I've always wanted to make an AR blaster, but have been discouraged from doing so due to its abysmal performance. Will the changes released today be enough to make it palatable?

I play what I find fun.  Performance is only a secondary concern, to me.  I have an AR/Invuln sentinel that is quite fun to play.  I think a lot has to do with what you are looking to get out of such a character, and adjusting your expectations accordingly.  If you already have it in the front of your mind that "AR sucks", then you're going to have a bad time...

I have wanted AR Devices (my theme pairing) to be good for....a very long time.  There are downsides.  S/L damge, meh mitigation.  Having to use KB->KD slot wasters.  Low damage compared to FIRE.  The last one applies to everyone.  When you think of big leagues doing hard content....when they buff damage on fire.  Wow.  Everyone has the same damage "cap"....but when your floor is at the level of everyone elses basketball hoop it gets ridiculous.

 

Still.  Theme.  All Ranged. Cones.  Strategy.  Thing i love.  I took my parked 41 AR Dev yesterday and 50d and T4'd alpha.  Working on accolades and some of the other incarnates today.  

 

The revised powers do a LOT to make this work.  It is definitely playable.  Is it your cup of coffee?  I will revise my build I am sure.  I just found out that Targeting drone has a opening BONUS +60% damage.  I never knew.  So, Snipe, LRM, or Full Auto hits like a dam truck.  I built for +damage.  Again, might revise slightly, but I sit at +70% damage stone cold with the +60% bringing my opening salvo to +130%.  Soooooo

That's my original character from live. It's amazingly OP, and thank hells they didn't nix Ignite. Ignite on flyers is hilarious and fun too

Mids says it has a 10-target cap on blasters  -- wrong?

My blaster is ar/ta and sent is ar/fire.  Latter is a "theme" toon.  Other is too I guess, but I love oil slick arrow then flame thrower and full auto.
