A PUG tale for Snarky

Made a new character. Yesterday's character didn't feel right. Respec'd at level 22, stripped of enhancements and moved to the far right alt page. 
Storm/Sonic corruptor. So far, I like. Only level 8, so time will tell. 

Did a DFB. We get to the Dr. Meinst section, and team leader simply says: 

 

So, for the nitpicky - Kicks and Grins is my character. I do not have fireball. Perhaps in the epic pools my character might get an option for fireball, but I doubt it. So, I was joking. But I did cooperate, as I respect the desire for badges. 

And, because my chat is organized in an odd fashion, the rewards go in a different pane/box than team/league chat. 
But, note the time stamp to help verify veracity. 

 

No pep talk. No prep talk. Dude just types in "badges" before heading straight towards Meinst and everyone cooperated. WE EVEN HAD AN MM ON OUR TEAM! 

Yes, I scream because I'm elated, surprised and really, couldn't care less about the badges. I'm marveling at the beauty of a pug playing as if they've been playing for many levels. Silly banter, and not one stale joke or pun from me. I'm just taking it all in, like an aroma of freshly baked bread. 

Anyway, before you pug again, you should look at this. No idea if any of them will take me up on my offer to 4*lgtf when we hit 50. Imagine, 2 tanks an MM and a useless storm sonic corruptor on a 4*LGTF. It could work, but it sure wouldn't be ideal. There was a blaster, too. Ice blaster, at that. 

And, well, anyone that knows anything, ice blasters are great for 4*LGTF.  But, I digress.

Playing on Everlasting by chance? The last three rounds of DFBs I've done have been similar were the leader simply states it's a badge run, and everyone knew what to do.

 

SBB has been like that for me as well with people knowing all the roles.

I have been on many a DFB. Almost always 4 on any alt for the buffs.  They tend to go smooth.  Then the bucket of ice water to the face that is Positron One…

what the hell,,,,?  i googled trying to find vampire bucket challenge.  no luck, obvs.  then ice bucket challenge.  most are just dumping a bucket on themselves, yawn.  this captured how i feel when another posi goes sideways and nothing i can do.   kind of like this thread lol.

The 2 weeks before mapserve event, I ran on 4 DFB's with the same toon trying to get the first badge.  All four failed then a 5th got it with the same "badges?" style group and yes an mm too.

 

Fail 1:  Yep an mm pet.

Fail 2:  "Sorry I didnt know Sands of Mu was aoe".

Fail 3:  Scrapper just didnt listen/pay attention nor responded at all during the entire run.

Fail 4:  AoE from a controller that I forget.  This was the worst run because(and I feel sorry for the others wanting the lost badge), someone staff of nemesis KB'd a lost in the tunnel into the wall that wouldn't come out after waiting for a long time.  We had to run it again (the 5th) and the controller... didnt join us. 

 

 

As for Posi 1.   I've been utterly shocked over the last few weeks that those have run rather smoothely.  Only one had last mish door/door area a delinquent dilettante but the rest of the group knew what they were doing and we nailed it with no one wiping then and the simul's dropped fast too.

Honestly the Posi 1 usually goes well.  When we have “problem teammates” i can almost always tell. I save inspiration and have temps that solve all but the most ridiculous situations.  Posting on these crazy times is just locker room banter to blow off steam.

I've -never- had it come about as a pattern of "usually goes well".   Never.  Its more not so well to fails vs pretty goods.

In honor of the thread, I ran in a pos1 today.

 

Leader set to +1 to start, even though we only had a nature toon doing what little healing they could at that level.  After first mish they declared they were upping it to +2.  3 of us cautioned against it.  Deaths followed in the next couple missions with a full wipe at the end of the 'brega mish then again in the next to last with the first ambush.  Then another almost full wipe on the second ambush.

 

Lowest it to +1 again, everyone focuses better in the last mish with only 1 death during the doppleganger part.   I'd give the run a 4 out of 10.

Okay. Well first i rarely run a posi 1/2 in someone elses team unless i have not had enough coffee or i like the very specific advertisement.  Because posi needs to be at +0 and a lot of idiots do not get that. In fact i run everything below 50 at +0.  Badges, merits, and the easy cheesy experience.  No need to move a mountain because someone told you there is an extra $10 under it somewhere.  ITF at +4.  Maybe some LGTF at +4 if i know the peeps. But Posi at +anything?   Noooooo.  Then when you see the stupid happen a few inspirations and some temp hand grenades make a big difference
