T4 Agility Core

T4 Degenerative Radial

T2 Support Core (currently swapping to Assault)

Obviously no end problems, but my Hybrid isn't helping at all. Working towards Assault Radial now for teams as well as solo.

Total time was 2:12 (132 seconds) for a DPS of 418.328. That is an awesome start, and this clearly wasn't the cleanest run possible. That said, still 2s faster than the run I didn't get knocked down in ;D

As far as my build is concerned, I'd love to figure out how to squeeze out a little more damage, as well as recharge (PA is 0.91s away from perma in Pine's). Also need to swap my Acc/Dam + Dam IO in Blind to 2x Procs for DPS.

I tried playing around in Pine's myself & I cannot for the life of me figure out how you got to 45% S/L defense & 150+ global recharge.  Best I can squeeze out is 38.6% S/L & 153% recharge, and that's without having a -res proc in Shatter.  Perhaps you're accounting for more of the incarnates than I am?  (I don't like relying on Incarnates very much for core parts like this cause I like to do a lot of content that isn't at level cap...)  IDK how else to account for that sizable difference in S/L defense.  Certainly curious now.

I'm not Kaeladin, but I managed to get 45.03% S/L and that ST chain with a 0.072s gap while hasten is up (10s downtime though :( ) with Musculature. I'm sure it'd be easier with Agility, but didn't want to loose the DPS bump. I also haven't played enough WM to know which set should go in which ST attack, but this should be a decent starting point!

Looking at the build you gave I think the disparity was due to something I never would've thought about; splitting the 3 pieces of the Scrapper ATO into 2 different powers for a total of +10 S/L defense instead of 5.  I had been using it in a single power for the 6-slot bonus, I had never thought of splitting it. Often times, my brain thinks to linearly.  ;)

Edit: A couple of things I had questions about, is there a reason you took Whirling at 32 instead of Crowd Control?  That'd usually be the opposite.  Probably doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, since I can just switch the order in the actual build.  A more important question I think is why you picked the Mako's proc instead of one of the other damage procs.  The damage type on it is certainly the least useful of the options, does it proc more or have a higher base damage?  IDK much about how the procs are balanced against each other for any sets.

Edit 2: I noticed another part of the issue that I brought up & this build doesn't solve, WM wants a -res proc in Shatter & using the ATO as a 6-slot means you can't put one in there.  I'll try playing around with where the groups are slotted...

Edit 3: Trying to fit a -res proc into Shatter created a series of issues that resulted in my taking Bash (the WM T1 attack) really late in the build just to use as a set mule for 5 slots of Blistering Cold, and actually ended up with a tad bit more +rech I think.  Feels kinda wasteful to spend 5 slots on something I will never use, but the resulting #s look pretty decent, so it's probably worth it.  I'd still like to see Kael's version to compare & contrast.

I built this for 50, so didn't quite care when I took specific powers, so feel free to move those around for sure.

I actually prefer Mako since Lethal is a lot less resisted than people think, but a ToD would be just fine if you face more Negative weak enemies.

Yea, I ran into similar issues trying to get a -res proc into Shatter.  The problem is that the Combination of your ST attacks + Whirling Mace give 30% rech and 5% S/L defense. Avalanche in Whirling Mace would give you 2.5% less S/L def, or Oblit would give 5% less recharge.

Could you clarify this bit for me?  I don't really understand this lumping together of Whirling with my ST attacks, though it may have to do with the following:

I originally left Whirling out of my build because Crowd Control and Shatter are good enough AoE & on short enough cooldowns even at my current level of +rech that I don't really need it.  Whirling's animation seems really long for the damage it does, though since I'm not in front of my PC right now I can't say for certain. With that in mind, both Whirling and/or Bash were incorporated almost purely to be set mules, so it doesn't matter much very much to me which of those 2 goes in that power slot.  I suppose Whirling would be slightly more useful than bash, but even then I don't have a good place to hotkey it with all the other buttons I have for WM+Bio + my priority target macro.

Ill/Traps Controller

T4 Musculature Core

T4 Reactive Radial

T4 Assault Core

First run was 1:44, could probably do better if the Phantasm didn't run into melee and get himself killed constantly.  And that time includes dropping triage beacons and resummoning the FFG whenever it got blown up.

Build attached.  I never use Trip Mine on the pylon, damage was just spamming Spectral Wounds/Blind and dropping caltrops, ice storm, poison trap, and acid mortar on cooldown.

