Sorry - I'm often unpopular, but /jranger.

I like the challenge of having to get the NPC's to the door, and if I am stealthed, then I would expect that they can't see me.  What's good for the goose is good for the gander...

Can your teammates see you?

I should hope so...it would break the game mechanics if they can't...

I get what you are saying...there is only so much immersion to be expected in the game...but where it exists, I'd prefer it be kept...

I don't know if this will aid the topic at all, but I'd appreciate it if the hostages wouldn't just walk up right next to me while I'm taking care of the bad guys -- sometimes even between me and the boss. I find if funny, but also distracting at times. And of course totally unrealistic. If I may suggest instead for the escortee to flee when there's a said encounter with baddies. And while you're preoccupied, he/she hides again so you have to find them again... maybe within the immediate vicinity only, not in like a different floor or across the map into previously unrevealed areas. In such a case, maybe an option (similar to pet window?) to tell the hostage to stay put some place while you dismiss threats, or help you fight if they are able, or call them if they're within a limited radius from you.

I just wish that escorts could see you from farther away. It's really, really annoying for escorts to constantly lose my MM because collision with my pets causes them to be pushed back and wind up out of range. Over. And over. And over. I wind up having to turn off Sprint and pause every 5 seconds and yet they STILL get 'left behind' repeatedly. No Stealth of any fashion. I either dismiss my minions, or I turn on WALK and hope that that's slow enough for them to not get pushed back out of range. Bloody annoying.

Some of the "newer" story arcs (i.e. Praetoria, First Ward etc.) feature some escort NPCs who are able to follow you no matter how far you go and regardless of any stealth powers, so the technology certainly exists but whether or not it's as simple as flicking a switch, I don't know. If it required manually changing every escort I could understand why the devs would be hesitant to work on that.

Oh? You like City of Heroes?

Name every player character.

I'll be waiting in my PMs.

I have turned on walk before if I know I've cleared the map...But I always turn off sprint, it's just too fast for them to keep up...

Exactly! I turn off Sprint, and despite having zero boost to run speed (Swift unslotted, etc.) it still doesn't help the NPC stay within range, especially with minions jostling for their own spot in my wake.

So I just created a new thread on this and was unaware of this threads existence .

after reading everything here; I’m totally fine with these npcs not just being able to zip through for RP purposes.

But like one guy here said, when they’re getting lost every 10 ft. Somethings gotta give .
