(I'm definitely not as much of a fan as QT was.) Screenplay clunked a bit, the paternity subplot felt unnecessary and undercooked, and... ....well, Kevin "Kerrrrrrrriiippptonite!" Spacey was the thing that kinda broke it for me. But there's good bits. Brandon wore the cape well, and the other character interplay was decent. Lose the kid, lose half of the first reel, drop more quickly into the action and tighten the rest, and you'd have had a decent little flick. (Oh, and maybe reshoot Spacey with Phil Hoffman if they could have got him). One other thing: that was the 6th biggest flick by box office in 2006, 9th worldwide, with $400m. But if you blow your budget to $222m - plus maybe another $100m marketing - that's not great. WAKE UP YA MISCREANTS AND... HEY, GET YOUR OWN DAMN SIGNATURE. Look out for me being generally cool, stylish and funny (delete as applicable) on Excelsior.

They tried that already and it didn't work. Oh, please. There is a huge difference between whimsical and farcical. The Donner films had a lot of humor in them, as did the George Reeves tv show, The Animated Series, and more recently, "Superman and Lois". Doesn't mean you can't also have serious and even tragic moments. I'll disagree that Superman is "whimsical" and needs "whimsy", which is what you said in your earlier post. Of course, inject a little humor and charm into it. Whimsy? No. I didn't care for the brooding Superman in Man of Steel and BvS either. Loved Henry Cavill in the role, but he suffered from a bad script. I'd have loved to have seen him with a better script. 1 hour ago, ThaOGDreamWeaver said: But there's good bits. Brandon wore the cape well, and the other character interplay was decent. I have to agree, while I love Superman Returns for it's Superman feats that were just awesome (would've loved a super beat down, but got that in MoS FINALLY), I did not like the son angle and the stalker angle, though I'm trying to recall, wasn't that more on just his son than Lois?

No he was full on stalker mode with Lois. He didn't know the kid was his until the end of the movie. 1

Which is ridiculous. The fact that he didn't know means that he can't do basic math and that he is ok with the love of his life jumping into bed with another man the day after he disappeared. Neither of make Superman look good. Being constantly offended doesn't mean you're right, it means you're too narcissistic to tolerate opinions different than your own.

Had it continued, Clark would have realized it but raised the child as his own. 1

Ok, I just did a bit of research and saw that Zack Snyder has confirmed that Lois was pregnant with Superman's child in Justice League. It's not nice to try to fool the Falcon. 😁 Being constantly offended doesn't mean you're right, it means you're too narcissistic to tolerate opinions different than your own.

Got a strong Snowy of Tin-Tin vibe from that dog. What on earth hits the big boy scout so hard on his first film out that he crumples like that? Those that can do so I would usually anticipate for a later movie. The trailer felt like it was packing multiple films into one 1

The theatrical cut of Justice League removed numerous characters and subplots from backstories to larger sequel seeds and universe building, like the inclusion of DC big bad Darkseid, but the one element Snyder said was removed entirely from an early rewrite after the harsh reactions to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was the romantic subplot between Bruce Wayne and Lois Lane resulting in her carrying his child.

Rumored plans aside, it's unfortunate that we'll never see the rest of that storyline. 1 Being constantly offended doesn't mean you're right, it means you're too narcissistic to tolerate opinions different than your own.