Well, I'm not Kael either, but here's another take on WM/Bio to compare. I went for more survivability and got softcapped S/L and F/C, as well as nearly hardcapped S/L res with offensive adaptation (combat attributes in game show 73.56% with 1 enemy in melee range). Hasten is also perma. Naturally this comes at a cost of lower DPS as I had to go for Core Agility. Haven't done any Pylon runs yet as I want to get the the Core Assault T4 first instead of my current Radial, but I'm certain that my numbers are going to be significantly lower than Kael's.

This one does look significantly tankier which I like, but it does run into the same thing I noticed on Doyler's, there's no -res proc in Shatter, which I something I definitely want.  I didn't play with the setup like I did the other, but it'll likely have to be modified a fair bit to fit it in.  I did like your idea to put a 2 set of Rectified Reticle in both tactics & BU, seems like it could potentially be very useful. Thanks for the ideas!

Well, it's actually pretty easy to modify. Naturally, it comes at the expanse of survivability, but the difference probably won't be too noticeable. For what it's worth, I've designed my character as a generalist, so I purposely put Critical Strikes in Shatter, as it's the only attack I use it in both ST and AoE chains.

Anyway, there you go:

Below is my version of the Ill/Cold.  Strategy was to pre-summon and buff Toxic Tarantula and Phantasm (including Clarion to avoid knockback), keep debuffs at a maximum, and otherwise spam attacks.  Times are with Hybrid on.  I started each run when I cast Phantom Army.

Times:

2:02 - Messed up rotation

1:52 - Ran out of endurance, should have turned off Tough/Sprint

2:05 - Let Phantasm, Toxic Tarantula take shots before summoning PA, didn't let Hasten reactivate

1:39 - Didn't run out of endurance, all pets survived run

Overall, I feel the last run is most indicative of the build's potential.  The high number of procs, -resistance, capped defenses (S/L/R), and Perma-PA without needing Ageless (Clarion = Perma Mez protection) overall I feel make a very strong build with more DPS than builds missing Poisonous Ray or procs.

With T3 Reactive, T3 Cardio, T4 Assault

Honestly the rotation was stuffed and the build is no where near min maxed for ST at all. Probably get into the 1.30s if I really tried for the 'perfect' run.

If I was interested in pure pylon DPS I would go Ill/Storm/Levithan for Water Spout and Perma PP pet.

Something like this:

Why don't I? Because this second build is much more limited then the first build. The PP pet dies all the time (lt level mob with hardly any HP or resists), runs along the ground so you don't use it if doing any quick runs. The Spout is great single target DPS with excellent cast efficiency but Psi Tornado in the first build is way better at clearing a room. Plus the first build has perma CC protection which helps a heap versus Carnies and such.

I suppose with the extra 50+ DPS (Pet + Spout on triple Freezing Rain) I would suspect low 120s would be very possible. Could try to fit in a -res proc if you were really keen.

Few more runs on fire/rad/psi sentinel:

Ageless Radial Epiphany, Melee Hybrid (wanted to see how'd that go / if it might be an alternative to Barrier + Assault Hybrid)
3:08 = 331 DPS
3:15 = 324 DPS
3:22 = 317 DPS

(so, probably not)

Ageless Radial Epiphany, Assault Hybrid, Pyronic Judgement (makes for a great DPA attack to replace Flares... once every 2 minutes)
2:20 = 401 DPS
2:51 = 352 DPS
2:13 = 416 DPS
2:25 = 392 DPS
2:21 = 399 DPS

This is increasingly "pylon" DPS as opposed to "real" world DPS, as I wouldn't use Ageless in hard content, but it makes for an interesting insight as to what extra recharge can bring to my attack chain given its gaps.
Also interesting to see the variance. That 2:51 run had no player mishap, just plain bad luck with misses on high damage moves.

Some more runs with Ageless Partial Core (not enough materials to craft the leftside T4 yet)
2:29 = 385 DPS
2:21 = 399 DPS
2:28 = 386 DPS
2:32 = 380 DPS
2:26 = 390 DPS

I'm thinking that's about as high as this character will go. From a supposed attack chain of Blaze - Mind Probe - Flares - Blaze - Dominate - Flares, what I'm actually running at this point is something closer to Blaze - Dominate - Mind Probe - Blaze - [do something], when "[do something]" is Ageless, Pyronic, Flares if the opportunity bar is up, Aim + Inferno if ready, and so on.

Note my Tornado may seem over slotted for recharge but the Superior ATO set in Mids is bugged it actually only gives 23% recharge not 53%.

