Makes me ponder why did this in the first place. My guess is a few people on SCORE asked "Hey, can we get Empathy for Masterminds?" Leo was like "Well it's not gonna be great, but sure why not. No harm done" As really, whats the harm. Not every combo has to be meta breaking. Maybe some people really enjoy their Empathy Mastermind. And with 2 Heals, the ability to Fort your T3 (and both T2s with enough recharge), + CM, I am sure it is at least playable. The T3 pets might have enough HP to make Adren Boost a nice HoT too, I dunno. (Recharge has no effect on pets right?)

To be fair, what is, and isn't transferred to pets/pseudo pets is kind of convoluted. As it tends to be a case-by-case basis, and afaik there's no "official documentation" for this. Closest thing being the wiki I'd imagine. Even aas a vet I have a hard time keeping track of all that. For instance Lightning Storm.. Hasten (used) to be transferred to that. But does Buildup/Aim/Power Buildup? What if I pop a few reds. Do those transfer? I've totally forgotten xD Heck do accuracy bonuses from IOs transfer? I am pretty sure they effect other pseudo pets such as Rain of Fire.

It's bound to stabilize, go down a bit and even out. I'm sure many new players jumped in to see what the fuss was about. Some stayed, some probably left. Other servers opened, some people opted to play on those instead. Me personally, I am still enjoying the game but the adrenaline and "must play" feelings have diminished. I still log in frequently but not as much as when the servers first came back up. Instead I am playing in moderation now, which is good as my work and real life needs to take precedent.

So apparently Homecoming is only the 7th most popular server

Amen, they need to give it a rest and enjoy the game. Every minute they waste bitching about SCORE is a minute they aren't playing CoH! -
Rewrite Lt Harris's arc redside so it's not so offensive

This. It does not come off as misogyny to me. It comes off as a psychopath getting revenge on someone, for something he perceives as a wrong-doing towards him. You could replace the girl with a potential (male) business partner and change the name from "Girlfriend" to "Business Partner" and the story could fold out in exactly the same manner. "How dare he not agree to my business pact, he must die!" -
I don't get why this is so much better than CO

I will never buy a lifetime sub for an MMO. Because I know it could turn from something I love, into something I loathe literally overnight. All it takes is one really, really bad patch. Plus you are paying forward for a game that might not even live long enough to make the sub worth it. MMO's are too prone to change and too prone to take down for me to make ~$300 investment. -

I believe this was actually true for a moment. When HC first launched, or around the same time. AFAIK all they had were the binaries. not the source code. IE, they had what they needed to run the servers, but no way to edit the actual code because it was already compiled. But now that Leo is sharing/or released the source code, all is good. Now, I could be grossly mistaken though. So much was happening at once, I was having a hard time keeping tabs on it all. HC is now essentially the "Big Guy". And people love dogging on the "Big Guys". Haters gonna hate. -
Oh shit the nostalgia!

You must have missed the memo. The only ATs who are allowed to be mini-gods are Brutes, Scrappers and Tankers! Jokes aside, people do tend to overreact. PA is only an issue if Perma'd, which requires heavy IO investment. Yet the game isn't supposed to be balanced around IO's correct? If the player wants to deal with less-than-ideal Domination usage then let them.. Let them fight!

Make the number of "completable" missions at least 3xday.
Primantis replied to Judasace's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
To me this sounds like a reasonable compromise. If someone were to try and cheese an arc for Merits, it would still take them roughly a week depending on the length. Which is a long time to wait for a handful of merits. So the return isn't really worth worrying about. Especially in this game's climate. -
I'm somewhere in between. I like to call myself a "Semi min-maxer". I like to make my characters pretty strong within their context, but I am not going to roll nothing but FoTM builds. Heck I usually roll tons of Offenders, as I find it a lot of fun to push them towards soloing x8 maps. So ya, whatever floats a person's boat. The thing is DPS meters corrupt the general public, there's undeniable proof of that. (Heck there's 2-3 testimonies about it happening to people on this forum post alone) If they didn't corrupt I'd have zero problems with it.

