That said, if you ever feel up to it, it'd be nice to get a higher res (and with stock) Remington/Mossberg/Etc model. A SPAS 12 wouldn't hurt my feelings either.

In a Blackwing related matter, would it be possible, within this release's timeframe, to get their Exelsion force field effect ported to the elemental Shield model? (EDIT: I suppose the Vanguard shield would make sense too, though that might be more complex since it has literally moving parts)

If it already exists in-game, let me know where and I can add it to players; If it doesn't exist, then I obviously can't add it.
At that point we'd need a 3D artist to create new model assets from scratch and I'm not a 3D artist.

Unfortunately, this is unlikely to happen...

 

Page 2's costume additions were all about giving players things already created or already existing from NPCs.

I'm not fulfilling brand-new player-exclusive requests; That's not within the scope of my work at this time.

Not sure if mentioned yet, but using any awakened top disables the useage of Blackwing Shouldepads.

 

They dissapear from the shoulder selection menu, not sure if by design or a bug.

Would we be able to get the Blackwing gloves for Jackets with sleeves?

 

The Aeon gloves seem lonely being the only big gloves in that category.

 

Perhaps also the Elemental Order gloves? As they were made to work with the sleeves in Robes.

I don't mind, I think it could be a great costume part to get it, its very unique. Perhaps it could be added to a different category, such as detail 1 or detail 2, or even built as a single piece, a talon hood with hair, since we already have the regular version without hair. Even if it is added as a chest detail I'd love to have it. TY so much for looking into it! 😍

Is there any chance we can get the new Blackwing pieces without the Blackwing symbols on them? Such as the chest piece that has the wings on the back and the bird on the front. Can we get this just without the Blackwing symbols as an alternate option. That way players can decide if they want the branding or not. 🙂

Unfortunately, right now, I'm actually dead in the water on textures creation...
Something updated with my graphics drivers that broke the Photoshop Nvidia plug-in I used to export .PSD to .DDS format that we then convert into .TEXTURE files for the game.
So I currently do not have the capability to create new textures. X_X

I've spent so many hours trying to figure out why the thing broke, but I've had no luck on fixing it; Reinstalling the old versions of the plug-in/Photoshop; Trying various version combos...

Nothing works for me. The Nvidia plug-in crashes Photoshop on launch no matter what versions I try, and the stand-alone converter can't convert correctly to the exact older specifications City of Heroes needs, causing the textures to become broken, lose contrast, and color masking.

Until I figure out why this no longer works, I'm unable to deliver requests that need new texture work, like bird-less BWI pieces, or a BWI Valkyrie belt.

How about the Flamethrower various NPCs use? Could that be made available, at least for Assault Rifle? (might be neat for Beam Rifle too)

Those rotary miniguns have always been desirable too. Are they feasible, or does the animation muck things up as a player weapon?

The Flamethrower and the Gas Canister Sprayer were on a list to do.

The guns with animating parts like Miniguns or Sonic Rifles/Cannons... Not sure, I'd have to try and see how they work on players; Haven't proliferated an animating rifle before.

Hey so if you guys were to make another power set (myself and others have suggested power armour) would it be feasible to use existing assets and apply it to the power set? In particular, the strafing missiles that you see on Praetorians with the missile packs and the Kronos Titan? What about a mini gatling gun? The other assets seem less complex but could also include the missile barrage from War Walkers. Essentially, recycling assets already in game. Would this be a tough ask?

Have you tried using GIMP at all? It's got the ability to open and export to both .psd and .dds files natively. I know it's a bit of a ballache to need to open a separate program just to save to the format you need, but it might at least give you a workaround you can use for now until your plug-in gets fixed.

Really? I've never used GIMP before; I've definitely heard of it though.

If it solves my .DDS conversion issue that'd be a godsend, it's really limiting me on what I can deliver right now. I have the BWI Valkyrie belt textured fully, I just haven't been able to convert it to get in-game.

Oh good that someone suggested GIMP.   It's a good program. It's the only editor I use (though I've used PS and a host of others over the years)

Just a general comment, could we get tattoos (such as are present with Female > Upper Body > Tops With Skin > Chest > Cybertech 4) available independently of Chest costume pieces? Perhaps as shoulder and/or back options?

Would we be able to get (sorry, this list may be long):

Everything from this image of a Praetorian PPD, the bigger gloves, boots, legs, belt, shoulders, and helm. If possible variants without the PPD logo would be amazing.

I love that IDF chest piece for the gorget-ish part on it. I would get so much use out of that. Even if it's technically shoulder or back instead of chest.