Got to 1.39 (99 seconds) for 515 DPS. My prediction of 120s was widely optimistic it seems. Using T4 Assault/Ageless/Cardiac/Spectral (25% Immo chance forgot to change it plus nothing decent to change it too).

Note I don't have any -regen this is just pure DPS.

My rotation was a very strange Arcane Bolt and Psi Tornado alternate. Both powers which have rather poor DPA. The reason I use them is because they both have FF + recharge procs. With the additional +recharge procs in Tornado and Lightning Storm plus high global recharge I am almost at the recharge cap whenever one of IOs proc. Basically I am a Tornado/Freezing Rain/Lightning Storm (both Tornado and Storm have fantasic DPA) delivery system. I have partial triple overlap on Tornados and partial quad overlap on Lightning Storm.

All Illusion Controllers are probably losing 20-30 DPS due to suicidal Phantasm AI(please fix Devs).

I am wondering if a pure 'Pylon build' using a Patron pet would be a DPS boost. The only attack that takes +FF recharge is Water Spout but the Pet there is melee focused and will just die. The only pets to really survive would be Mu and Soul Mastery pets which are not so suited to single target.

How do you keep it up that long with that End Drain? Do you turn off some toggles for the testing?

So l had a funsies Pylon run last night, after an MSR ended l got lazy about traveling back and was going to let a Pylon Hosp-trip me back to the base. Standing there in front of it though l decided "Eh, why not" and opened the timer, turned it on, and started summoning my pets.

So l did a zero-to-full-on time test of my Robot/kin MM to see how adaptive he'd be in a more realistic setting. End result was 5:22, or 248 DPS, no Pre-pull, no "ready to go" bots or pre-established buffs, just "oh crap, go!" And you know what? I'm actually pretty happy with that time.

Forgot to add: That was T3 Musculature Core and T1 Radial, as usual no insp, no other temps, etc. So there's a decent amount of ceiling room for this kind of scenario considering my Kin MM isn't fully Incarnate-kitted-out, and only has one attack (Ice Blast).

Trying my new toy, a rad/fire scrapper.
Attack chain is Burn -> Devastating Blow -> Radiation Siphon -> Radioactive Smash -> (gap)
Currently that gap is fairly long, I haven't bought needed enhancement boosters.

Incarnates: Musculature T4, Hybrid T4 doublehit (in use), Degen T3 (-75% max HP), Barrier (unused)
Hecatomb proc + Achilles Heel -res in Devastating Blow, Obliteration proc + Fury of the Gladiator -res in Irradiated Ground, Armageddon + Critical Strikes procs in Burn

2:57 = 344 DPS (only Degen T2, then noticed I could craft the T3)
2:59 = 342 DPS
2:21 = 399 DPS

2:33 = 378 DPS

This build is still missing one purple set. Also thinking I've made some weird choices in misc slotting (this was a build made a month ago). So, pretty happy about the potential here.

Provided someone else is keeping mobs nice and tight, the combo hits like a truck in teams: Burn procs the ATO 90-95% of the time, and is then followed by a Fiery Embrace-fueled Devastating Blow. Fun.

Finally got around to doing some pylon runs yesterday with my live WM/Bio build that I've posted here before.

T4 Agility Core

T4 Degenerative Core

T3 Ageless Partial Core

T4 Assault Core

Rotation was Shatter - Clobber - Jawbreaker.

Like Kael, started every run with Hasten + Ageless, begin timer as soon as I hit Build Up.

Times without Hybrid clicky:

2:50 ~ 353 DPS

2:52 ~ 351 DPS

2:35 ~ 375 DPS

2:47 ~ 357 DPS

2:28 ~ 387 DPS

Times with Hybrid clicky used:

2:09 ~ 425 DPS

2:14 ~ 414 DPS

2:04 ~ 437 DPS

1:42 ~ 504 DPS

1:53 ~ 467 DPS

Overall, the numbers seem to be in line with what I expected, given my somewhat suboptimal slotting on ST attacks. Nevertheless, I'm fairly pleased with these results.

For what it's worth I was able to solo Eochai with this build (hyrbid used, no lore/insps) which I consider to be a rather impressive feat.

Also, I've started working on a second build, designed for soloing AVs/GMs. It's not fully optimized yet, but it's my starting point. Would be nice if anyone could take it for a spin on Justin as I probably won't be able to do it until the end of next week.

I grabbed some boosters and the missing purple set, and gave the rad/fire scrapper another go (same conditions as two posts above).

