomes completely invisible/untouchable as the animation plays out)...

I'd just like an alternate animation option for combat teleport that doesn't do an animation, thus keeping your existing body position and weapons drawn.  It could be a 'blink' animation that flashes a light/dark mini "poof" of smoke or light in your current and future location... but I don't like standing straight up and sticking out my arms and chest.

Speak for yourself!  The toon I built for this thread has four,m and I still feel frustrated when I have to sit still for a second or two waiting for one of them to recharge.
