  1. It might be possible that the devs could implement a "Refuse all Incarnate Thread" buff at the P2W vendor. Much like they have for Insps and recipes. Now it would be up to the player to cancel this buff before they join Itrials. If you disable XP at level 50 and used said buff, it would be pretty vanilla outside of the incarnate XP gain, as afaik you can't turn that off Everyone seems to be jumping the OP. But all they want is an option; they aren't asking for a global nerf. Noting wrong with options, so long as they don't take away a huge amount of dev time. Which brings me to the 'Standard Code Rant', as I have zero clue how tough such a change would be to implement xD
  2. For the love of Pete, please give Defenders/Corruptors an Ice APP. They already have Cold Dom and Ice Blast, an Ice APP is now thematic! Frost Bite Frozen Armor Hoar Frost Energy Absorption Arctic Air Failing that, I could go for Stone or Energy. Anything to give them a +defense toggle that doesn't require dipping into the villain side for Scorpion Shield.
  3. SR also has it, off the top of my head. You don't need Hasten to make them Perma. They are easily Permad with two even-level Recharge SO's. Three Recharge SO's will actually allow them to stack Stacking is advantageous because not only does it skyrocket their mez protection, but each activation also comes with innate Def Debuff resistance. So stacking them up can make one virtually immune to such debuffs.
  4. I just can't wait to see the following in LFG Chat; "ITF LFM! Must have 20k DPS in order to join! PST with build and link to DPS metrics"
  5. Heh it was a resource thing? I'll be darned! I always just assumed they didn't want you browsing the AH mid-battle as a defender while your team gets butchered.
  6. This is also true. I was able to recreate my main with her proper name and Origin this time around. Whereas last time I shifted concepts part way through. So it always felt weird.
  7. On a related note, I would love some sort of.. Re-connection routine? IE my internet drops or stutters for 1-5 seconds, then it works again. Many MMO's I've played would be able to 'catch up' and reconnect you after the hiccup. Preventing you from dropping to the login screen. However CoH seems to drop you cold turkey for even the slightest hiccup in service. I do not recollect if this was the case on Live or of its unique to SCORE/Homecoming. But it would be a nice fix if they can manage it.
  8. I'd assume standard toggle rules would apply. A chance when you first activate the power and then every 10 seconds thereafter that the toggle is running. as a Bubbler I'd stick it in Repulsion Bomb. With a base recharge of 30 seconds it's going to proc very often when using that. That being said, this IO has always seems of dubious use to me. If a power isn't "recharged" within its 5 second window it seems to reset back to where it was before the proc, minus 5 seconds. Making the whole thing mostly futile unless you're using it for shorter recharge powers like attacks, or luck out on your long-recharge powers timing wise. So I'd imagine its great in Super Strength etc, not so great for recharging multi-minute powers though.
  9. It's not bad at all. I shared similar fears but my love for the game buried those. It was so nice to be able to play again I didn't care. That being said, my main was able to catch up to her Live build in about 2-3 weeks. That's IOs, incarnates and everything. Could be quicker now since this was at launch and I was somewhat leisurely about it.
  10. I like to think of it as an "intimidation factor". Your typical tank would be large and imposing. Someone you'd want to attack because he is in your face, and hard to ignore. The wizard character next to him looks small, meager and easily ignorable. So they go after the big hulking tank. Little do they know the wizard is the one who packs the punch! While the tank just takes the beating and laughs. Granted this is usually not the case in game. As tiny petite schoolgirls can be the tank, but I like to think that's the 'mechanics' behind MMO tanks as a whole. They're big, they're loud, they're shouting "yo momma jokes", and the enemies want them ded. -- Edit- Word around the playground is aggro caps actually increase server load. Due to constant "Can I attack yet" queries being issued from mobs when you aggro more than 17 at once. No idea if this is true though.
  11. I started up my own personal private 'server' just for this. You can't copy your character over (from what I know) but you can use admin commands to instantly boost to 50 and give them whatever IOs etc you want. Great way to test things out, although a little more involved than the previous method. (Test server)
  12. I think the 10:1 ratio was balanced around solo/team/farming VMerit gain, not the RWZ mothership raids. I tested this earlier on before RWZ raids became popular. 'Reward Merits per time' ratio seemed pretty spot on that way. Farming for an hour gave me maybe 20-40 Reward Merits (farming x8 maps). Of course YMMV and my numbers aren't exact. That being said, I expect them to be nerfed eventually. They've already nerfed Merit gain from morality missions. It was 50 at launch, now its 30 or so.