Yes, you are. Because pretendy fun time games. So, you outright judge others and belittle them, because some people happen to enjoy gaming in a serious way or as a dedicated hobby, rather than your lackadaisical and carefree attitude towards the game? I don't understand how you can take this stance. Don't you see your hypocrisy? You criticize me for not "being a good sport" presumably and grouping with "casual players" (I don't like that term as I have no stigma towards casual players, but regardless) but then you say it's outright wrong to play in a manner where someone might care about efficiency. Nope! What I'm saying is that you can can choose to play however you want, but if you kick people because they aren't playing the way that YOU want them to play... then you're being the jerk, and you're wrong. That is, unless, you've EXPLICITLY stated in your /tell before the Invite the parameters of your playstyle. If you SPECIFICALLY tell them "you need to be providing X amount of DPS to play on my team, or you'll be kicked", and they don't do that? Sure, social contract broken. But if you just invite people or join teams and EXPECT them to play "your way" without telling them ahead of time, then get upset when they don't? That's on you. To be fair, Dragoon did mention they specifically asked for "Good Damage Dealers" in their LFM shouts. If I saw that I'd know that I'd have to be at least decent, and not spam [Jab] the whole time xD

Yes, you are. Because pretendy fun time games. Well the issue is what they find fun, we may find elitest. Tools they require to have that fun might be used in an elitest fashion that many CoH player's would rather not see. So it's a catch-20. Even if I avoided the teams; just seeing "ITF Run, 1k DPS required" would eat away at me, because that's not what CoH has ever really been about.. Well not to *me* at least. But I'm not going to tell other people how to enjoy the game. Although there are other ways to push yourself and sharpen your skills, none of which require DPS meters etc. Try timing Taskforce runs and aim to get quicker each time. Once you stagnant try bumping up the difficulty and see if you can maintain said times. You could also time kills on Rikti Pylons. Thats a pretty good way to get a DPS reading for ST damage.

Yes. AKA the "CoH Killer" I kid... I kid... Jack sure thought so... Anyone remember that interview he did shortly before (or was it after?) CO's launch? He spent more time dogging on CoH than he did promoting CO lol -
You pretty much just countered your own argument in the bolded part of the quote. "People are Kneejerking about DPS meters" "This 3rd guy sucked and only did 10% our DPS, and that's no good *insert sonic meme*" If you had a DPS meter what would you have done at that point? Either trolled or kicked I'm guessing You are right about support though. DPS meters are usually just for shits and giggles for healers, tanks etc. Although CoH works differently. Heal meters would be stupid because rocking the aura is not efficient at all. buffs/debuffs are way more potent. An APM counter would be better for support than a heal meter, and even then its blind.

Perhaps Time/Energy for Flash Man? Although I feel like Energy is going to be a common option, as it's the best way to mimic their busters imo. For those who use busters that is. (BTW I think this is a really fun idea)
-
That's basically my thoughts as well. I think there's way too much crap for a DPS meter to keep track of in this game, making them unreliable and too situational. Not to mention the sheer amount of AoE and Pet damage going on. Which is going to both skew results and cause inaccurate reports. The only situation I can think of where they'd be truly useful is 1vs1 against a Rikti Pylon or something. Teams are far too chaotic and situational. Regardless, DPS Meters is one thing I can certainly live without in this game.

On the flip-flipper side. I've seen my hero whiff so bad that they shot up towards the ceiling! The enemy technically "evaded" it because it said "deflected" yet it did not appear that way in the animation. My hero totally misfired.. I think there was a light on the ceiling that really pissed my Defender off so she shot it down with her Comic Burst. Must not have been an green-friendly light bulb or something.

Oh, how long I've yearned to see a "Top 100 Private MMO Servers" style list for CoH.. -
I'd suggest checkng out the Brute forums =3 https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/board,15.0.html That may give you some pointers and basic guides. Good luck!

As far as I can tell, the fix was very early on SCORE - probably six years ago. Thank you for the clarification!

Like it or not, and this statement of fact is in no way an accusation or implication toward any particular person - there are some (not all) people out there who want to create childlike characters in video games for perverted purposes. Again, no accusation or implication toward any particular person. If making it clear that I'm not such a person reads as moral high ground then that's okay with me. Fair enough! and "moral high ground" may have been a poor choice of words on my part. As for whether or not this can be done.. It depends a lot on how the game is set up. If it uses bones for scaling then it might be possible, as the bone scaling should scale all other regions around the chest too (armor etc). But I have no idea if that's the case.
-
I'm not, um, 'spazzing'. Just making it clear that my request isn't for that purpose. If the request is granted and others use it for that, that's their business. Then why bring it up at all? Is there anything innately wrong if people want to do that? The way its worded kind of reads as a moral high ground. "I am suggesting this change so people can make adults with small busts. *Not* children, I don't want to be associated with playable children characters." Especially since it was out of the blue and non-provoked. Comic books are full of non-adult heroes. DC even has spin offs. We have the Teen Titans etc. There is nothing wrong with children/teenage super heroes. And that's just my 2 cents. Also, yes I would love more functional sliders all around tbh! Let us give bigger heads too xD (Or smaller, why not?)

Do you really want all nuke controls to go FUBARd whenever Windows 10 decides to force an update? XD