FWIW, we do have the Nemesis Staff in Titan Weapons, and it's animated, and I've never seen it malfunction. So Council and Nemesis miniguns -should- be fine if there aren't invisible issues... Come to think of it, the Council version of the Minigun is available as a Temp Power via a mission in Praetoria, so I know it at least works in that regard on player models. For the life of me I can't even remember the animation on Sonic Rifles and Cannons right now. Speaking of Cannons though, that Resistance Heavy Cannon, the one that looks like the side gun on the old GI Joe Dragonfly helicopter... Is that viable for AR/BR? Or does the barrel line up differently from the firing effects? (Not that most of us would be likely to notice, or care that much in the heat of combat) And that of course makes me think of the Council Rocket Launcher... boy would that be nice to see, at the very least in the Munitions Epic Pool, specifically so we can use it with the Rocket Launcher attack 🙂 Of course, if it lines up with the attack effects, it'd be just as viable for AR as the Grenade Launcher 🙂

A couple other weapons I'd love to see proliferated are the Arabian Scimitar from Broadsword, at least to Dual Wield. Always felt like an oversight that didn't get done back on live. If the grip is long enough, it'd be nice to see it in Katana and Blaster>Ninja too. While I expect it's more of a hurdle, because I don't know if scaling the models is within your capacity, it'd also be great in Titan Weapons (along with it's buddy, the Chinese Broadsword)...

The other is the Tsoo Kama, which would be awesome to see in Broadsword, Dual Wield, and Axe. I suppose a massive one as a scythe in Titan would be amusing, but probably too silly to be worth the effort... Don't we have a scythe suitable for Titan Weapons though, on the Reaper EB for Trick or Treat?

And of course, as I write this, I remember another proliferation I've wanted to see since Live... The Arachnos machine pistol, the smaller HK looking one that's an option on Wolf Spiders... can that go to Dual Pistols? It'd be nice for making an Arachnos themed character that uses pistols instead of being SoA. Or is that the kind of thing that would just get nixed to avoid unique weapons on the VEAT being less unique?

BTW, I REALLY appreciate the Imperial Defense Heavy gloves getting put in. That extra bit on top goes a long way towards selling the "Gun Hands" idea on a tech themed ranged attack that doesn't use actual guns.

Lastly, this one is mostly a matter of curiosity, wondering if it's within you folks' means... How viable would it be to add one of the rotary cannons from the minigun pet (Blasters & Dominators) to the front of a D.U.S.T. Cannon? Just seems like it would be a neat looking gun that uses existing art, if it can be stitched together behind the scenes (and none of the concerns over existing miniguns prove relevant). Similarly, that rotary barrel would be neat on a Large Robotic glove, replacing the hand portion of the glove (maybe replacing it only during an attack, like that animated Praetorian Clockwork glove)... of course that's just dreaming at this point... there's no way you guys could do something like that, right 😛

I'm really not sure this is a thread to talk about requesting new costume pieces from NPCs and might be better to stay on topic with feedback options.

 

But I will say: @The Volt

It annoys me so dang much that when Going Rogue launched, a pre-order bonus was 'PPD gauntlets' and instead of those hefty, giant force gauntlets we see on PPD, TEST, and DUST, we got those dumb, anemic things  that barely qualified for skidplates on the forearms. Also, I think it'd be the IDF leg pouches that would be seen as having clipping issues (due to being unable to scale, maybe? I do know it would theoretically be available to male and female as twinshot has them), the full chestpiece that covers the whole upperbody would clip, but honestly, I fail to see an issue since the way large pieces like that work is because they basically clip through the whole torso with the arms and head sticking out. I get the implication is it clipping with back and shoulder pieces, and to be blunt, I still fail to see an issue when plenty of pieces already do that sort of thing.

You're probably right. The scope of the requests does seem to have exceeded the focus of focused feedback. I'm easily to blame as much as anyone in this instance. But the conversation kinda took a turn this way, and I hate to stifle myself while I have @Cobalt Arachne's attention on the subject.

Yeah, I got carried away with my list. Initially started choosing things that I thought would be a simple thing to give players that may already have customisation options and such, that I believed would be easy to just switch to being player accessible. Items that we see on multiple NPC's and confirmed to be able to be recoloured.

 

In regards to clipping issues, we have seen them approach this in a way. Look at the Awakened body pieces and how they disallow access to certain shoulder pads, or the Troll head and certain details.

 

The IDF torso piece has clipping issues and I think it also has a problem where you can just see right through it if isn't paired with the IDF belt, which I thought could maybe be remedied with the way they lock certain pieces when choosing others.

I was more annoyed by the helmet, it didn't match the rest of the outfit. The PPD helmet is a bit tighter and form fitting, whereas we got the TEST helmet (which looks fine when paired with the rest of the bulkier TEST armour) and made our PPD wannabes look like Megamind,

This is a good selection of stuff to be ported to the players I know it'll be harder to get those armor pieces over to the female models tho. Eventhough how much I want that PPD chest and shoulders for my Arsenal/Traps troller.
