hopefully this means they'll be fixing regen, aka giving one of the clickies a +absorb component and integration a +absorb tick

The regen set has an absorption shield on Sentinels.  It's pretty good.

Originally on Infinity.  I have Ironblade on every shard.  -  My only AE arc:  The Origin of Mark IV  (ID 48002)

Link to the story of Toggle Man, since I keep having to track down my original post.

So you're okay with that getting ported just to Tanks as is?

Of course not. The ideal Tank version of the set goes:

Revive

Vengeance

Resurgence

Restore Essence

Unrelenting

Victory Rush

Self-destruction

And two new powers;

Came Back Wrong

Self-sacrifice (passive, allows you to cast Vengeance and Victory Rush while defeated, using AV modifiers for Victory Rush)

I know tankers get better defense/resist values from their armors, but does that extend to regeneration and/or healing?  Maybe give them a variation of the old instant healing toggle power?

Unless they've changed it for some reason, I believe that Tankers and Brutes actually have a lower regeneration cap than Stalkers and Scrappers, something like 1500% vs. 2300%.

That said, actual regeneration scales with maximum hit points so if you compare a Tanker and Scrapper with the same power sets and same slot bonuses, the tanker will regenerate health faster. (If I remember how regeneration works probably, I think it's "You heal x% of your maximum health per tic, and higher regeration scores make the tics faster)

Yeah, it's the larger HP pool that makes the regen potentially stronger on a Tanker.

The resistance numbers would naturally better as well (guessing +30% for powers compared to a Brute. ~20-25% overall)

Plus the better ATOs (+18.7% S/L, +12.7% everything else)

That could mean the potential for at least capped S/L with F/C close enough for Scaling Resist to the cap them.

So here is an existing EM/Regen Brute at baseline operation before any big buffs like Rune of Protection, Moment of Glory, Instant Healing, Demonic Aura, Incarnates, etc.

I'm guessing @Spaghetti Betty may have even better numbers on theirs.

“came back wrong” is so funny

You cast your flagship power, Revive, unfortunately it doesn’t activate properly and you return to battle as yourself.. just.. different. Your outlook isn’t great but you feel AMAZING”

+Self Revive

+80% DMG for 90 seconds

+20% To Hit for 90 seconds

+50% Recharge for 90 seconds

After 90 seconds your mutated heart explodes inside your chest casting a base 110 smashing damage 15ft PbAoE

Well, I stopped building my toons for toughness quite a long time ago! If you check this thread here, my favorite Regen Brute has slightly worse armor numbers than that, and can still take on plenty of content just fine! Granted, I haven't put it through anything extremely hard like the 3x Avatar of Hamidon fight or my AE missions since the respec, but so far so good!

Everyone has ideas on how to fix regen, but there's only one thing really wrong with it. Other power sets let you resist or avoid damage, but the point of regen is just recover from it, and our favorite comics regenerator embraces getting hit and knowing it's going to hurt because it lets him get in close for those brutal claw attacks.

Regen doesn't need more resistance or healing or absorb.....it needs a damage buff. Your damage mitigation is increased ability to take down your foes faster.

<chuckle> Yes!

Though, it might be more fun if you had no control over when it triggered, and also had a chance to go off when you selected "revive at hospital"
