TheMoncrief Posted August 28 Posted August 28 This is kind of a silly request, but a common joke in Mothership Raids is either telling newbies to lick the shield for a badge, or warning them not to lick it even though it is delicious. Bearing that in mind, why not have a Shield Licker badge? 2 1 1 1 1
Rudra Posted August 28 Posted August 28 So... you want to make a ridiculous prank that no one in their right minds should ever believe into something that actually exists?! 1

Totally onboard for this! 1 hour ago, Rudra said: So... you want to make a ridiculous prank that no one in their right minds should ever believe into something that actually exists?! Yeah! Because going up and touching / licking the shield around the mothership ports you to the fort by the western wall. It's fun, nifty, and... why not? 🙂 There's a similar badge for trying to run through the sonic fence in First Ward... don't see why we shouldn't have a fun badge for first time running into the Mothership shield. 🙂 1

Can't tell you how often I died without getting it trying to get it on each character I bothered to get it for. So not exactly a good justification in my book. 28 minutes ago, Frozen Burn said: Yeah! So does fighting in the bowl during a MSR when the timer runs out and the shields come back up. So what would be the difference? I guess I will just never understand some desires. Whatever. There is no good reason to oppose this, it just also makes not a bit of sense to me. 1

Whether you hate it or not, it's similar in function and frivolity, so justification is sound. 2 hours ago, Rudra said: So does fighting in the bowl during a MSR when the timer runs out and the shields come back up. So what would be the difference? Perhaps. And so what if it does? You can get the badge if you do an MSR or not by just running into the shield. 2 hours ago, Rudra said: I guess I will just never understand some desires. Whatever. It's simple, it's fun, it's a badge, it's frivolous, it's open to everyone to get, and it's just one of those small things in life that can make some people smile. Just something small to stop and smell the roses, or lick the shield. 😄 1 1
Luminara Posted August 28 Posted August 28 That would cause a lot of real confusion for players trying to get Unabashed. 1 Get busy living... or get busy dying. That's goddamn right.
Riverdusk Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Guess that shows how long it has been since I've done an MSR. Never even heard of that particular joke. 1

Major_Decoy Posted August 28 Posted August 28 I vote Window Licker because there's no where else in the city we can faire du lèche-vitrine. 1
Laucianna Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I'm all for a funny badge, though I would suggest having to touch the shield twice, so when people do go for the badge and get ported and people tell them "Oh no, you have to do it twice!" They are going to think it's a load of bull 😄 1 1 1 ❤️ Kheldian Guide ❤️ 🎖️ Friday Fashion Contest 🎖️ 🗒️Character Wiki🗒️Friendly reminder that no matter what anyone or anything is saying, you ARE loved AND valued in life no matter what.

It would be amusing if there was a big table of flavors tucked away on the server, and when you were teleported, you got a message like "You arrive back at Point du Hoc with a strange taste of [random flavor] in your mouth". Maybe something to add for the April Fool's event. Edited August 29 by srmalloy grammar cleanup 2
