Don't forget the "Day-1 DLC" or features that were advertised but just aren't ready yet (tm). Ooh, and one of my personal faves - "Pay-for Beta".
-
I forget what its magnitude is offhand, but it can stack nicely with the other energy melee attacks, and if combined with power boost or boost range, it gains additional utility. How do you have the power slotted, and what level of enemies are you going up against?

Craft more stuff with incarnate salvage
biostem replied to Jiro Ito's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If we went by AE ticket prices for salvage, (8 for a random common, 80 for an uncommon, and 540 for a rare), I doubt it would really impact the market. And being that you can buy super inspirations for 10-30 threads each, and those can sell for much more than my proposed conversion rates, it wouldn't be unbalancing at all. -
Craft more stuff with incarnate salvage
biostem replied to Jiro Ito's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It could be kind of cool if we could use threads in place of common salvage and shards in place of uncommon ones, or to directly buy such components at a similar rate like those pieces cost in AE tickets. -
Maybe they thought giving them phalanx fighting instead, combined with the bit of defense that hide gives them, would be too much? I'm similarly perplexed as to why Stalker regen doesn't get quick recovery.

If you want something versatile and durable, try dual pistols/radiation armor. If you want something with better damage, but requiring a little more hands-on attention, try a fire or sonic/bio armor sentinel.

Basically, level 25 generic IOs are like an SO that is -1 to your level, and level 30 generic IOs are on par with a +1 SO. Here is a good primer on the subject. If you're looking for general advice, here are a few suggestions, (obviously tailor things to your liking or needs - These assume roughly same-level SO levels of enhancement value): 1. For attacks, slot 2 acc & 3 dmg. The last slot can be for recharge, end reduction, special effects, or omitted if the slots are needed elsewhere. 2. For armor powers, I generally just do 3x defense or resist, depending upon the power type. 3. For control powers, I'll usually try to balance it out, so something like 2 acc, 2 recharge, 2 of the mez type (hold, stun, etc). The only exceptions are sleeps and immobilizes, which typically have plenty of duration inherently. 4. Buff powers I treat similar to armors - 3x of whatever they affect, (end mod, def, res, healing, etc), plus a recharge or other such utility. Lastly, I just want to talk about overall strategies for slotting - I generally use only drops until about level 22, at which point I'll slot generic level 25 IOs, as they'll last me until 50 and never expire. This advice also doesn't take into account set bonuses or other unique IOs.

Are you looking to be "given" a character, insofar as we say to you "play this AT with these powersets", or are you looking for general advise. Try an ice/devices blaster - you have good AoE, good control, good damage, and a secondary set that both allows you to stay at range and provides some good survival tools. When you are able, grab combat jumping and slot an unbounded leap stealth in it, to stack with field operative, so you can engage enemies on your terms, with a safer margin.

Color Pallets for Costume pieces and Powers.
biostem replied to Zep's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
They'd probably have to completely rework the entire character creator. There are some pieces that clearly consist of colors we can't directly select, so it's not an engine limitation per se. My guess is that the current grid system was setup to try and simplify color matching for less technically inclined players. Just for the record, I am in favor of having more colors available. PS: Anyone remember when there wasn't a "true" black as a selectable option? -
There are, IMO, two core ways to play savage melee - one where you work to maintain your stacks of blood frenzy, so as to maximize the recharge and end cost bonuses, and one where you spend those stacks for the extra damage of rending flurry and hemorrhage. What I tend to do, as I usually want tough and weave, is to take boxing as a filler attack, use it so I drop to 4 stacks of blood frenzy, thereby not consuming them if I use the 2 powers I mentioned before, then go back to 5 stacks w/ the other powers, and repeat as needed. As to which side to start in, it really shouldn't matter...

I wouldn't say it's a matter of 1023 characters being too much to read, rather if I am that interested in someone else's character's backstory, I'd be fully willing to go to an external resource, where it would be easier to read, with better formatting and a cleaner presentation. Sell me on the character with a short, poignant description, which is accessible to far more people, and include a "read more" link or such for those that want a full biography...

Go savage melee - while the end cost reduction may not help that much, the extra recharge will make recon, dull pain, IH, and MoG available more often. It's also a solid set, IMHO.

Reject Invention salvage option at P2W vendor
biostem replied to -Kobi-'s topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It may be more a matter of limited storage space and being unable to access the AH or a vendor while in an instanced mission, vs any difficulty in selling the pieces... -
It depends so much on a multitude of factors - do I want to knock out a few missions, but don't have a lot of time? Drop the difficulty and team size. Do I really want to challenge myself and test my build? Up them. Am I feeling like taking on hordes of enemies but don't want the fight to drag on forever? Up the team size, but lower the level. I also have several "concept characters" where their power choices are far from optimal, and in those cases, I will lower the difficulty accordingly...

There is a male t-shirt, but it has a slightly different collar. Is it because the design of that piece doesn't lend itself to blending into a mask, since it's more cut-out? I'm just trying to understand why it's not acceptable to the OP. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for proliferating the pieces, I'm just trying to understand what about the existing ones doesn't accomplish what is being asked for...

This makes me wonder - we obviously see superpowered individuals in the Rogue Isles, so besides the Rikti Attack and the subsequent construction of the war walls, there must be people with super powers all over the world in CoH, only Paragon City is kind of the nexus of it all...

I got no beef with fixing the issues with the text editor, but my point still stands.

You have to think of the in-game bio like the back of a trading card, rather than a graphic novel. Heck, it's even under the "ID" section. It's a character description, not a full-on biography. Link to a site where interested parties can read the full work-up in their leisure...

No set bonuses check box on TF and Ouro arcs
biostem replied to 0th Power's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I think the larger question would be what would this mode offer in comparison to playing without it, and would that difference warrant making a new build just for that purpose. If it's just a challenge to see if you can do it or not, then let it stand as-is. If there are extra or special rewards involved, then a further examination as to what is or is not allowed would have to be carried out... -
Kinda pointless but maybe fun suggestion
biostem replied to Communistpenguin's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Here's the great thing about this being an OPTION - if you don't want to explain the change, don't use it. If you do want to explain it, you can put a blurb in your bio about it, or even run to the appropriate origin store and "buy" the necessary components to account for the repair, (or just RP it however you see fit). -
I was able to get in this time. TY for all you do, CoH:HC devs & staff!
-
Do you have a screenshot of what you're talking about, because that backpack is the only piece I'm aware of that has that option. Is it possible you saw someone with one of the Prismatic Aether Costumes on, such as the Arachnoid? For reference:

Kinda pointless but maybe fun suggestion
biostem replied to Communistpenguin's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I would love to have various triggers for costume changes - >75% health, 74%-50%, 49%-25%, <25%, while not in combat but a travel power is active, while in combat, and so on...