2:15 = 411 DPS
2:11 = 420 DPS

Then, I made a new build dropping Atom Smasher (who needs AoEs when stuff dies to Burn and auras while you whack the bosses?) and Consume (I'd rather manage end passively) in favor of Vengeance and Confront, for a little bit extra recharge. Confront should be a nice addendum for AV soloing too, stopping them from running willy-nilly; and now the attack chain is gapless.

2:09 = 425 DPS

2:06 = 432 DPS
1:55 = 461 DPS

No hybrid
2:15 = 411 DPS

This could use more runs for the sake of hard data, but when it comes to personal standards I'm confident going with "oh yeah, this scrapper is packing some heat." 🙂

So I did a bunch of testing with my general pve builds for DB/Elec and DB/Rad Scrappers on test server. I have a very slight gap in my chain because I originally thought I would use Agility for the +def and +end mod (on the elec at least), but I switched to Musc for this test and haven't tried to make up the recharge elsewhere yet. So T4 Musc Core, T4 Ageless Core, T4 Assault Core (just passive, not toggled), T4 Degen Radial and they both averaged out about 350 dps without Assault (don't want to try to figure that out in the build atm). I think the /Rad could pull very slightly ahead of that if I changed a couple things.

That's not too different from my DB/Elec on live. I had a suspicion that /Rad would creep ahead of /Elec because of Meltdown and Radiation Therapy, but it seems the damage aura in /Elec just almost makes up for it. What's great is these combos do excellent AoE and are both suuuper survivable. I think I'll stick with the /Elec on live server and switch to Musc Radial to boost Power Sink.

Wow, this thread has really taken off since I last checked. I've been MIA due to the new FFXIV expansion (top notch, FYI). But I'll be back once I hit a content lull.

I've seen a number of requests/mentions about my War Mace/Bio scrapper build. Here's the latest iteration that I made (also one of my Live characters) before I stopped playing for a bit.

To be honest, the fire/cold softcapping (via the 6th slot of superior blistering cold) was more for funsies.

I switched to Barrier (from Ageless) after further testing revealed that A) I didn't need the recharge or endurance of Ageless to sustain my WM/Bio chain to any reasonable degree and B) it would allow me to softcap a host of defenses with less slotting and cap my s/l resistance in-game.

After a long and fruitful discussion with @marcussmytheon highend solo challenges, we* naturally concluded the new meta for these endeavors would be fully ranged stalkers skipping Assassin's Strike.

*half of our PMs were lost in the forum migration, and I picture Marcus as a sophisticated gentleman type too polite to correct my delusions.

Ergo, I built a claws/bio stalker running Focus - Shockwave - Dark Blast - Focus - Shockwave - Moonbeam, with a Night Widow pet on call.

Apocalypse in Moonbeam, Decimation in Dark Blast, Assassin's Mark in Focus, Stalker's Guile + Annihilation -RES in Shockwave.

First attempts with Hybrid Assault T3 (active), Musculature T3, Degen T3 (-maxHP):
4:24 = 273 DPS
4:57 = 256 DPS

A bit hectic as I was building muscle memory for the attack chain... and having heavy end problems. This won't do.

So I got one end accolade, swapped 2 damage procs for plain endurance reduction IOs, threw some boosters at the build whenever applicable.

3:13 = 326 DPS
3:12 = 327 DPS

Without the Night Widow
4:56 = 257 DPS

Still got some end woes, to the point I'm running without Tough and Maneuvers which feels a little stupid. As much as I wanted to go Barrier (and went and got the full T4 crafted...), perhaps I should just bite the bullet and grab Ageless, which would plug the Moonbeam gap as well. Shadow Meld stacked on /bio might be good enough mitigation for hard content.

Cross noting it since I linked to this thread from "Proc Monsters" Figured I'd post the run I came through with.

Definitely reliant on some additional testing, but Dark/Dark/Psi Defender on a Proc-Focused build. T4 Core Degen, Ageless, Assault (not activated), T4 Radial Intuition done over on the Test Server. Primary focus was on Gloom > Moonbeam > Dominate with Dark Blast splashed into gaps. Ageless helps keep things cleaner at the beginning, and then they get a bit muddy towards the end.

There were some trial-and-error attempts, and one run I had to throw out for technicality of another player boosting my Recharge.

The solid, unquestioned and best attempt was 4:02 (286 DPS)

Need to get timing down, and figure out the pattern for where Dark Blast best fits in so I'm not fuddling around as badly.