  13. darn... looked and your right. what i get for posting while waiting for server maintinece to end i guess. prestige sprint can slot seperately, so you could power-slide +stealth and regular sprint -end. which would be an inetresting option. You wouldn't want to put a stealth IO in an auto always on power anyway. Do that and you couldn't turn the stealth off. Good luck with those escort missions. Which I believe was their given reason for not allowing it. Also people should keep in mind that it shuts off immediately after you stop using which ever toggle it is in. So if you slot it in Sprint, you'll have to be running Sprint at all times you want invisibility. The IO states it last 120 seconds, but this seems to only be the case for click powers, not toggles.. Not a big deal if you want to use it to just stealth missions, but if you want a "combat stealth" then you'll have to use extra endurance running sprint Sprint. Same holds true for CJ/Hover. However those are commonly ran during battle regardless, so its less of an annoyance.
  14. Ironically the attack stances (Support/Offensive/Defensive) *did* make it into CO IIRC. The GUI makes me chuckle, man that sure has changed!
  15. Penelope Yin's TF still requires the "Click the 4 glowies at the same time" during the final mish. At least it *says* it does. I've never tried clicking a glowy just to see if it works or not. I might have to do that next time xD
  16. People were also trolling their teams by putting it into Speed Boost! If memory serves correct xD
  17. I agree. Perhaps they could add an "Either/Or" method. Either you play a character for 12 hours, or you level to them 21. Player a character for 40 hours, or you level them to 50. Something like that. Granted people could abuse that by just keeping the character logged in for hours xD (Pretty sure you wont be afk-booted if you're in a SG base or a mission)
  18. Clear mind is a mez resist buff, which none of those are AoE (Increase Density is not the exception, the actual target is the only on to receive the mez resist, the rest of the effects are AoE) Ooh shit is that what's going on? I was wondering why I'd get mezzed even though I have ID on me as a buff. I figured it was some bug or something lol. Good to know! This drives me up the wall sometimes. If its one of those super crowded rooms and the team is struggling, then fine. But if we're loaded to the gills with Defenders, Corruptors or Controllers it just seems like a waste of time. The mob is already nice and bunched up in a hallway, why are we corner pulling exactly? Bonus face palm points if you have a trigger happy Controller who spams their immob. Causing the mob to be scattered to hell and stuck in place. ("Frontal Herding" is another matter entirely. Where the tank draws new groups of mobs into our pits of doom) Aye, this is why my policy is "Only give advice when asked". People in general can get really irate if you start "telling them how to play". It's not a mindset unique to healers.
  19. IIRC you had to not only sap their Endurance, but apply a -Recovery debuff on them as well. As even a sliver of endurance allowed them to utilize their more potent attacks. So you had to sap em to zero and keep it at zero via -Recovery. Powers such as Short Circuit accomplish this.
  20. Aye, Kinetic's "Transference" and Dark Miasma's "Howling Twilight" both seem obnoxiously loud. Especially Soul Transfer if it hits more than a few guys. It's speaker-busting levels of loud xD
  21. This is my general suggestion as well. If you don't want to mess around with Recipe IOs just yet, you can use reward merits to cash out on stuff to sell on the AH, like Enhancement Converters. Doing so will generate all the cash you'll ever need for SOs or basic IOs. Although I recommend hanging onto them for later. You can technically ride DFB all the way to 50, but doing so is going to be hella boring, grindy, and (especially if you are new) you'll have zero idea whats going on or how the play. As DFB is very easy and teaches you nothing outside of "Dodge the Bad"
  22. On the flip side, an Empath that uses their secondary, keeps the team forted, AB'd and CM'd is quite a nice asset! Empathy itself is a fine set, sadly it gets a bad rep from people doing nothing but "Rocking the Aura" xD
  23. And how are they going to enforce it? How are they going to tell multi boxers from a couple playing together. Or a parent and their kids? Internet LAN party? Will it become a full blown witch hunt where any thematic group is reported enmasse by the player base and banned? "Oh they must be multi boxing, they all have matching names and costumes!" Let sleeping dogs lie. The only real issue is server stress. Granted the honor system will only go so far, but punishing the masses for the misdoings of a small group has always been a silly idea. The same people who Multibox 8 chars during prime time would be the same people cheating the system if it were "banned" anyways. So you accomplish nothing but punishing the rule-abiding player.
  24. You could always try putting -compatiblecursors 1 into the launcher parameters! To do so open up Tequila, click "Options" then in the "Launch parameters" field, type in "-compatiblecursors 1" without the quotations. If it worked you'll end up with an old ugly looking cursor, but that's better than nothing!
  25. I believe these were the official requirements, updated for I18. https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/The_Players%27_Guide_to_the_Cities/System_Requirements I'd aim for at least "Ultra Mode" recommendations. I would imagine even a modern budget gaming rig would run this game fairly well due to it's age. Although it was pretty resource intensive for its time. (for big parties etc) For what it's worth, my aging rig runs it nearly flawlessly at maximum settings Intel i7 - 4790k GeForce GTX 1060 (6gb) 24 GB System Ram Windows 7 - 64 Bit
