  1. I'm hoping to be corrected when this tool comes Back into existence, but Currently I don't know of a tool that'll let you see the build exported from the game. That said, I Did find the game's built-in character exporter a while back while combing through this. Oddly, it doesn't seem to include nearly as much info as one gets when exporting a Mids build.
  2. The screen going blank like that though sounds like the game is somehow trying to output and some off the wall GPU setting. Comb through your GPU software drivers and see if there's something active that is possibly overriding what's in the registry. IE: my NVidia drivers allow me to pre-set GPU settings for when it detects the game launching. This could Easily get screwed up by an update of some kind.
  3. A couple things to look into, if you haven't: 1) Run DXDiag.exe (pretty sure it still works on Win10) and go through the tabs to see if there are any issues mentioned; 2) If you followed the above, then this is pointless, but I've made some registry things you can "merge" to put the game into 1080p @60Hz. Note: I've stripped all other game settings from the files so as not to mess with anything else you had set 1080p.reg for simply changing to 1080p @ 60Hz 1080p_FS.reg to put you into Full Screen with the same settings *FIXED*
  4. Just to be clear, Forum and Game accounts are completely separate if that's causing confusion for you. That and you'll likely need to be using separate email accounts for each.
  5. I was coming here Just to say this. Now, mind you, I haven't read the other thread, but as a long time user this makes the most sense.
  6. As heated and two sided as this discussion appears to be, it still looks like simply placing your minions in an open spot is the best compromise. IE: If you're in Atlas, then find a spot where people aren't gathered and park them until you're done. In confined spaces, when the thing is dead pull the pets back to you. Doorways, let the non-MMs through first Unless there's a tactic to it. IE: you're team strategy is to keep from being followed. Say everyone's getting low on HP or End, then shove those pets in the door to allow everyone to start recovering while the AV noms on the pets When everyone recovers you'll have plenty of time to resummons and recover yourself. Either way, it's a conscious burden on that of the MM and it's kind of what they should have expected when they took the AT. If the pets are bugging you, then maybe you have a new-2-the-AT person. Don't be rude, just kinda say "hey, they pets are sorta blocking things".
  7. That's why they introduced PvP TBH. Give you a place where you can pop in/out of so-called FF. I think we have an arena type thing too right? It's been ages since I've messed with the non-PvE content.
  8. This, because we now (?) can have doors on any side of a room and thus makes Anything on a wall or overlapping the edge of the room will be treated as hard linked. It really sucks sometimes, but it also encourages lots of preplanning.
  9. If you mean that you're using one of the extra buttons on it, then yeah, that might be it. Unless you have a global software bind for that and have the drivers set to not allow apps to change them. Yet to try it overall personally, but my Task Switcher button seems to work on Windows when playing.
  10. Weird, I'm gonna have to look into Why so many of you are getting user created folders set as Read Only. Are you running Win10? You know it worked if you have a data folder. When you go in-game just load the map and you'll see all sorts of special pointers and added text referencing them.
  11. Don't Tease! *runs to check patch notes*
  12. I should probably start wearing my glasses at home. I swear to god that said: "PK's Butt Force Fields" At first I was like :P and then I was like "hmmm...."
  13. So based on this, then when you run the vm_mappack_i23.exe you want it aimed at that folder (mentioned above). This will create a folder called data so that you end up with C:\City of Heroes\data that contains the original vidiots maps. Then you need to unzip the moremaps4u.zip file normally in whatever folder you choose as it's going to create a folder called moremaps4u. Inside this new folder will be the added maps housed within a folder called....data. You can then simply drag that folder into the C:\City of Heroes folder as is. Whenever it asks about replacing files/folders tell it yes. Now you can start the game and the files will be correctly installed!
  14. Two things: 1) False positive, you need to whitelist your installation folder/tequila in the AV 2) Please look at the Installation guides as it's HEAVILY advised to be installing the game into say c\games\COH due to how windows tries to protect itself and your files
  15. Before or After the whole zone of ranged come looking for you and then realize they Still can't target you in their rage? :p
  16. +1, and definitely a code thing as mentioned..once or twice. :p If they get around to rebuilding the codebase from scratch, then I'll bet this is something they'd manage to do once it's upgraded to something more pliable than C.
  17. I'll take you one further and suggest that ALL the contacts START with being able to call AFTER you've first met them.
  18. Well Actually, (probably from reading the related forum posting) I've been using the newer (?) link for a long time now, but I also don't seem to be logging in when they're having server issues for the most part. http://www.savecoh.com/manifest.xml
  19. I stopped in just to post that...the difference being you actually included the reference. :p
  20. //we REALLY need a non-game general group Ok, so I can't help the group trying to troubleshoot CoX on Mac because my MBP has been offline for a while. I decided to pull it back out and attempt to rebuild it, but I've a few issues starting with, I need to create a bootable MacOS USB using my archives and a Windows device. I can't use my PPC to make a Dmg that my Intel Mac can read. I didn't think to convert these (misunderstanding of methods) as I downloaded them from the App store, so all I have are them in App format. I've come across a couple methods, but they all require the terminal and a working Mac. Some important backstory, this is a 2012 Non-Retina MBP that has been maxed out in upgrades. RAM is topped off at 16Gb. The OS drive is an Evo 860 500Gb that I was splitting in two for Bootcamp, but that drive is all but RAW right now. I'd pulled the optical out and made it an external. In its place went a 2Tb Seagate (again, split in half) for my Data drive. There ARE Time Machine backups on the drive, but even when I Do get into the recovery mode it refuses to use them to restore the primary drive. I've pulled a clone of the apps from that drive, so I'm not entirely concerned with data loss. That and I already had a copy of my licenses. So why am I in this situation? Sometime late last year / early this year the keyboard started not acting right. Sometimes it didn't want to type some/all letters. Thinking it was an update issue, I rolled back the Windows OS, tried reinstalling the Bootcamp drivers, but nothing helped 100%. Gradually it seemed as if it was affecting the MacOS side and eventually got to the point that I couldn't consistently use Mac boot command keystrokes. I even pulled out my Mac USB keyboard, but after a while even IT behaved the same way. I 'think' a PRAM reset worked at first, but eventually either it wasn't resetting (keys not working) or it no longer worked in general. At this point the OS drive is unpartitioned, the Data drive is intacted, but the device gives a DOS style "please insert a valid boot disk" type message. I'm guessing that's because it sees the split drive and somehow the UEFI/SMC is messed up, so it thinks it's a PC right now. I'm hoping it's software as I don't really wanna replace the keyboard right now. IDK if I can do it myself (yet, need to find guide on iFixit), but I'm not lacking in experience nor tools for the job.
  21. Did you happen to post a staff/regen build that was heavy on stamina yesterday? :p
  22. Possible leftover/damaged registry entries overwritten by the reinstall.
  23. The reloadgfx command wouldn't help here would it?
  24. I think I read elsewhere on here that some computers (Dell?) don't like the DVI as the primary.
