Hmm, that is really odd then. The screenshot you posted is of a really old version of that map which predates any work I have done on vidiotmaps. Looking at the update log from the previous maintainer of vidiotmaps, the map you have is at least older than May 2014 which is when the Park Stroller plaques and the prison break event were added to that map. I've checked the vidiotmaps pigg available via the modder and it is the current version, so I am at a complete loss to be honest.

 

The only thing I can suggest is a reinstall of vidiotmaps, either via CoH modder or by manually downloading the pigg from the CoH modder site and pasting it in the appropriate folder (installation instructions are available at the link I posted previously). Otherwise, there must be some older version of vidiotmaps on your machine that your CoH install is using.

Submit a support bundle via Tools please.  When prompted for your name, please use your Forum username.
You could also try installing the Corrupted Mod: https://cityofheroes.dev/mods/mod/190 And seeing if your client crashes.  That'll help narrow things down.

Hey there, @Michiyo. I just installed your mod installer, installed the mods I wanted but for some reason they have not done anything that I can tell. I have checked the path, the path to the Homecoming File is correct, I have checked the Data folder and there is nothing there either. I am going to try and delete the Data folder all together and see if perhaps that wasn't something, even though it's empty. Will update shortly.

 

Edit: So they look like they are going to the assets folder, is that right?

 

Second Edit: After deleting the Data folder (as the directions say) even though it was empty, that set the path correct. So my mistake...user error. Thanks for the mod installer, Michiyo.  🙂

So the data folder existing shouldn't matter at all, I have a data folder with various test files in place.  I wonder if it was an issue of the installer not adding the asset path to the launcher profiles or something.  And yes, as you discovered mods go in assets\mods.

I don't know, sounds like deleting the data folder was coincidence. I relaunched the Homecoming a few times as well, so who knows. It works now though, so no biggie on that. It might have helped had I restarted the PC possibly? In any case, all is well, thank you.

This is usually only true if it's a file that the OS has locked or opened yet an update wants to replace the file.  It's common for OS updates to do this, sometimes another application can get into this state when its own restart doesn't released a file its updater wants to change.

 

Restarting usually can't hurt.  There's also restarting everything else in a known state that can remove some weird glitches.

I have a tendency to lose my cursor when there is a lot going on on screen, especially during larger battles. The cursor mods is a huge help for me. Thank you!
