"Ice Slide" travel power

Recommended Posts

I've made and Ice/Ice Blaster and I wanted to recreate an Iceman/Frozone style of travel power where they slide around on a sheet of ice that they create in front of themselves and haven't found a great way to make it work. I know the game has limited options and so far Power Slide is ok, but you can't fly, and with Fly, you are set to the flight pose.

Anyone have a recommendation as to a better way to recreate sliding on ice that also allows me to essentially fly or glide?

Thanks

i asked this long ago.  The prestige sprints have something that looks like ice slide, when colored.  It seems not doable from what i remember.

Superspeed (colored blue/ white) with Super Jump (minimal FX).

Super Jump comes with Double Jump. With Double Jump on, you can get a lot of fly/ glide motion. However, it will time out, and you'll and up landing, but you'll still be Super Speeding, and still zipping along.

I did see that there is a Void Skiff from the P2W vendor but I'm reading that it turns off all other powers so I wouldn't be able to keep power slide on with my custom effect.

also you cannot color it.  it is very wrong look

using prestige sprint ice trail with superjump might get close.  you will have to test.  the end cost will be heavy.

There's a Frost Trail movement effect in the costume creator. If you recolour powerslide and maybe take Superspeed, if you use a power that gives a good jump like the Ninja Sprint (there is one that looks pretty normal) you might get something close to the effect you want

There's a fine line between a numerator and a denominator but only a fraction of people understand that.

frost trail movement only with prestige sprint slide and superspeed colored to match the frost trail and off you go ice sliding

keep athletic run on for when you need a bit of height and you can get most anywhere

jet pack if you need a bit more vertical lift

Brief movement vid

It's not the greatest image, but it gets the idea across.

Path Aura / Frost - set to pure white

Inherent / Prestige Power Slide / Bright - colors:  blue (9 across 9 down)  off-white (9 across, 0 down)

In addition to running the Prestigue Power Slide, I like to run Athletic Run simultaneously when I can. It's an endurance drain, but it gives speed for an even better look in motion.

The effect looks great with a jumping power as well, but again, end drain to consider.

It doesn't turn off powers, it turns on the "only affects self" flag, so you can use Power Slide and other travel powers with it on. You just can't attack. With the frost aura and Power Slide colored frosty it does a pretty good job of covering up the uncolorable Skiff. You can also use it with Fly for greater speed, and you won't lose the slide pose.

Use the Power Slide stance for all your ground travel powers... you don't need the power... just edit your Sprint to go into Power Slide Stance.  You can do the same for Super Speed, and other travel powers.  Then use the Frost / Snowy Travel Aura and it leaves a frosty trail after you.  It's AWESOME!

Search him out on the forum.

you dont need the prestige sprint this is true

but the prestige sprint slide does add a bit of fx to the mix which when colored on its own looks like a mini ice slide when added into SS and movement auras its a full on ice slide and looks very cool

also the prestige sprints are free from the vendor and so its not a big deal to obtain them

As long as you don't use any amount of +forward, you can powerslide while flying. It works side to side and backwards just fine.

True, but it uses the Flight pose which is what I'm trying to avoid. I've set my flight to Slide stance but that seems to do nothing. I did manage to get the void skiff, and while it does sometimes look a bit silly, it works for what I want.

No, that's what I'm saying, it only uses the flight pose when you're moving forward. It uses the power slide pose for left, right, and back.
