  1. (Making sure to mark out any personal info) Can you grab a screenshot of the system specs? You can use Winkey+Break (upper right area) to bring the window up. Also, what is your AV? Knowing your Router's Model and age might help too. My current guesses? Wifi connection issue A Windows 10 Network Reset wouldn't hurt Check your cables on the Modem/Router and reboot if needed. I've replaced the modem with my own now because of network issues on their end (after they basically replaced everything from the street to the wall). Switch to the 2.4 Ghz band if your signal strength is <4 arcs consistently. Moving to a closer location to the router would be a good test of this. Weak hardware It's possible that you're on a "light weight" device that just doesn't like doing what you're trying to do. Not too likely, but possible. There may be a factory flaw in the wifi card or elsewhere on the motherboard that should be checked if possible. There may be a factory flaw in the storage device (HDD/SSD) and it's already failing (slowly). This can cause corrupted files. Device Security interference I often find that people end up with Too much security on their device. Windows defender +1 3rd party AV is enough. Some only run with defender without issue as well. Defender itself doesn't usually complain too much about the launcher, but quite a few (all?) 3rd party AVs will silently crimp down on either the connection or the app itself. Look for notifications and hints in the Quarantine section of the AV for signs of this. I know I've been pushing the hell out of this, but it seems to be a much nicer experience for most people. Try the new launcher as it's much simpler and less of a headache (so far) to troubleshoot. I'm still tweaking the related post (new info provided), but it's more than enough to get you running save the above issues.
  2. @Number Six, confirming no installation or launching issues with MacOS 11 Big Sur (beta)!
  3. @GM Manga, I did another thing that relates to Big Sur (Beta) that should make you happy/relieved.
  4. MacOS 11 Big Sur Yeah, got to finally test it. on my Unsupported MBP 2012! No wifi, but I'm not planning on gaming on it really. Really not much to say as installing the OS was the hardest part of it all really. The process is essentially the same except for an extra permission or a slightly different looking window (new UI on this OS version). I might right something more fully later if something changes (hopefully me getting the wifi driver fix). I "did" try it using Parallels 16, but 3Mb of vRAM (as reported by the Guest OS) was really painful, especially the visual and input lag in general. The only notable things to mention are that you may get more popups and simply need to hit the Close, Complete, Install, etc. I've attached the ones that appear to be new, but they occur near the end of the installation process and I 'think' this happened during the original process as well. This is the sequence that these appeared, but I'll have to test it later to remember where in the process they fall. So long as you just click the buttons, then you should end up with a working game. Click the "OK" button Click the "OK" button Click the "Install" button Click the "Install" button
  5. So long as you watched both, then you are forgiven. 😂
  6. Yeah, my MBP 2012 is sitting with a 500Gb SSD (OS multi-boot) + 2Tb HDD for data files. It was already maxed at 16Gb RAM and is otherwise the top of its class, so yeah, the SSD is a good start with the right price. I seem to like the specs on the Samsung 860 EVO series.
  7. Pretty sure the answer to that was written elsewhere, but PC is a Titan thing and Icon is basically retired, so if you want access to those, then you'd need to stick to Tequila for them until they get retired. I'd jump over to the Titan forums and ask their official status. Oh wait, @GM Tahquitz, this is your territory!
  8. Maybe they'll know this one?
  9. Try removing everything and following the new guide I threw together for the new launcher:
  10. Because NCHard sounds too much like MCHammer?
  11. The clubs thing is cool, but I find myself Still just clicking the "Unread" button daily. :/
  12. How new is the modem? Maybe get a mild upgrade?
  13. I tried that tag in the windows shortcut and it seems to make a huge difference when interacting on my Win7 x64 system.
  14. ---File links are Current as of 01/20/2024--- ***Tested on Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey, and Ventura (Installation Only)*** I'll try to keep this up to date, but make sure to check Manga's original thread for the most current file (should it be updated again). This guide is a visual walk through of "Method 2". Backup Island Rum (If you're moving from an old version) Install New Launcher (Up through Monterey) Install New Launcher (Ventura and up) Create a Launcher Shortcut First Launch Post Install Migration
  15. Using Method 1: I stop the file download once it starts the "1 of 161" (PIGG files) process I've even allowed this to proceed fully with the same result Then I go add/change the manifest you have I've even tried removing the old entry and deleting the hidden PLIST (?) that stores the manifest URLs (before even attempting) It then attempts to download launcher.exe and launcher64.exe and it fails but attempts several times until it quits
  16. You can't be installing the new launcher then, because it does not do that. It creates two folders: \coh\Launcher and \coh\wine.
  17. It felt more like an issue communicating with the server, but that's more @GM Tahquitz's knowledge territory.
  18. I'm trying to wrap-up this thread (below), so I'd be looking for any/all AE related files/folders so that I can improve the usefullness of the thread. It seems to be helping the Mac people. I did a poor attempt at searching for a thread that covered say Backing up AE, but no joy.
  19. What happens when you boot the Mac in safemode? I believe that's holding shift down after the startup chime. That would rule out any 3rd party apps interfering. Also, and because I don't recall what mine said, did the installer put in Applications\coh\Homecoming or did you make a Homecoming folder inside the Applications\coh folder? I took a snapshot copy of the base launcher structure (pre-install) and it does Not include a Homecoming folder. In fact, I'm pretty sure there isnt' a Homecoming folder in the final structure.
  20. I'd have to test again, but it was trying to download a pair of files (core new launcher files?) and kept cycling between the two in a neverending attempt to complete. I gave up because I wasn't up to messing with it (or Catalina) at the time. I moved my backup folder back into place and no errors launching either launcher.
  21. You Want the game to install into the Applications\coh folder...
  22. Due to the nature (and my limited understanding) of the various servers, I'd suggest having them completely isolated from each other. Anything based on the same codebase likely won't have issues, but AFAIK that's the point of the different servers. Each has their own variation of the code at this point and odd things will likely happen. The new launcher being the exception because you're not (supposed to be) pointing to the old Tequila folder for it installation.
