I have really only played on one server.  I was wondering what it was like on the different servers and I'm sure there are a lot of opinions.  It would warm my spreadsheet's heart if it has a list of what each one was like.

I've played on Excelsior and Everlasting. So far as I can tell, they both appear to be populated primarily by human beings.

  1. General Chat sometimes entertains, sometimes makes me roll my eyes, and sometimes I turn it off for a few days.
  2. LFG Chats are generally all business.
  3. Help chat is pretty help-focused, but some questions will spawn discussions.
  4. People seem able to fill groups no problem during prime time, but struggle overnight, and definitely struggle during the normal workday. (I have wierd hours, so sometimes I'm on then).
  5. I find Everlasting has a good base of Redside players, but still never gonna touch Blueside numbers.

Victory's too new to have much in the way of a "server character", and it's pretty low pop. It is, however, great if you primarily like soloing with only really being able to find teams in the peak play hours of the evening. However, the regulars put in the effort to make sure it is as welcoming as possible to newcomers, so the vibe is super friendly.

Only have experience on Excelsior and Everlasting.

Ever is ofc the "RP Shard". Thought its a pretty mixed bag of RPers and general folks just playing around. I'll say my best general interactions have been on Everlasting. Ewe/ The Goat gave me a phenomenal tour of all the updates my first week back after broadcasting for a while in Atlas they were doing tours. Got me a few badges, sent me home with a few million inf and a SG invite.

Excelsior has a noticeably different tone. Where Everlasting feels like a hometown vibe with the occasional squabble, it's generally just chill. Excel ranges from normal non-rp interactions to more "serious" tones on occasion. I would wager theres a higher propensity of min-max type players (though they're likely a low % overall) and more "hardcore" types that like function over form.

Both have a place for my weekly play sessions. I think people continue to gravitate towards Excel because of the population density. Finding a team in LFG takes just a few minutes almost any day of the week. However, with more people comes a higher chance of odd interactions. I'm so happy to be back on CoX so I do everything in my power to deescalate when there's riffing either in team, broadcast or even LFG. I've had notably more poor interactions in Excel where someone is acting a fool, trolling/griefing, or just being rude.

But again, that makes up maybe less than 2% of my interactions.

I haven't played others but hear Torchbearer has extra XP and a rather calm community.

Each server has it's people that are passionate about the game and have mastered the game's mechanics to a science.

Some servers have more people, so have more good and bad things about it. That's pretty much it.
